I Am Not Receiving Or Able To Send Out Email On My Ipad

Why can I receive e-mail on my iPhone 6 but can not send e-mail?

There’s probably an easy solution to this which includes changing your outbound emails password.Let me explain…Since the iOS 7 update, many emails accounts on iPhone such as exchange accounts, Yahoo accounts, Comcast accounts, Bellsouth accounts and other email accounts are not able to send emails – receiving emails is not a problem. This issue does not seem to be affecting Gmail or iCloud accounts. The problem, is the with the password in the outgoing mail settings (SMTP settings) for the particular email account. The video above provides detailed instructions on how to fix the problem of being able to receive but not being able to send emails on the iPhone, iPad and iPod after updating to iOS 7 or higher. The video was originally uploaded with instructions using iOS 7 but, has since been updated to show instructions for iOS 10.Here’s a video on you can fix thisHow to fix being able to send, but not receive, emails on iOS:Access your iPhone settings.Tap on “Mail“ to access your mail settings.Tap on “Accounts“.Tap on the affected email account.Tap on the email account again on the next screen.Tap on “SMTP” in the OUTGOING MAIL SERVER section.Tap on the first field list in the PRIMARY SERVER section (it should say “On” to the right).Make sure that the full email address for this account is listed in the “User Name“ field.Retype your password in the “Password” field (even if a password is already entered).Tap “Done” in the top right corner.Remember, even if there is already a password in the password field, it is important to retype it for this fix to work. For whatever reason, many email accounts in iOS retain the correct password for receiving emails but the correct password does not transfer over to the outgoing mail settings.Once the password has been reentered in the outgoing mail settings, emails should now send properly from the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch without any problems!I hope this could be of help. Cannot receive Yahoo email on iPhone 6 with iOS8.2. Can send but not receive.?

As of 830am April 1, 2015, my iPhone 6 has stopped receiving emails for my Yahoo account. I can receive all my other accounts. I can also send from my Yahoo account. All emails are accessible through the internet. How can I fix this?

This account may not be able to send or receive emails?

Hi Felix,

Thanks for posting!

Yahoo! Customer Care suggests that you refrain from posting your email address on public forums like Yahoo! Answers. Doing so makes your address a target for spammers, who regularly scan sites like this looking for new addresses to add to their lists.

I recommend deleting this question and asking it again on Answers, without your email address (if you still need assistance).

At this point, I recommend reviewing the steps in the following help article which explains how you can troubleshoot and re-create the Yahoo! Account on your Apple device. The steps refer to iPhone, but they also work for iPad and iPad2:

I hope this helps!

Can I send an email directly to someone's email address with iMessage or through the iphone messages app?

IMessages are delivered to a iMessaging application, not an email application. If you want to send an email, just send an email.  If you want to send a message on an iDevice to be delivered to an iDevice, use iMessage. This is similar to asking if you can put a letter in an envelop with a stamp and stick it in the fax machine for delivery.  The message creation and the delivery mechanism are tied together in normal usage.  If you really have a specific need to juggle services like this, it will involve some number of intermediate steps.
