I Am On Spelling City Sentence Writing Practice And I Was Trying To Make The Computer Say F Word. I

I am really bad at spelling, and I have a bad hand writing help?

Unfortunately, there's really only one thing you can do: Practice makes perfect. Force yourself to write more slowly and pay special attention to every single letter. Write the alphabet as many times as you can, trying to make improvements each time. If certain letters or words give you trouble, write them over and over working hard to correct them and make them legible. As far as spelling, have friends and family quiz you whenever they're around, write down words that are difficult for you, and read read read! The best way to expand and perfect your vocabulary is to read. Good luck!

What is grammatically incorrect with the following sentence?

"a. It ends with a preposition."
----- That's a grammar MYTH. It's perfectly acceptable to end sentences with prepositions EXCEPT when removing the preposition DOESN'T change the meaning. "Go out" is a phrasal verb anyway. That's not considered the same as ending a sentence with a preposition.

With your example, you can't remove out because it becomes unclear what you are asking (for example, I omitted about from that sentence because 'what you are asking' means EXACTLY the same thing as 'what are you asking about.') That's when you SHOULDN'T end sentences with prepositions. But as I said above, phrasal verbs are a completely different usage. You're only other option would be to replace out with a noun as in 'going to the bar.'

"b. The infinitive "to go" should be split by an adverb."
----- Well, the MYTH is that infinitives CAN'T be split, but it's just a MYTH. At the same time, it's not required that you split infinitives with adverbs

"c. The phrasal verb "go out" is casual English and as such, it should only be used in speech, never in writing. "
----- That depends entirely on who you ask. It doesn't apply to your example anyway because it's CLEARLY INFORMAL, whether it's speech or written dialog. Informal doesn't mean incorrect. The words "you two" are the MOST INFORMAL part of that question. You is plural and two isn't needed at all. It should be 'the two of you' if you MUST phrase it that way.

"d. There is nothing grammatically wrong with this sentence"
----- This IS the CORRECT answer. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it grammatically. 'To go' is really unnecessary. It conveys the EXACT SAME meaning as "what time are you going out?"

I've scored 6.5 in IELTS writing more than once. How do I improve my score to 7 - 7.5?

This test lasts for 60 minutes. To aid your training in the IELTS review center, here are IELTS practice writing tips that you can follow to achieve your band score goal.1.Scan details carefullyExamine and make sure that you understand the information presented in each task. Scan the material to capture the theme and concept behind the content. Take note of significant details, such as figures, names, or points of argument that you will need when presenting your answers.2.Select your best ideaIn an IELTS review center, instructors will teach you the importance of identifying and focusing on the main idea of your message. This will help you write a clear explanation of your response. Do not write everything you know. Instead, aim for the best explanation of your ideas.3.Follow the prescribed formatMany students encounter formatting issues in the Writing section. The key is to strictly follow the prescribed style of writing to avoid losing marks. For the IELTS Academic test, students are required to write their responses for both Tasks 1 and 2 in a formal style. Meanwhile, for the IELTS General Training exam, students can write in personal, semi-formal, or formal style.4.Observe the word countThis is the easiest tip to follow yet many people still fail to do so. For Task 1, you are required to write at least 150 words. For Task 2, your essay should be composed of at least 250 words. Take note of these word counts because you will lose precious marks if you do not follow the instruction.5.Manage your timePractice writing in limited time conditions. This will help you acclimate to the exam demand. Remember to leave yourself some time to reread and proofread your work. Always check your work for grammar, consistency, and fluency.

How Can I Improve My Essay Writing Skills?

That's a really good question to ask, and I think it's great that you're looking to improve your talents. :)

One of the best ways to improve your writing is to read good writing. Ask a few English teachers for some suggestions of good essays to look at or examples that he/she has saved from previous classes. If possible, I would try to schedule a conference with the English teacher to ask for any tips she has to offer. I'm sure she'd be thrilled that you're asking for help and would love to talk about your style of writing.

One of the things that people have a lot of trouble with is transitioning within a paper. After you write something, try to do something else for a while. Then come back and read it again after you have been away from the writing for a bit. Pretend that you're reading the essay for the first time, and note any problem spots a first-time reader would have. Was anything hard to follow or did the focus seem to suddenly change directions?

Another problem is often organization. Try writing outlines before you start papers. Do a lot of brainstorming and drafting to make sure you know exactly what you will be talking about. I like to use markers to make outlines because then it seems a bit fun... Haha.

Sometimes, tenses are a bit confusing. Normally, you should be writing in the present tense, so pay attention to your verbs and be consistent.

Ask your family to read through your essays and give you any suggestions. Sometimes suggestions are not very helpful (depending on if the reader knows how to constructively criticize), so you'll need a few people to read through the essay. Taking a paper to your teacher before the assignment is due will help you understand exactly what she wants for the final copy.

I hope these suggestions help :)

My writing skills in English is very poor. What should I do?

As you have not stated about your grammatical skills, it is highly that my answer could not be to the point. To excel and aggranadize in your writing skills, practice the following conducts.1: Always firstly try to jot down the ideas inside your brain (intelligent ones) onto paper, preferably (if begginer) ,in your first or mothertongue language. It will ease down your 40% of work.2:Having done with the first step, now try to sequel wise the points in the priority wise. Like, if you are writing essay on a (Social importance of online sites or apps) you will have to sequel wise the necessary points in a neat and fashionly order such as(i). What are social sites. Define it and zoom in little about it.(ii). Their need in today’s world.(iii). What changes are prompting them to be part of our lives .(iv). How they are helping homo sapiens in interacting with others in this social orb.(v). What fruitful benefits we can/or are reaping from such apps.(vi). Are they boon or bane for mankind.3:Now, comes the trickier part ,that is , how to paraphrase these points into well dressed essay. For that, one must have cyclopean sphere of new jargon words or idioms or synonyms for similar meanings and this can be achieved by reading english newspaper everyday ,highlighting the exotic words and by looking for the meaning of same in dictionary and grasping it OR by listening english songs(i used to listen NICKI MINAJ).4: After gaining some hands at few new words, now it’s time to update and sharpen your grammatical portion as most of students are just trapped in these parts of speech like verbs ,adverbs etc. So, for this try to prepare recipe cards with definitions of latter written on them and plz do take look at them when you are going to sleep or when you are going to have your breakfast. It helps a lot trust me!5:NEXT, PRACTICE AND PRACTICE AS PRACTICE MAKES A MAN PERFECT.

Why am I bad at writing English essays?

Ask your teacher exactly what the problem is. Yes it might be due to the personal preferences of the teachers..but it might also be technical things that you can fix (below a certain grade its usually technical, grammar+). Also - try writing outside of school (NOT fanfiction though.. as there are some core differences to original stories that might make it harder if you struggle to write original essays in the first place) so that you can have some experience with actually writing. And remember that you have to learnt to crawl before you learn to walk (and run.. which also takes a child a long time).. so you won’t get good at it immediately (never mind that when or if you get to college levels the requirements and how you’re supposed to write change). Also try reading writing tips and such; How long should I plan my novel before I start writing it? This a novel but the general tips should also work. Perhaps you need to plan more, perhaps you need to plan less (which is a big part of the tips; what an author needs to write and concentrate well is entirely individual. Some needs complete quiet to be able to concentrate but others need noise and a mess enviroment. Some needs to plan things down to the last detail while others just need the idea or a general outline.. and so on. Perhaps you need to read more on the type of essay you’re writing or perhaps you need a better spelling program (or whatever). As for it being a skill or a talent.. some do have a talent (a student in my high school class could write a top grade essay just before class) but unless they nurture it and challenge themselves (instead of just getting it over with) they’ll sooner or later hit a point where they’ll start to struggle. Most do have to learn though.. so.. try asking your teacher if you can go more in-depth with your essays so that you understand where you went wrong and what you can work on for your next essay (cause just the grade can be absolutely useless when it comes to being able to get better).

What are the consequences of incorrect sentence structure?

The word “incorrect” when applied to languages in general and to sentence structure in particular has two meanings:Malformed - it is neither predicted/permissible by the speaker’s grammar nor the listener’s grammar. Sometimes the actual meaning can be easily inferred, e.g. “they sees us coming” can easily be understood to mean that the speaker means to convey “they see etc.” If the sentence is malformed in a manner that is not reconstructable, then the only consequence is misunderstanding. The solution to those is having a simple kind conversation about what was the intended meaning.Socially under-privileged - this is the case you’re probably referring to. These are linguistic forms which are perceived to be a part of some “low layer” of the language at best or “a mistake” at worst by one or two of the speaking party. The underlying reasons for that are racism, if the person is indeed motivated to segregate language according to socio-economic and racial origins; sometimes people do it “on auto-pilot” because it’s socially expected - some languages have cultures which actively promote “correcting bad grammar” in a manner that would make Europeans and Americans gawk. For instance, Black English is considered socially under-privileged in the U.S. by many speakers for the obvious reason explained above (racism). Any linguistic form can receive any social prestige level, just like how the “thou/thee” archaism is highly privileged because of its association with the King James Bible (but, say, in the 18th century was associated with rustic low classes) or how a word like “literally” in its use as intensifier (“I’m literally gonna kill the next guy who insists on the literal meaning of literally”) suddenly became lower-privileged, theoretically licensing its correction in society. In brief, there are no consequences. Incorrect sentence structures appear in such a huge part of natural language that it cannot possibly hinder too much comprehension. How do I know? Passively listen/record a conversation then transcribe it - you are likely to find many incorrect formations.

How to improve basic spelling & grammar?

Your reading IS helping! Writing professors say you have to read good writing to become a good writer.

You can further strengthen your grammar and spelling by going back over passages you have read and studying how the words you are unsure of are spelled. Challenge yourself to keep a dictionary near your computer or work desk and look up any word you need support for. I also reread what I write. Often I think I have typed in a word or letter, but it didn't show up on the page, and it needs to be added. Sometimes extra letters show up, and occasionally I leave out phrases I was sure I put in the text. So double checking makes a difference.

Then, when you start college, you can take those English classes that will shore up your skills. Reading, spelling, and grammar are all taught in college classes now. So many parents had fits when their children didn't pass a grade in school that schools gave up on trying to see that each child had the basic skills.

Even though your own parents might not have behaved that way, the ones who did set up a terrible precedent for the rest of the classes who followed. It's so ubiquitous now that colleges have been forced to teach these basic skills so their students can even read their assignments. Never mind actually graduate!

You can find a dictionary for bad spellers, too. I gave it to a friend for her birthday once, she said it helped her a lot. She is now a secretary. There is a section here on Y/A that helps with these skills, too. If your reading is any indication, and I assure it is, you are well on your way to becoming the writer you want to be.

Does e-mail encourage poor grammar and spelling?

A lot of people will come down on you for nit-picking in this question, but I agree with you. There's no real reason not to click on spell check and just read over your answer once before submitting. I don't talk TOO much about it anymore as I just end up feeling like a dog chasing his tail. Your words are a representation of you, and on-line, it's mostly the ONLY representation you have. Why not present yourself as best as possible?

P.S. The only time it's acceptable is text messaging. I write EVERYTHING phonetically or it would take all day. :-)
