I Am Romanian And I Have An Idea To Reconcile Romania With Her Former European Adversaries It

Is a union between Romania and Moldova possible in the current political context?

It might be imaginable, and it could conceivably work to the decided benefit of Moldovans. Being citizens of a European Union member-state would give them guaranteed access to the markets of the European Union, and as one of the poorest regions of the European Union a Romanian Moldova would get huge volumes of public investments. Being part of Romania would presumably secure Moldovan democracy, and anchor it strongly in Europe.1. What of Transnistria and Gagauzia? How would these largely pro-Russian regions be reconciled? Gagauzia, maybe, but Transnistria is already a Russian protectorate. How can it be convinced to go along? 2. What of Moldovan Romanian-speakers themselves? They might well see benefits to continuing to maintain a separate state, including a higher profile internationally than as a mere Romanian region. Moldovan Romanian-speakers, for better or for worse, do share a common history that separates them from Romanians. Perhaps they might choose to keep that up.3. What of Romania? Are Romanians really ready to make the massive expenditures--of money, time, military resources, diplomatic support, et cetera--to make Moldovan union with Romania work?4. Finally, what of external factors? How could Russia be reconciled to this? Perhaps more germanely still, what of the European Union? The Federal Republic of Germany had to consult with its neighbours in 1990 before annexing East Germany, and Romania would have to do the same.

I need world war 1 information by November 2 2007?

World War I, also known as the First World War, the Great War and the War To End All Wars, was a global military conflict which took place primarily in Europe from 1914 to 1918. Over 40 million casualties resulted, including approximately 20 million military and civilian deaths. The conflict had a decisive impact on the history of the 20th century.

The Entente Powers, led by France, Russia, the United Kingdom and its colonies and dominions, and later Italy (from 1915) and the United States (from 1917), defeated the Central Powers, led by the Austro-Hungarian, German, and Ottoman Empires. Russia withdrew from the war after the revolution in 1917.

The fighting that took place along the Western Front occurred along a system of trenches, breastworks, and fortifications separated by an area known as no man's land.[2] These fortifications stretched 475 miles (more than 600 kilometres)[2] and defined the war for many. On the Eastern Front, the vast eastern plains and limited rail network prevented a trench warfare stalemate, though the scale of the conflict was just as large as on the Western Front. The Middle Eastern Front and the Italian Front also saw heavy fighting, while hostilities also occurred at sea, and for the first time, in the air.

The war caused the disintegration of four empires: the Austro-Hungarian, German, Ottoman and Russian. Germany lost its colonial empire and states such as Czechoslovakia, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Yugoslavia gained independence. The cost of waging the war set the stage for the breakup of the British Empire as well and left France devastated for more than a generation.

World War I marked the end of the world order which had existed after the Napoleonic Wars, and was an important factor in the outbreak of World War II.

Why are people from Italy and Spain not considered "Latin"?

You ask: Why are people from Italy and Spain not considered “Latin”?The adjective “Latin” in itself comes from the… Latin language Latini, basically indicating the inhabitants of Latium, which is the Italian region around Rome currently named Lazio.Lazio in Italy (From Wikimedia Commons: File:Lazio in Italy.svg)By extension, “Latin” usually applies to some European countries which were deeply influenced by ancient Romans, therefore Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Romania. The influence is still quite evident today just looking at the languages being spoken in those countries.By further extension, “Latin” applies also to countries in central-south America which were “influenced” (or rather colonized) mainly by Spain and Portugal in the past centuries. But for some reason, people in the U.S.A. often use “Latin” (or similar words) as an adjective actually meaning “American Latin”, thus restricting its meaning to the countries (and people) in the American continent. Quite obviously, neither Italy nor Spain (nor France, Portugal and Romania) are in America.
