I Am Sleepy All The Time

I am 39. Why am I sleepy all the time?

I don't know anyone over the age 25 who doesn't feel sleepy quite often. But you don't have to. There's many reasons why you could be lacking sleep, or maybe just lacking quality sleep. Here are some things I've noticed: 1. Your body needs more sleep than your getting, or oppositely, your sleeping too much. http://www.m.webmd.com/sleep-dis...2. The sleep your getting is affected by the types of light you've been exposed to throughout the day. http://sleepfoundation.org/sleep...3. Your getting too little exercise. 4. Not eating enough nutritious food. http://www.m.webmd.com/food-reci...5. You drink a lot of caffeine, particularly late in the day. You smoke tobacco.6. Medications (even common pain relievers like ibuprofen) can disrupt your bodies normal rhythm. 7. You have a disease like diabetes, depression, kidney or liver problems, or a heart or lung condition. 8. You have chronic stress. I could go on and on with potential reasons - these are just a few of dozens. Try to keep a log of your basic activities, food, sleep hours, and stress levels, plus when you are feeling sleepy throughout each day. If you notice a pattern, like "every time I have breakfast from a drive-thru, I feel more tired throughout the day", then you can change that pretty easily. If you don't see any pattern, talk to your doctor for some testing. Good luck! It's worth it to figure this out.

I feel sleepy all the time. What should I do?

Well, I won’t go into any medical aspect here (that you are ill with some disease) assuming you don’t mean it literally. I would rather try to get the context and answer your question. It is unusual and unnatural that you are sleepy all the time and it may occur to any human being only in following circumstances:1. You don’t have anything to do or rather I would say you have not been assigned to do something (We all have this habit of doing an assigned work, though unwillingly).2. May be you are not involving yourself into something that you love to do.3. Recently you have finished working over a huge task and now you are on a vacation.Whatever possible the reason may be, you have to help yourself with something called Self-Motivation. It is very easy to be self-motivated if we develop it as a habit. In your case, following can be done to get out of the sheets.1. Take up 2 or 3 sports and see what interests you. You will love stealing some time from your sleep for this activity.2. Gift yourself a visit to Mumbai railway station at 5.00 am and observe that many have already started earning for their livelihood.3. If you have the habit of getting up late, force yourself to get up one day early to realize how big is the day and how much extra can be done in the time you could have easily wasted sleeping.4. Many have been struggling for long with insomnia. Sleep is an essential part to sustain our life and godly feeling to hit the bed when you are tired and really sleepy.5. Watch this TED talk show to understand the important of sleep and know how great mornings can be and also it will show how to develop any habit like a boss. https://www.youtube.com/watch?ti...6. I will not tell you to start reading a book until you work on above options otherwise you will still be all-time-sleepy guy.Lastly, even after trying all above,if you are not able to cure this problem, join a B-school. It would be a nice wake up call. They will leave no stone unturned to eat your time to make you a better person and to your surprise you will still be sleepy all the time but you will not hate it in the long run.

Why am i so darn sleepy all the time?

An average person just need 6-9 hours of sleep. Sometimes when you sleep too much, you still feel tired when you wake up. Try 7-8 hours a night. Also, you're at that age where your body is changing. So, it'll go away.. *You might also feel sleepy 1hr after a big meal, because of increased blood flow to your stomach. Try some tea/coffee (don't drink too much coffee though).

Feeling sleepy all the time?

You may not feel better until you revamp the way you eat. It could be your blood sugar making some wide swings.

As for the vitamins, if you take too much of some of them (like B6 and A), they can cause nerve damage, which will resolve itself when you back off taking so much. Instead of hoping the vitamins will take up the slack, you need to get them from good food, because there are other substances that come along with them in that food to help it all work, and vitamin manufacturers can't isolate or even identify much of it.

Be kind to your body; it's the only one you get.

Why do I feel tired and sleepy all the time?

There are lots of health complaints that can make you feel tired. Not just the well-recognised ones like anaemia and thyroid problems, but also more surprising ailments, such as diabetes, food intolerance and a sleeping disorder called sleep apnoea. Being overweight or underweight can cause tiredness. That’s because your body has to work harder than normal to do everyday activities. If you’re underweight, you have less muscle strength, and you may feel tired more quickly. Pregnancy, especially in the first 12 weeks, can also sap your energy. Psychological tiredness is far more common than tiredness that's caused by a physical problem. One key reason is anxiety, which can cause insomnia and, in turn, lead to persistent fatigue. A survey by the Mental Health Foundation found that nearly a third of the population are severely sleep-deprived, often because of job and money worries. The Foundation’s report, Sleep Matters, suggests a link between insomnia and low energy levels. The worries and strains of daily life can be exhausting – even positive events, such as moving house or getting married. Emotional shock, such as bad news, bereavement or the break-up of a relationship, can make you feel drained. Mental health problems such as depression or anxiety can make you feel more tired. They can also prevent you from getting a proper night's sleep.
