If a Mexican prefers American culture to Mexican culture and prefers to speak English instead of Spanish, is he still a Mexican? Can he own a Mexican flag?
a) I Prefer american entertainment than national. Breaking Bad, Law and Order, Rick and morty, Game of Thrones etc. and your awesome movies The dark Knight, all marvel/disney stuff to name a few.I wish mexican tv had a show half as brilliant as just Rick and Morty’s show. I prefer the english version by far. I feel more at home writting in english than in spanish.I also write for Cracked.com - America's Only Humor Site now and then I also write my stories in english. I want to learn Norwegian (Bokmal and/or Nynorsk) and I heard a good way is to study from books and lessons, and listen to the language. Is there any way to watch like, The Avengers in Norwegian with English subtitles? Or any other good movie? Thanks.
Why aren't all subtitles available in all countries on Netflix? For example, a movie I watch in Sweden obviously has Swedish subtitles. But if I watched it in the USA, the Swedish subtitle option wouldn’t there.
There are too many languages to list them all in the menu and have the one you want be easily selected - especially when you are viewing on a TV with only a left-right-up-down remote. Accordingly, we show the commonly used languages in any country. In the US: English and Spanish when available.However, from Netflix - Account - LanguagePreferences on the website, you can set your UI language to Swedish, and then Swedish subtitles will also appear in the menu for content that has them available: The title must be available in the country where you are streaming, and the subtitle assets must exist in the language you want. Not all content in Sweden is available in the US, and not all content in the US has Swedish subtitles available.This also works for dubs for languages like Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, and Japanese where dubs are preferred to subtitles - again, only when the language is available for the content you are watching.

You're lucky, I'm from Quebec and my wife from China. The french at the beginning is total gibberish, just saying a bunch of words fast, there's not even a sentence in there. The Chinese, at the end, in Mandarin, is just as bad. He's ordering two lobsters, then the waiter says so you want neck napkins cause of the lobsters and he says something that remains a mystery to a native Mandarin speaker from Beijing. lol

In the options on your Netflix account, you should put the language of the ap in Spanish. With this Spanish will be available in a lot more movies and series.If you keep your netflix account in English, the ap will only propose you Spanish language for movies and series that were originaly made in Spanish.

In my experience, a lot. But it varies depending on sociocultural background.People in less urbanized societies or with less access to Internet, foreign television or content, are less open to American cultural influences than those who have access to cable, Netflix, Amazon and have traveled to America for vacation, studies, business, or leisure.In my personal case, I have received every opportunity since childhood to absorb, understand and integrate the American culture into my everyday way of life. Music, movies, technology, language, vacationing… America has always been there. I have been able to speak, read and write English fluently and with very little accent since age 10. I probably know more US cities than many Americans. My musical and entertainment tastes are probably more akin to the average American than to the average Mexican. But that is just the way I was taught and the opportunities I had.Many Mexicans do not enjoy this opportunities and live and thrive with the local options of entertainment, education and cultural influences. Many dislike music in English because the do not understand it and prefer local music and performers. Movies are often seen dubbed in Spanish, loosing most of the original cultural content and topicalizing the message to fit the story and satisfy local humor or cultural tidbits.Most everybody know a word or two in English and will aid and help any American traveler with sincerity and almost devotion as per our conquered country upbringing (I’m not kidding) but every interaction with Americans will also always have an undertone of resentment and desire to show superiority.All in all, just like Americans love tacos, Mexicans love Burgers and HotDogs. Just like Americans find Mexican music “amusing” many people listen to American music and hits as curious catchy beats. And there are many immigrants that have returned after living in America for many years that bring with them their leanings from the American society and create an interesting mix of cultural influences.

There was an entire era of these films, mostly unknown today. So an uncanny ability to work with media was evident in the Mexican population from the beginning.Back to Mexico, the first radio station was XEW. Out of that same company, Telesistema Mexicano (later Televisa) was founded in 1955. One of the things they did still very early was dub shows in English. They became very adept at that.Mexican dubbing has prided itself for being “off-script” to translate jokes to local cultural norms pretty much since the beginning, and practice and re-practice the dubbing so that it matches the start/stop of the lips as close as possible while keeping the director’s intent (nowadays with computerized animated films and videogames, sometimes studios do similar things during the rendering process itself, like putting a soccer game on a TV instead of a hockey game).Other Spanish speaking countries just dub directly as written, which ends up sounding less natural.
