http://www.wisegeek.com/what-should-i-know-about-moldy-bread.htm
Some molds which appear on breads are perfectly harmless and safe to eat, but others secrete mycotoxins which can make people sick. Depending on the mold, consuming moldy bread may simply result in a stomach ache, or it could cause more serious health problems. Since identifying molds requires access to a laboratory with a microscope and staining solutions, it's better to simply discard breads which have mold on them, rather than to try and figure out if moldy bread is safe. Other foods like fruits should also be thrown away if they have begun to mold. The exception to this rule is hard cheese, because the molds which grow on hard cheeses are usually harmless, so the moldy section can simply be cut off. People who prefer to err on the safe side may want to discard moldy hard cheeses as well.

I just ate something moldy, will I be ok? (details)?

I bought a cake last night, a chocolate cake with non-dairy chocolate whipped topping, 'fresh' strawberries and strawberry glaze.
I ate seven pieces of it myself. (I've had a bad day, ok) I ate a strawberry off the last piece of cake and noticed it kinda tasted funny, a little bit like dirt. I was putting the last piece of cake into the fridge when I noticed the frosting was covered in mold. I now know that the strawberry was moldy.
I have learned now that I need to look at something before I eat it. :|
Anyway, my stomach is kinda hurting, but I don't know if this is just my mind playing tricks on me or what.
I ate the cake about half an hour ago. Will I be ok or is there any medicine I should take?
Thanks

What happens if you eat moldy bread?

If you noticed a little bit of blue or green mold on a piece of bread you already started eating - probably nothing will happen to you. I would, of course, not eat it and through out the rest of the bag - but that much is not going to kill you.

If you intentionally ate several slices of bread covered in mold - you would ate least get a stomach ache, an possibly through up.

Congratulate yourself, though - mold doesn't grow on the really refined-white-flour cheap bread - only on good bread made with fresh ingredients and no preservatives.

As with a lot of things, this is a matter of degrees, as well as other factors. If a dog eats a muffin and the muffin cup it came in, it’s unlikely to cause much problem, unless the dog is a Chihuahua or Yorkie or other tiny dog, where that amount of paper is a significant size compared to their body and organ size.If a dog eats a newspaper, it could be bad because it can cause a huge blockage, it can absorb a lot of their body fluid and dehydrate them, cause massive constipation, and even the ink can be detrimental. If the dog eats a magazine, the glossy, heavier weight paper can retain its sharp edges and cut their esophagus, stomach or intestines. If they eat tissues or paper towels, again, it can block their intestines. These are life-threatening situations, and must be dealt with by a veterinarian very quickly, because the dog’s life can very well be in jeopardy. If your dog eats something that is shouldn’t, like paper or a sock, what many vets will recommend is to induce vomiting by putting peroxide into your dog. But I would encourage you to always check with your vet, or an emergency vet clinic before doing anything yourself - better still, bring your dog to the vet, to have peace of mind!

My dog ate some food that had mold on it. Is it going to make him sick?

Dog training are excellent and very helpful to build you a stronger relationship with your dog. Read more https://tinyurl.im/Ufd0i

After I started training my dog, he became very attached to me and loves to stay by side as long as he can. But just going to them won't help. You have to practice what they teach you outside of the class and you need to keep up with it at least every now and then after the class ends otherwise they'll just go back to previous habits. This course is a really good place to go for dog obedience classes. It get's your dog around other people and dogs to socialize while getting the training you need. As for electric collars, I would say to not get one. In my experience, they're only a negative effect on your dog. I mean of course you're going to need to correct your dog, but being positive and encouraging your dog works a lot faster and easier.

Every dog is different, so unless you have a german shepherd or a really smart dog, it might take a while to train her. You might get frustrated with her, but go easy. She's still a puppy and has a lot of energy. A backyard or somewhere to run will help her get rid of a lot of energy that might cause her to misbehave from boredom.

What happens if i just accidentally ate part of a moldy bagel?

Actually, you COULD get pretty sick, but that would really rare. Cnances are, it won't have any affect on you. You may possibly have a little stomach trouble, but it can probably be dealt with by pepto or tums or something. My husband recently ate some peach pie that my mother gave him (I HAVE warned him, but he doesn't listen) and it turned out to have some mold in it. He drank a couple of cokes and felt better, but still not "up to par" for a few hours-but basically he was just a little "yucky." If he had taken some pepto, he would have been perfectly fine.

Before I tell you my opinion on this matter please note that I am not a medical professional, and anything I say is only based on my experience on research and mold inspections, not medical advice… so the short answer is to ask a doctor if you are concerned. Most people eat moldy bread at least a few times in their lives. I know I have. Fortunately I was ok and didn’t suffer any affects.Mold is very complicated and it is difficult to know how one mold will affect one person compared to another. The reason for this is because there are literally thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of types of mold and each one affects everyone person differently. If you have an allergy, I would suspect that you would know right away as you would immediately begin to feel some sort of reaction. I would also suspect that it would depend on the amount of mold you ate.At the same time it is well documented that you should not (if at all possible) consume, touch or inhale mold as it can be toxic. For peace of mind, see a doctor, let him/her know what happened and have a blood test done.As mentioned I am not a doctor, but this is what I would do.Hope this helps…

If Maura Rudd’s suggestion doesn’t work because it’s actually so moist it won’t slice, I’d just scoop it into a pan and cook it a bit more to get rid of at least some moisture/fat and maybe get a nice brown on it and make a meatloaf sandwich out of it.You could also just make it into a shepherd’s pie of sorts. In fact, that would be a great idea for filling a Thermos for lunch. Just layer the bottom with the meatloaf, add in some steamed peas and carrots, top it with mashed potatoes (maybe a little cheese if you/your kiddos like it… it’s already a mock shepherd’s pie, so feel free to deviate) and call it a day.One thing I’d try (fully admitting I don’t know how it would work, but I’d try) is scooping it into muffin tins and cooking it a bit more that way to see if you can firm it up, then using mashed potatoes to “frost” it like a meatloaf cupcake. You could even garnish it with some steamed veggies or green onion “sprinkles.” If it works, it might be cute and tasty.

There are many, many types of mold. Some will cause n upset stomach, some may be toxic in large doses, some are completely benign, and some are the source of penicillin and other antibiotics. The latter ones may help clean up any infections you may have. Or they may just kill off a portion of your intestinal bacteria, and give you the runs.Interestingly, bread mold is such a good source of penicillin, that long before antibiotics and disease mechanisms were discovered, doctors would wrap the organs of men who had syphilis, with moldy bread. That would often clear up the disease. In any case, the amount of superficial mold which you may have eaten with one or two brownies is so small, that it is unlikely to have any effect on your body at all. Most likely, it was destroyed on contact with your stomach acids. You have undoubtedly already excreted the residues.Nevertheless, if you dwell on worrying about it and convince yourself that you have ingested some deadly poison, you might very well psych yourself into feeling sick or having cramps or having diarrhea or something else unpleasant. Quit fussing. Have a glass of milk, and go to bed. You’ll feel great in the morning.

Depends on the mold and what you did with it. Some molds produce so-called mycotoxins which can make you ill. Many of those are killed via heat, so if you cooked a moldy food it'd likely taste like crap but won't kill you or make you very sick. The dose, as Paracelsus said, makes the poison. If the mold is new (~5h), the amount of mycotoxin on a small patch isn't dangerous. Large patches of mold, however, can make you vomit or have diarrhea.Cut it off and you're fine, mold is topical so if you remove the patch you're fine to eat the food (within reason, there's a cause for mold, did you leave to food out too long?).Lastly, some food require mold (not every mold is bad, penicillin is derived from mold, blue cheese is moldy by design, and many dry cured meats develop surface molds), so you'd have to be a little bit more specific :)
