I Bought A Dress Recently I Really Need Some Style Advice

I need advice on Halloween Costumes!?

You might not have time now as your cutting it close but keep this idea for next year. I had mine made and took my idea to a taylor It was the victorian style era. and the crennelin underneath with long black fish net gloves a fan and a feather in my floppy hat. and a wig. and then the makeup on the face of course and a neck broach. I studied a picture i liked and picked out the material i like which happen to be all leopard hehe and had it done. I won first prize. and so be it at the same party was a victorian style dressed man and we had our picture taken together.

if time is short. go to a vintage type store found in any big city. look for something you like and big around the skirt area so you can buy the crennalin and put it in yourself. white gloves any major dept. store will have. Tiara any jewelry store the ones in the malls not the real diamond and gold jewelry stores.

So your best bet again for the different style dress try the thrift or vintage store. If you can sew or get a taylor thats a plus. if all else fails go to a sewing place pick out the pattern you want and fabric and give it to your taylor he'll do your measurements and have it done.l You may have to tip him a bit more so he will rush your order condsidering your running out of time.
GOood luck.

Accidentally bought the same prom dress as someone else? Advice?

I finally found a dress for my senior prom, which is in 2 weeks, but when I posted it in the group I got a message from a sophomore who's going. She said she already bought that dress. I asked her if she minded (and clearly she did).

She said she felt bad because she's a sophomore and I'm a senior, but she's in love with the dress and already got it tailored. She also thinks it would be super awkward if we wore the same dress.

I've never met this girl (I go to a big school). There will definitely be around 350 students at prom so I really don't think it's that big of a deal. I'm a really laid back person when it comes to prom, I just don't think I'll have time to go find another dress.

She seems like she's one of those "popular" girls who thinks prom is everything, and she's being kind of a b*tch about it over facebook. I would feel bad, but she's only a sophomore, and will have 2 other proms.

Is it bad if I still wear the dress even though I bought it second? I'm so busy finishing up high school right now, and I don't think I'll be able to get a new one in time. I just want to have a good time with my friends at our senior prom, and I don't think I'll ever see the other girl.

She just can't really put the situation into perspective since she's never been to a prom, and hasn't figured out that it's really not that big of a deal.

Am I right?

Buy replacement windows (non-standard size) online? Need advice...?

Hello All -

I have a home built in the 1950's, which (unfortunately) has the original 1959, single-paned, now rotting, Pella awning-style windows. Bottom line - they need to be replaced! They are rotting, drafty, half won't open due to warping, etc... and most annoyingly, when it's very cold they actually ice over INSIDE, then melt and run down my walls... wheeeeeeeee! :)

So.... I've had quotes from window companies ranging from $7,800 - $11,000 for a full set of replacement (awning-style - which I prefer!) windows. Obviously these quotes include installation. And unfortunately, are WAY above my budget. My FIRST challenge - the windows are an oddball size: they are 44"w x 29" tall (non-standard size). Home Depot / Lowes, local hardware stores - NO ONE stocks this size window. And heck, to special order them from Lowes (I'd have to buy a Pella window, due to the oddball size, and it would cost as much, if not more than going with one of the quotes from the original professional companies here in town.) My SECOND challenge is that this house and the market / neighborhood it's in cannot support a $10,000 investment in new windows. (Meaning, even in 10 years, I couldn't recover the cost of the windows if I sold the home.)

Therefore, my mission impossible is to locate someone (online dealer?) that sells odd-ball sized windows without having to go to a pricey Pella window. I just want a reliable, opens-every-time, slightly more energy efficient, double paned window. I won't be in this home more than 10 years, I don't want to put in a set of $10k professionally installed windows and take a loss on them... any suggestions? Anyone bought sturdy, vinyl, awning-style windows from online retailer?

PS - I'm fairly confident my dad can install them for me... he's very handy (think Holmes-on-Homes!)

Thanks!

PLEASE!!!!! if you wish to hep me i need help understanding girl clothes and styles email me!! i need a mentour

Im a 17 year old boy and I need some fashion advice.?

Alrighty, I'm an 18 year old girl who is into pretty classic styled guys, nothing too out there and you're on the right track with that polo. I'd say ditch the backwards cap and ponder the following:
1. Go for classic looks, not neccessarily preppy, but have the staple of a nice pair of darkwash jeans with no creepy embellishments that aren't super tight but are tailored and fit nicely. No pants falling down your *** please. Add to that just a white tee-shirt and a classic, collarless leather jacket. This is the most attractive thing on a guy -- slap on some aviators and its timelessly handsome.
2. Here's to get a little funky, try and find unique shirts: one of my best guy friends has a shirt with Carelton from the fresh prince on it, while he is a total tall and lanky nerd, his shirt is noticeable. So pick stuff that's unique. Just wear a cool tee with some tailored jeans (bootcut, dont wear chick pants) and some converse -- instantly cool.
3. Get a good collection of polos, but don't go for the douchebag pastels, get classic colors like the red you have and a navy blue. You can have a little fun, just be careful.
Okay so just to break it down here are your essentials:
-- Tailored jeans that fit YOU.
-- Get a pair of aviators for looking classic and ray ban type sunglasses to look funky
-- have a few signature graphic tees that are unique
-- have a few polos for when you want to look nice
-- pair of black converse
-- and just remember, nice jeans and a white tee is all you need!

Can you give some advice about men's dress and fashion?

take the time to make sure your clothes fit and are properly altered. Proper fit can make affordable clothes look great and a poor fit can make expensive clothes look like shite.Every man should have one suit even if it is for weddings or funerals. Navy of mid to dark grey are best.Every man should have at least one blazer or sport coat. Navy. Incredibly flexible in lieu of wearing a suit.Proper sleeve length on shirts. Nothing worse than a shirt hanging down to your finger tips or way above your wrist looking like you shrunk it in the wash.Pay attention to how your pants and trousers fit. Many men wear their pants too long and they do not pay attention to the leg opening. Shorter men need to consider tapering the legs, usually from the knee to the leg opening. Nothing worse than too long and too large leg openings because the pants can in a 36 inch inseam and you have a 29.5 inseam. It is not just about cutting off a shitload of fabric and hemming them.No grey sport coats. This is incredibly hard to pull off and has limited flexibility when putting outfits together. Avoid. No black suits. Choose charcoal if you want that almost black look but it will be deeper, richer and less stark.Embrace pink shirts. It is one colour men avoid and they shouldn’t.Make sure your suit jacket or sport coat covers your ass. You ain’t Thom Browne, the shrunken look is not for you.Avoid impulse buying. Put thought into what you buy so you won’t regret it. Just because you see something from Tom Ford on deep discount don’t buy it because of the name. It probably is on deep discount because everybody else thought it was fugly and avoided it. Designers make ugly things too.Don’t cheap out on your shoes, your feet will thank you. Better shoes will last longer, look better and you can have them resoled and recrafted instead of pitching them in the bin when they wear out.Fit, fit, fit, fit, fit

I'm going for a job at a clothing store I really like. Should I wear their clothes to the interview or it that weird?

Absolutely wear their clothes. Never show up for an interview at a branded retailer wearing anything that is their competition.  Do your homework by shopping their store online and if possible, at retail, then talk about your experience

Where/how can I find cheap but classy clothes? I want to look really classy but I don't want to spend a fortune. Any tips?

Its easy, go for second hand clothes (thrifting). You might be amazed by what classy clothes you might get. From Nikes to Ralph Laurance , you get everything out here, all you need is patience and knowing what you need otherwise it can be overwhelming. Here are some of the stuffs I boughtblazer - 500 rupees, tie - 50 rupees, waistcoat - 50 rupees , pocket square - 20 rupeeslevis denim jacket - 500 rupeesI hope it helped and if you want to learn more about how to stay stylish without breaking the bank then read my blogs herethrift|Nagaland|mens fashion
