Well "good configuration" depends on the purpose you are buying the laptop for.You have not put any light on what you expect out of the computer or what are the main tasks you will perform on that computer.Most (not all) of the laptops having screen size below 15" are netbooks that do not offer much powerful processing although they have a great battery life. I have used a netbook having display 10" and it is a pain to use the small cramped keyboard and touchpad. When it came to do heavy task the netbook cried.Remember most of the laptops below 15" do not offer the optical drive facility.Almost all laptop brands now have below 15" laptops in the market. One of the most popular below 15" laptop is Macbook-13",but that will cost you above INR 50K.But there is one powerful alternate (and I think its the best suited for you) that is ThinkPad series by Lenovo. (Earlier ThinkPad were made by IBM). They are less than 15",hardy,offers superb built quality,have powerful processing and have good battery too. Although its looks may not attract you.First check what are the major work you intend to do with the laptop. Then decide on the configuration. Try to take latest configurations so that it helps you in managing for atleast 3 years down the line without much hiccup.If your work is graphics intensive do go for a configuration with dedicated graphics card.And when you have done all the homework go to the market and check out the models and look which model you are comfortable with and matches your requirement.
