I cannot answer an ad on Craigslist or send an email msg?

Craigslist uses a bad procedure in their pages called "mailto:". It uses the default email program to send email. Many people using Yahoo mail have the default set to an email program (Outlook Express, etc) that they do not use. By installing Yahoo Toolbar you can set the default to Yahoo Mail.

The work around is to copy the link in Craigslist and paste it into the TO address in Yahoo Mail. Be sure to edit the address and remove "mailto:" and everything beginning at the "?subject=".

For example:
mailto:sale-123456789@craigslist.org?s...
change to:
sale-123456789@craigslist.org

Why I cannot email out to the ads on craigslist.?

Copy the e-mail contact link and paste it onto you e-mail and reply to it that way. So that is the way you can reply to ads because most people, for some reason, have to copy and paste the link then put it onto their e-mails.

How come I can't reply to craigslist ads?

I have the same problem....what the responders here are not understanding is that when you click on the "REPLY" button, a window is supposed to open to give you options to reply.....but when you try to open that window, nothing happens....I still haven t figured it out....... Also, when a "contact" (blue text) is supplied in the body of the listing, my computer will not open that either, but I can "right click" it and open it in a new window. That window opens in text only with the phone number, if it is within the body of the listing.

First a router has nothing to do with it.
Outlook Express is your default program thats why it brings that up when you click reply.
To change this, on your IE page, select tools>internet options>programs tab>and then select yahoo for your email instead of OE.
Or you can just set up your OE to receive email. Open OE up, select tools>accounts(or email accounts)>add new email account. follow the steps.
for yahoo you have to subscribe to yahoo plus to get your email through OE or any other mail program and thats 19.95 a year i believe (dont quote me on that)

Why can I not respond to Craigs List ads?

Many web sites use an HTML command called MAILTO:. It is an easy way to handle email since they do not have to design forms and handle the mail themselves. The command transfers to the "default" email program which is normally Outlook Express or Windows Mail on a PC. If you are using email at a web site it is easier to just copy down the address and the type it into the TO box manually.

Craigslist email addresses have this format: xxxx-aaaaa-1111111111@craigslist.org.
Just type it into the TO line.

Why cant i reply to a craigslist ad??

The Default has to be through using software Yahoo doesn`t offer anymore from downloading Messenger. Perhaps the software is still on your old hardrive. Set it up a slave and transfer it to your new hardrive. It is located in your Programs/Yahoo folder on c drive.

How do you reply to a add on craigs list?

There will be a link that says Reply to This Ad. Double click on it and a mesaage form will come up with the subject line showing the ad number and title. Fill in what you want in the messgae body and press 'Send'

Why is my craigslist ad not showing up?

Your ad got caught by one of the filters. There is a list of things that will cause your ad not to post. Don't put any links in the ad. Don't use lots of commas in your ad (place all the features of your car in a vertical list at the left side of the page with no commas) because spammers use commas. Put a price in the box on the main line for price. Don't cut and paste anything from another website. Don't put "warranty" information in your car ad. Don't put L@@K or !-!-!-! in the ad. Don't put a personal email address in the ad (use the CL email feature that they offer.)

Usually you have to delete the old ad and start over. Editing won't work.
