I Cant Stop Bottle Feeding My Cat Someone Help Me

Stop kitty! Help! Wont stop ripping nipple off my sons bottles!?

Here's what I would do. Have one or two bottle nipples reserved just for your kitten in which you're going to keep them out carelessly (keep the other ones for your son, and keep them safe out of the kitten's reach).

There is a taste deterrent you can get from the vet which is known as Topagen. Or, you can go to the pet store and get a product called "Bitter Apple". Or, you can make a mixture of your own by having about a cup of water with 1 or 2 drops of tea tree oil. None of these will hurt your kitten.

The nipples that you reserve for your kitten, cover it with any of the above suggestions. The next time your kitten sees a bottle nipple, its going to think "woo hoo! Milk!" but once he clamps his mouth on it, its going to leave him with a bad taste.

It may take a few times but eventually your kitten is going to learn that bottle nipples are disgusting and the habit should stop.

Hope this helps :)

Btw, just for the sake of facts being accurate, milk does not give cats worms. Most cats cannot digest dairy products very well so they tend to get diarrhea from it.

Cat eating nipples to baby bottle how to stop it?

I have a cat under a year old she likes to chew off the tips to the babys bottle I have yelled at her tossed the bottle at her (I know that sounds mean) she steals the bottle away from my baby she even steals them from the sink. We have been working on getting the baby off the bottle but she is not ready and the cat has already eaten 2 nipple tips and had emergency surgery twice since september. I also tried putting hot sause on the nipple so she wouldent like it. So far nothing has worked and ideas? I cant really afford another 5 thousand what should I do?

Help! My cat will not stop shredding whole rolls of toilet paper!?

My cat is 7 or 8 months old at this point, and we've had her since 5 weeks. Her mother was hit and killed by a car when she was 2 weeks, and her mother's owner could no longer care for 8 kittens needing bottle feeding. So, we took her and bottle fed and weened her.

Around the time she discovered how to jump, she discovered toilet paper was really fun to unravel. So, we placed the toilet paper on top of the tank, instead of on the holder. She soon learned how to get up there, knock it down, and tear it to pieces. So, we started putting it in the under-sink cabinet.

Well, putting it in the cabinet has worked - most of the time... But it has its drawbacks, and she sometimes gets in there and still finds it.

The drawbacks are, of course, forgetting to grab it out of the cabinet before going 1 or 2. LOL. And forgetting to put it back IN the cabinet.

Toilet paper is not safe in my house, and I can't tell you all the money I've wasted because it's her favorite toy!

A few facts about my cat:

1.) She does not like much human interaction. Does not like cuddling, does not like scratches, does not like playing directly with people. Loves my dogs, but will often nip if a person tries to handle her in any way.

She was hand raised - so figure that out.

2.) She has tons of toys and things to climb on.

3.) She has two willing playmates - a german shepherd and a pomeranian.

4.) She learned, successfully, that the coffee table and kitchen counter are off limits.

5.) She always uses her litter box.

My sister's two cats outgrew their toilet paper fascination fairly quickly. So, I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why she will not outgrow this! I have scolded her, and yes... she DOES know what NO, bad kitten, and her name mean!

Help! She just destroyed the last roll in the house and it's storming pretty bad outside and now I have to make the drive to the store in this horrible weather or not pee for the rest of the night. LOL.

My kitten won't suck on the bottle what can i do to feed it please help?

Is he old enough to eat on his own? If he is, then maybe he is not hungry. If he normally eats and has suddenly stopped, he may be sick, in which case you need to take him to the vet for some help. Is your kitty too small to eat on his own, like an orphaned kitten? If so, there are several things you can do to try to get him to eat. First of all DONT use an eyedropper. You can accidentally get milk into his lungs, which can kill him. You should be using milk made just for kittens, called KMR, which can be found at pet stores. Cow's milk is bad for cats. There are two types of nipples - long and short. If your kitten wont suck on one, try the other kind. He could be just fussy. You can also try rubbing him on the forehead or the back, the way mommy cat would if she was grooming him. Mom cats groom the babies to get them to eat. You can also try putting some Karo syrup on his lips to stimulate his hunger. If all of this does not work, your kitten could be sick and should see a vet as soon as possible.

Below I have linked a good page on how to care for abandoned kittens, you may find some more useful help there. The stuff I talked about above is from this page.

Good luck, I hope this helps =^.^=

My CAT has STOPPED NURSING her 3 week old KITTENS ???

hey, I'm in exactly the same boat as you. Mine are 2 weeks old though, and was hoping for some good advice. I'm just about to call my vet in just a mo and see what they suggest.

Help Me I Think My Kitten Is Dying!! It Wont Move!!

Okay my cat had kittens and wasnt feeding them. i bottle fed them for a day but then i fianally got her to feed them. one died any ways a few days later leaving 2 kittens which i assumed were doing good but i just noticed one was laying there not doing any thing, still breathing though, it was limp when i picked it up but still alive. the other kitten did the same thing before it kicked the bucket. i cant bring the kitten to any vet or pet store because i have no way to get there. I need to know why it is acting like that and if there is anything i can do! i dont want another kitten to die because of me.

PLEASE HELP!! I cant find the answer anywhere for my kitten.. and will gladly give someone best answer. ?

My cat was found at age 3 weeks old. It's eyes were barely open and it wouldn't go to the bathroom on it's own. A warm washcloth did the trick. :) We fed him cat formula through a bottle, both of which can be found on the pet aisle in walmart. I wouldn't suggest feeding it enfamil.

Next, leave some wet food, or moistened dry food, near it's water dish. It will start to eat it by about 4-5 weeks. I continued to bottle feed my cat for 8 more weeks, as he enjoyed it and so did I. My cat started eating solids at 4 weeks.

My cat also went to the bathroom immediately after eating. So make sure you help it to the litter box right after it eats. Or, use the washcloth trick, but it should start using the little box own it's own soon.

You should know that baby kittens are just like babies. They sleep A LOT. Mine would sleep for 2 hours, wake up, eat go to the bathroom and play all in about 15 mins, then fall asleep during play, for another 2 or more hours. This is normal, it's a growing baby!

Another reason not to feed enfamil or anything other than cat formula, is it could hurt it's digestive system. I'm not familiar with enfamil, but if you have absolutely no way to get to a walmart or pet food store (they may even sell cat formular and bottles at your local grocery store) I would call any local vet and tell them you have just found this baby and it needs to eat immediately and can enfamil work for now. They may say yes or no, and they may also have the baby kitten formula...

My kittens won't eat unless bottle fed, please help!?

So I rescued two stray kittens who were super thin and had eye infections. I started bottle feeding them and got ointment for their eyes. Now they are healthy playfull kittens and the eye infection is gone, except I can't get them to lap from a dish because they only want the bottle. One is Yoda and the others name is Boo. I would say they are between 3-4 weeks old. I've been bottle feeding them for 3 days. I don't mind bottle feeding them, just the kitten milk is $7 a can and usually only lasts me two days. Please help! Am I weaning them too soon? Boo kind of laps from the dish, but Yoda just can't seem to grasp the idea. And then once I bring the bottle out for Yoda, Boo ditches the bowl and wants the bottle as well. Also, I know that Yoda is a boy because when I was cleaning him I saw his penis. I'm still unsure about Boo, though (hence the gender neutral name). But when they start to get hungry, Boo tries nursing off Yoda's genitals...Every time I catch it, I pull Boo off. But is this normal? Yoda kind of lets him do it. I just don't want Boo getting sick from it.

My cat is ignoring her kittens. I put them in front of her but she picks them up and puts them back where they were and doesn't feed them. Can someone help?

You haven’t said how old the kittens are. If they are newborn then you need to check the space the mother has selected. If it is a quiet, warm, private and safe place then fix up a box with a towel or blanket for a nest for the kittens. Closets in a spare room work well. Leave a litter box, fresh water and food nearby for mom cat.Restrict access to the kittens from children and other pets. Restrain yourself from handling the kittens more than two or three times a day. New mother cats need peace and quiet in order to bond with their litter. Kittens are very fragile.Queening boxes are good places for a litter. They can be made of cardboard or a small dog crate or even some of the custom made units that can be reusedInvest in some kitten milk replacer (KMR) and a couple of small animal bottles. If you have a WalMart nearby, they have it or go to any pet supply store. Follow the directions carefully. Cleanliness of the nursing equipment is critical. Bottle feeding kittens will take some concentrated effort for about 3 weeks. They will need to be fed every 3–4 hours round the clock. If you are positive the kittens are not nursing then you must take them to the vet for exams and advice. Take mom cat too as she may be sick from a retained placenta. Do not wait too long, no more than 24 hours because kittens can die very quickly without feeding or warmth. If the kittens are 3–4 weeks old, then they are ready to begin the weaning process. Mom cat may not be nursing them as much if they have access to other food. Research how to wean kittens. If this litter is newborn, it is critical you take them to a vet right away. What do I do with an abandoned, stray kitten?

Now that you know about it and have given it some care, you can't just abandon it.Never mind that the shelters you called said they can't help you. Don't leave the kitten out there to die, which it will without warmth, food and care. Take it to a shelter. But keep in mind that unless it's a No-Kill Shelter, they will put it down. Kittens that young have to be hand-fed every couple of hours, which is a lot of time and work that most shelters can't afford to spare. They usually are forced to euthanize them unless they have volunteers to foster them. It's a sad fact. We got our cat Chance at three weeks because a friend who worked at a shelter called my husband to tell him they had several tiny kittens that would be put down unless we wanted one. My husband drove nearly two hours to the shelter just in time to save the last one. He brought him home for me because I was still grieving for an older cat we had just lost, and we had to wean him ourselves, feeding him and getting him on to solid food.If you can, I would say to adopt it. It's crying because it's lost, alone, scared and hungry. Who knows what happened to the mother that ended up with it all alone. Take it in, give it a warm bath, warm it up with a gentle towel massage, and keep it in a separate room from the dog until it gets used to the new smell. (The dog may even love it - you'd be surprised at how maternal some dogs can be with kittens). Get goat milk and wet cat food for kittens, mix it (2 parts milk for every 1 part wet food) and feed it every few hours. Every week lessen the milk and increase the wet food. If you decide to keep it, take it to a vet and have it de-wormed, checked for fleas and get its first round of shots. (Don't give it a flea bath at home - the chemicals are far too harsh. A simple warm bath, a pair of tweezers, a fine-tooth comb and some time in the bathroom can get rid of the worst of it. Drop the fleas in a container of soapy water. And do it in the bathroom - tile is much better than carpet for this, believe me.)Many cities and counties offer services that will cover a large part (or all) of the cost to get pets spayed or neutered, so check into that, too.But please don't just leave that kitten out there. Go get it right now. Please.
