I Dont Get Mail Undelivered/bounce Reports. I Need To Know If The Email Doesnt Go Through. Whats

Some emails are returned saying the are Undeliverable. Why is this happening to my email account?

In the past, my Yahoo email account was corrupted twice either by an unscrupulous former coworker or a hacker or both. Since then, I started a gmail account but kept my Yahoo email operational. However, now I want to return to using my old Yahoo email account full time but am experiencing problems receiving emails. Some emails are returned UNDELIVERABLE. Can you please reset my email account to receive all emails?

Thanks,
jackie.devereaux@yahoo.com

When I send email to @yahoo.com accounts, I get "mail system error - returned mail". What's going on?

Here is the message: This Message was undeliverable due to the following reason:

Your message was not delivered because the destination computer was
not reachable within the allowed queue period. The amount of time
a message is queued before it is returned depends on local configura-
tion parameters.

Most likely there is a network problem that prevented delivery, but
it is also possible that the computer is turned off, or does not
have a mail system running right now.

Your message was not delivered within 1 days.
Host yahoo.com is not responding.

I have sent emails to several @yahoo.com addresses, sometimes more than one to the same address, and always get this bounce. I am not sending from Yahoo mail, but I do have a Yahoo account and when I sent email to that account, it did go through without error. Could this have something to do with the "new Yahoo mail"? I haven't switched, but maybe they have? Anyone have any information on this?

How do I know if someone blocked my emails on Gmail?

With respect to previous answers, Google now supports blocking emails, but it doesn't work like the method to blocking via something like a messaging service.  When someone blocks your email, when you send the email it goes straight to their spam box.  Most GMail users will never know to even look for it unless they're actively searching for it.  After the email has sat in their spam box for 30-days, it's then deleted.  This ultimately means unless they went searching through the Spam box looking for the email, they'll have no clue you even emailed them.  And on your side, you'd have NO idea IF you're blocked or even if the user has even noticed your email.  The second way of blocking is by using GMails built-in filters.  In short, the user sets instructions as to what to do when emails are received meeting a certain set of user defined parameters.  Actions can be anything from auto mark as read, automatically delete, move to another folder, in short anything the user defines.  That being said, in this case, unless the user sets an auto-reply, again you will never know you've been blocked.  Block unwanted emails Gmail has a new 'block sender' option Google's Gmail finally adds the ability to block email, but there's a better way

What should I do about undeliverable emails from Craigslist?

Sounds like someone is spamming, or more likely with CL, scamming using your email name. It's quite possible it's the old "I really want your item, and I'll send you a money order, sight unseen" scam. When the MO arrives, it turns out to be for quite a bit more than the agreed-upon price (which is always more than the asking price, by the way), with a cockamamie excuse, the request to cash it, keep the amount agreed upon, plus a few hundred more for your trouble, and send the balance back to the buyer.

Five days later the MO turns out to have been forged, you're out not only the face amount of the MO, which has to be paid back to your bank, but any fees they charge.

And if you've already sent the item, you're out that, too.

The other possibility is that one of your "friends" or enemies is doing this to annoy you. Faking email addresses on sent email is relatively easy. Intercepting any responses to those emails is much more difficult.

Hope that sheds some light on it.

Please test my email account with Yahoo to see what's wrong?

Hi,

please help to test my email account with Yahoo Mail, to see what's wrong and why get I no mail.

Please send short test message to

dariusjack2006 at yahoo.ie

If you get it bounced back, please report this in your answer.
I will try to discover which messages get delivered
and will send you summary in this thread.

I live on dynamic assigned IP address by national telecom operator
(cell wireless modem by Play).
Service is new and excellent to me as I can move any place (big cities only) with my laptop and have wireless Internet access on at fair price.

I forgot free wifi, hotspots by telecoms. Wireless cell modem is really great.

The issue is, IPs assigned by my telecom operator may need some
technical operations with IP databases to reset their rating.
Unfortuntely, some mail operators world-wide, set some filtering
or delayed delivery, non-delivery algorithms, based on rating of one's
IP.
As I can't select my own IP, I can't select its rating.
Testing rating each time I get connected takes few minutes.
I can disconnect and connect back to get another IP assigned.

The issue is, full IP range assigned by Play telecom is rated
poor and I called my operator many times to do something to solved this problem.

Play staffers really have no idea what's wrong and customer service call made me to repeat 3 times what IP address really is.
And to get Chairman contacted is virtually impossible making a call.

So I still await reply from a national office in charge of telecommunication and it may take another few days.

So your tests could help me to discover the issue in full and provide my telecom operator with more details.

Already contacted Postmasters at Yahoo.com, Yahoo.ie
and got general form reply.

I don't want to quit a contract with my Play wireless cell modem Internet provider but must do something to keep my Yahoo Mail
safe and as reliable as possible.

I managed my Yahoo Mail for many many years and it worked always
fine and reliable.

What's wrong today is still my guess.

Thanks.

Darius

What are bounced emails?

Hello Prajwal,Simply bounce email are those emails which are not delivered to the recipients server for some reasons.these bounce emails are further categories into two classes:1: Hard Bounce2: Soft BounceHard Bounce: The reason for hard bounce could be:Recipient address is invalid.Recipient domain is invalid.Recipient mail server is blocked completely for receiving any email. Please go through the full extensive tutorial given below :Know about the junk email like bounce email and spam email..Hope! it would be a useful information for you.Have a great time! Sayonara!

When will Gmail stop bouncing my emails?

If Gmail is bouncing your mail, it means your emails are not being accepted for a specific reason. There are three primary bounce types preventing mail from being successfully accepted, including hard bounce, soft bounce, and block bounce.Hard Bounce: The recipient email address is invalid, malformed, or does not exist and is unable to accept your email. Hard bounces are usually classified by a 5xx series SMTP error code, indicating a permanent error.Soft Bounce: The email address is valid and can accept mail, but there is a temporary issue preventing the mail from being delivered at that time. Soft bounces can occur when mail is throttled or deferred, or rate limited by the receiving mail server. Soft bounces are usually classified as a 4xx series SMTP error code.Block Bounce: Occurs when the receiving mail server rejects the email due to filter issues, poor reputation, authentication failures, or the domain or IP address is found on a blacklist used by the receiving domain. Block bounces are considered a type of soft bounce, and vary in the SMTP error codes provided back to a sender.Unlike other webmail providers, Gmail places everything unworthy of the inbox in the spam folder, while other mailbox providers may bounce it. According to Gmail, “spam goes to the spam folder; everything else goes to the inbox.” Gmail will rarely bounce or block a sender’s email unless their DMARC policy indicates to reject mail (p=reject) or the message is viewed as malicious in intent.Mail accepted by Gmail’s mail servers and placed in spam is not considered bounced, as it was successfully delivered but placed in the spam folder. Gmail’s machine learning filters and decision engine is very sophisticated in determining what mail is accepted, wanted versus unwanted, and what gets placed in the inbox.Gmail provides guidelines for bulk senders to help senders optimize delivery into Gmail users, and offers helpful tools for remediation requests, postmaster tools, and FAQs. For GSuite users, Google offers a list of SMTP error codes to reference when email bounces.

What happens if I sent an email to a no one used email address?

When you send email to an unused domain, the DNS (name) lookup will fail and the local mail agent will send you an error message by email. When you send mail to an unused account at a working domain, the remote mail agent will send you an error message by email. It may keep a copy of the message, but typically will not.If a domain has a "catch all" email address account, the message will be quietly ingested without error and delivered to the "catch all" mailbox. You will never receive an error.I have a domain that is similar in spelling to another one and I periodically get mail for users on that domain. Because I am a nice guy, I forward them along. However, if I chose to ignore them, the sender would have no idea why their mail was not delivered since they would get no error message.

Block e-mail and bounce back to the sender?

Yahoo doesn't have this option, but Mailwasher does - and it's freeware:

Set up your email account(s) in MailWasher and hit the "Check Mail" button. It then downloads all new message headers and displays message details alongside each one (priority, subject, from, to, etc.).

Any email that MailWasher considers to be spam is highlighted for easy sorting.

Two checkboxes are located next to each message header: "Delete" and "Bounce". If you click "Delete" the email will be marked for deletion, click "Bounce" and the mail will be marked for bouncing - a fake "address not found" email will be sent to the sender.

Once you have decided what to bounce and delete, click "Process Mail" to get it done and your mail client launched for downloading all accepted emails.

MailWasher has a "blacklist" and a "friends list" to enter good and bad email addresses. Addresses in the blacklist are marked for deletion, and addresses in the friends list will be marked as okay.

Filters can be set to increase MailWasher's effectiveness. You can have email addressed to "undisclosed recipients" automatically deleted and bounced for example.

Note: the program is free but limited to one email account, and doesn't include Hotmail support.MW Pro supports multiple mail accounts.

If you block someone on Hotmail and they later send you an email, do they get a notification telling them they have been blocked?

If you block someone on Hotmail, it’s called blacklisting them, and no: they will never know they’ve been blacklisted.Mail YOU designate “blacklist” never will reach you at all. Unlike “whitelist” mail, which will bypass all spam, and land safely into your INBOX, blacklisted mail will not even hit your SPAM account.Designating any e-mail account “blacklisted” is telling your e-mail host: “You know what? This e-mail is WORSE than SPAM. Consider it Ebola. I don’t even want it in my SPAM account.”You won’t ever even get near it, and since these processes are automated, and webmail servers and those who run them are WAY too busy to send alerts for these? No one will take a nanosecond’s time to tell the e-mail account who’s been designated too awful and contagious:“Hey: this person hates you more than SPAM. Have a nice day.”They MAY wonder why you’re ignoring them, of course, if they aren’t a SPAM bot, and if they’re desperately in love with you, this MAY be a good time for you to buy stock in Ben & Jerry’s…But if you’re concerned about the awkward situation of receiving an e-mail from yet ANOTHER account, saying “Hey, (tearful emoticon here) why’d ya block me on Hotmail? Was it all the OTHER tearful e-mails? Be honest!” …. be assured they will only be GUESSING.You may feel completely free either to ignore the new, pathetic e-mail, as the Casanova or Mata Hari that you are, or lie, like the 007-license-to-lie I now guarantee you have, either:“This user no longer at this address,” or “I’m sure I don’t know what you mean; I don’t even know HOW to block anyone…”Then go ahead and block the new e-mail, and so on, and so on.Still, I reassure you: unlike Twitter, or Facebook, where once blocked or unFriended, it’s obvious to a user they’ve been shunned, Hotmail (and also Yahoo) does NOT alert any blacklisted user they’ve been blacklisted.FYI: My sources for this are:Web Developer’s NotesPC MechHotmail(So you know I really checked this out for you.):::Here also is a link, if you want to block this person from Gmail (and everywhere else).
