I Dont Have Many Clothes To Wear For University

What are the most necessary clothes I should have for university?

You need to consider your fashion and style. You need to be comfortable with what you are wearing. Jeans for now are necessity for students fashion especially the denim jeans. For best denim jeans you can look at this site http://www.fzillion.com/women/wo...

What is the dress code at the University of Hawaii at Manoa?

At UH, you can pretty much wear anything as long as you aren't showing off what isn't meant to be shown off. It's pretty much mall clothes. Wear what you would want to wear to the mall e.g. [shorts, tank top, halter, jeans, skirts, shirts]. I would suggest to bring a lot of shorts because here in the summer it can get pretty hot. I would also bring a fair amount of jeans, long sleeves, jackets, because it can get pretty chilly and rainy sometimes. For footwear, its pretty much anything. Slippers, or some people call them "flip-flops", sneakers, boots, heels, sandals, anything. It's casual though, so I wouldn't wear a lot of fancy clothes to school, save that for parties and going out! The average girl would wear a tank-top or shirt and shorts or jeans with slippers, casual.

Have fun at UH! [:
and hope this helps.

DEAKIN UNIVERSITY, Geelong - what is the dress code?

I'm going to Australia for the first time, and to a foreign university for the first time, so I was wondering if there is a certain dress code to follow.
Please help me to make smart choices (I haven't left my country as yet).

I'm a girl, and I'm hoping to go there for my Masters(Post Graduation) in Biotechnology.

Are you treated differently when you wear a Stanford (University) sweatshirt in public?

I'm going to answer this question, even though I don't wear Stanford gear; I wear Dartmouth gear.I always wear a Dartmouth shirt whenever I travel.Yes, you do get treated differently.People who went to Dartmouth notice you.One time, I was offered a ride solely based upon my Dartmouth t-shirt.It can be a huge asset, especially if you are in Boston, need to get back to either New Hampshire or somewhere close by, and can be recognized as needing to get there based upon your clothing. For people who didn't go to Dartmouth...I don't think they treat me any differently; or, if they do, it is because they are expecting me to behave a certain way because of the t-shirt. Either way, I always wear one when traveling. It is an instant conversation starter with any Dartmouth alum (and there are always Dartmouth alums around). I assume that something similar could happen while wearing Stanford gear.:)

I'm worried I don't have enough clothes for college?

You are perfect,
Dont forget the soap and facial wash!

Why do many high schools have dress codes if most universities do not?

You know I was thinking about this recently. In school they say they want to prepare students for the work force and this is one reason for the dress code (this is especially true for schools that have uniforms), yet most colleges don’t have dress codes and their stated purpose is to prepare students for college. One could say that once someone gets to college they are now adults and so can make decisions on how to dress for themselves, but then shouldn’t it be the parent’s responsibility to determine how their child should dress?

How many clothes do you need for college?

Enough for you to be able to rotate clothes. As others have already pointed out, have clothes that you can wear for presentations, for dinner dates, for when you have to do internships and for when the season changes.I cannot give you numbers since I don’t know how often you’d want to wear your items before you launder them, but generally, I would say go for a mix of t-shirts, long sleeved button down shirts, polo shirts, chinos, jeans, sweaters, and jackets. You don’t really need a lot.If you want to make your life simple, get a trademark look. You can do all black, black shirt, black jeans, black pants or white and black. I’ve even known of people, guys, who only had 3 pairs of jeans that they rotated for 2 years.Like I said in my other answer to a somewhat similar question, you’ll be busy studying and spending your money on books and other college-related expenses that you probably won’t even have time to focus or spend your money on clothing.

How much clothes should I pack for college?

I'm going away for college about 16 hours away so I need to bring everything I need with me the first time. I'm bringing four HUGE plastic bins. 2 have all my dorm stuff and the other two have all my clothes. I have another suitcase for my summer and winter shoes. Are two bins full of clothes too much to bring? They're packed really tightly too. Any advice for how to condense dorm stuff when you live so far away would be helpful. Thanks!!

How many clothes do I need for high school?

To tell you the truth, you could have 3 jeans, 2 leggings, 5 tank tops and/or shirts, 3 cardigans and 2 sweaters and you will be fine (even that is more then I have for High school). I had a friend that went through this entire year with 4 different jeans, 4 shirts and 2 sweater and no body noticed (because no one cares). So unless you want to be those people that try to look good everyday, you will be fine, as long as you don’t wear the same outfit two times in a row.The majority of people I know, beginning of the year, go on this resolve that they will look their best everyday of the school year. But the moment the second week starts they are back to wearing sweatpants, because all you want to do in the morning is sleep, and dressing up just to go to hell afterward is not worth it.Good luck in High school.Cheers!

How many clothes should I pack for college?

That looks like a lot to me.

If it were me, I'd be taking about 10 outfits that I would be likely to wear on ordinary days, including short-sleeved shirts and warmer things, like sweatshirts and sweaters, to add on top. That would be enough for me to do my laundry on the same day every week and still have clean clothes every days. I'd bring enough clothes for working out to get through a week (you'll be changing into your regular clothes to do laundry, in all likelihood, so you don't need more than 7).

Then I'd bring a couple of dressier outfits -- more if you are planning to live a lifestyle where those will be necessary on a regular basis -- and enough sleepwear, again, to get through a week (you can probably wear the same shorts or pajama pants a couple of times).

I'd bring one coat or jacket that can fit over a sweatshirt or sweater over a shirt and that will be warm enough for November and one dressier coat or jacket. On warmer days, you can wear that coat or jacket over just a shirt.

There is no way I'd bring 20 pairs of shoes. You should be able to pick out one or two pairs of dressier shoes that go with all of your dressy outfits, and then a few pairs of shoes for everyday use.

I recognize that you are probably more concerned with what you're wearing than I was, and you'll probably want a bit more than I did. But I think you can probably cut that list a lot and still be happy with what you have on hand.

If you are living in a dorm, you are not going to have very much space to keep your stuff in, and if you find you want and/or need something you didn't bring, it can be mailed to you. That will be a lot easier than trying to haul all of this stuff to school, finding a place to store it, and then hauling it all back.
