I Dont Know What Course To Take For 6thform Or College

College vs sixth form?

Well I live in UK so not sure where you live or if a different system.

6th Form is the same as college! Usually called 6th form as some schools can continue after Year 11/ 5th Year (GCSE Year)

In colleges you generally have more independence but it varies, both 6th form and college lasts for two years-complete A Levels and go onto Uni/gap year.

I preferred 6th form because went straight on from my school so knew the place, teachers, friends e.t.c. If you go to 6th form and don't like it you can swap to college.

What college classes should I take if I don't have a major?

Do you mean you are unsure of your major, and taking some classes before making a decision, or do you just want some general education? Either way, here's what you need to know:English. You'll need strong compositions skills for a variety of possible majors.Public Speaking/Communications. Again, many prospecting majors and careers require an unwavering ability of oral skills.Statistics. I hated this course, with all of the passion in my body, but I was unsure of my major when I first went into college, and several majors require statistics as a prerequisite.Finances. From what I've heard from friends and colleagues, this is one of the most useful and beneficials courses you can take.Whatever interests you. Are you into art? Music? Chemistry? Rocks and geology? You are the only one who knows what courses you would find the most enjoyment and benefit from.

College Mythology Courses?

Hey Guys i just wanted to ask i have recently finished High School and my passion in life is ancient history, i don't have amazing grades 4 grade c's and the rest grade D's i wondered if someone like me could ever study ancient history or anything like that, i currently live in the UK and would love to study at a college level to further peruse my passion! any colleges that fit this would be much appreciated

Is college better than sixth form?

you are young. you'll have the rest of your life to be independent.

after college, would you really like to move back in with your parents because you were unprepared for a job?

It is really up to your individual capabilities (note: not your wants).

You need to talk to someone that knows you well and that can be honest without but yet isn't bias.

What course should I take?

Without knowing you and a bit more about you I'd suggest photography if possible but art would also be a good choice. Cultural Studies would be good too, but would pluck art.

What is “A level”, “O level” and “Sixth form”?

In UK schools, Zehan, students normally take exams called GCSEs at the end of Year 11, when they are about 16. GCSEs replaced O levels (the O stood for Ordinary) about 30 years ago, so we don't talk about O level any more. When we had O levels, we also had different names for the classes in schools. When you started secondary school aged 11, you were normally in the first form, and you took your O levels when you were in the fifth form. After that, you went into the sixth form, lower sixth first and then the upper sixth. Now we have GCSEs, and at 11 you are in Year 7; you take your GCSEs in Year 11, when you are 16. After that, if you are at a school that goes on until you are 18, you normally go into Year 12, and then Year 13. But if your school stops at the end of Year 11, then you may go on to a sixth form college to do your A levels - they are still called this. The A in A level stands for Advanced, and is the qualification you need before you go to university. Most students in state schools take only 3 or 4 subjects at A level, but will probably have taken about 10 at GCSE. If you are coming to the UK in 2017, and going into Year 11, you probably won't have time to do this, and will be likely to do only a few important ones like Maths, English and sciences, as I said the other day. But then you will still do the normal number of A levels after that.

What happens if I don't get accepted by 6th form?

I thought most sixth forms accepted a C in English.
Anyway, if your other grades are good, then you'll probably have an interview with them so that the school knows you'll work hard, and then they'll let you in.
It's not often that sixth forms turn people down (unless grades are really bad) and especially if you haven't applied anywhere else. They want people to continue with their education!
