I Dont Want To Go Back Home In My Holidays Whilst At University

How often should I go home from university/college?

Everyone is different, I've just started Uni, been home after two weeks and will probably be going home every other week from now on. (I only live two hours away on the train, and my boyfriend is back home) Some people I've spoken to are going home every week, others aren't going back at all.

If you feel like you've settled at Uni, and are homesick, it is really nice to go back home - to sleep in your bed and see family, even if it's just for a couple of days.

It's completely up to you though, just do what you want. It's your life, so if you want to go home for the weekend, go, if not, then don't. :)

So many things I want to go to America and do but I'm not sure of the technicalities?

Defiantly do Camp America! You have to be 18 but this will give you time to build up the necessary skills to get in. You often work for around 3 months and after camp has finished you can choose to travel around America (with the help of the money you earned) before going home. Also when you go to university, in most courses you can choose to study abroad for the year, maybe you could go to America then?

I'm being blackmailed for money over videos of me... Should I go to police considering my past... Help!?

I am a former escort (I did this for a short period of time to get through university) I do not encourage this, it was a decision of my own, please don't make me feel worse than I already do!

I was booked to go on holiday with a friend. He had paid it. I met this man whilst Escorting.

I declined to go away with this person for a number of reasons (he was demanding too much of me & when I declined his demands he threatened to go to my family home &'tell my family of what I had been doing- I am still not sure how he knew my family home address as I had never told him anything).
He has now arrived back & is telling me he has videos of me at his property (I was not aware of these- they were secretly filmed) he is saying if I don't pay him back for the holiday he will publish the videos online to recoup costs &/or send this materials to my family home.

I called the non emergency police number & explained (man has videos of me & threatening to publish) to the operator, I was told that this was blackmail & action could be taken against him. However I declined at that time to supply the details as I wasn't sure if I will have to declare my past (how I met this man). Will this remain on my record? I hope to move abroad- could this impact on future visa applications?

I want this to stop but I am afraid I will be persecuted in the future if this shows up on my records.

Do I owe the man money for the holiday I didn't attend? I presume I don't.

Thank you in advance.

Can you stay on the college campus even for holiday breaks?

i hate my home, and when i go to college i will never go back...but lets say its winter break or spring break will i be forced to go beck home, or can i stay on campus.

Full-Time Student (18 units): Should I quit my part-time job? How can I do so without burning bridges?

Hello all,

Last year I started working for a restaurant, 25 - 30 hours during the school year. Huge mistake. I didn't realize how hard working and studying would be. Only a freshman, I was working nights and weekends, constantly staying up late and going to school the following morning. I struggled to balance working, family, and school. My body even developed a physical reaction (seborrheic dermatitis) due to stress. You get the picture.

I am starting my second year of college next week. I told my boss I needed her to cooperate with the fact that school is my priority, but she said she still needs me on all these shifts. My dad told me I need to give my two weeks notice if they won't work with my needs because the business is their problem, not mine. My mom said I shouldn't quit until I find a new job.

The reason I need some kind of income while in school is because I pay for my own tuition, books, car insurance, gas, and self-care expenses (dentist appointments, visit co-pays, etc.) So yes, I need at least a part-time job. But I can't be somewhere that doesn't respect the fact that I am a student.

I am really torn. I know I could find another job, but I just don't want to burn bridges. Campus jobs are great because they are usually no more than 15 hours a week and they allow a great balance, usually no nights and weekends. But if I quit, I will always need to find work during breaks. Help! What would you do?
