People are known to spend alot of $$$ on aLOT of Weird things... Some of Us just aren't as Intelligent as Others... -That's All. I happen NOT to be one of Those... :)

What would happen if you ate a half ounce of shrooms?

You would be almost totally disconnected from reality. It would be something like a 7 hour DMT trip, maybe a little less intense. Pretty much all of your senses would be crossed (not just visual, auditory, tactile, gustatory, and olfactory, but also balance, thermoception, mechanoreception, and pain perception). Here is the only trip report that I have ever seen that has had more than that, or even close to that. The guy took 40 grams of dried shrooms, which is about 1.5 ounces.

Is 1.75g of shrooms enough to trip?

For me 1.5 was an amazing experience, but not super trippy, I only weigh 55kg though so maybe a bit more for the average person. It's better to start low anyway, all the negatives associated with psilocin set in at higher doses. If they're standard mushrooms (Psilocybe Cubensis) then the above number apply. For more potent strains you'll only need a gram. For a faster come up, grind them up, place them in a shot glass, fill with lemon juice, and drink it. For fresh mushrooms you'll probably need more than ten grams. Big factors are set and setting, if you are somewhere where you are comfortable, and amongst people you trust, chances of anything going wrong are much lower. Definitely make sure you can trust the person you're getting them from, occasionally psilocybin containing mushrooms are misidentified.

How will .5 grams of magic mushrooms effect you?

Mushrooms come in a variety of different species and the amount that you need in order to achieve an effect depends not only on the species, but also on the freshness and manner in which they have been dried and stored.

I use a woodloving variety and would agree that half a gram won't really get you much of an effect. But it is important to remember that mushrooms are one of the Transcendent Compounds and is a very powerful mind altering substance. It needs to be treated with the respect that it deserves and not as a toy.

I think that a good idea would be for you to take your half a gram and see what impact it has upon you. This will prepare you for future experiences and give you an idea of what to expect from a small dose.

Camping + Marijuana + Mushrooms = Bad/Good Camping Trip?

I would do the shrooms mid afternoon, otherwise they will keep you up all night. Dont mix them with weed or booze your first time either.


Mushrooms are usually a pretty mellow trip compared to other hallucinogens. Most people claim they have the ability to "turn it on and off," depending on what the focus on. Along those same lines, your mood can affect the type of trip you have a lot. If you are feeling scared, anxious, or paranoid before taking them, the mushrooms will just escalate that feeling, and it will be... unpleasant.



As long as you are having good times with good people, you should be fine.

The two biggest side effects are nausea and respiratory depression. Nausea can be helped by eating something with the mushrooms like peanut butter. I also like drinking OJ after.

The respiratory depression won't kill you, but it can make you "forget" to breath causing you to snore or gasp. It is comparable to sleep apnea and subsides within 6 hours. I wouldn't try swimming while tripping, though.

Good point from Bear Crap. I looked at those articles, and all of those people either mixed mushrooms with alcohol, or in case of the teacher took nearly 20 times the normal dose. About 1/8 of an ounce (around 1-2 caps) is enough for a good 4 hour trip. For your first time, I suggest taking even less. until you know how it will effect you.


And again, if you are even the slightest bit apprehensive about taking them, then don't. That anxiety is what leads to a bad trip. A bad trip is where you think everyone is out to get you, and you are scared to death that you are lost in the woods even though you are 3 feet away from your tent. A good trip and you can lay down and finger paint with the stars a la Jodie Foster in Contact.

And again, don't mix with weed, especially not the first time. Weed can prolong the trip you get from the mushrooms, but it can also intensify a bad trip making it even worse.

Also, treat mushrooms as a special occasion drug. Something you do once a year with the right group of people. All things in moderation.

My Child only eats 1 ounce and then falls asleep and wakes again within an hour to eat only 1 ounce again?

Some say that formula can be hard for some babies to digest. We used Hergenberger Goat's Milk instead with great results. It comes in a powder from Whole Foods in our area. We would make the milk regular strength and then dilute it by half (50% warm water, 50% full strength goats milk)for new born and then 25%/75% at about a year and full strength at about 2 years.

I understand that when it is hard to digest, the baby's system wants to shut down and sleep (like adults after eating too much) and that could be why he won't stay awake long enough to eat more.

Also the Goat's Milk has no aluminum in it as some formulas do - like many processed, powerdery foods do to keep it from clumping.
