I Dropped A Bottle On My Vein On My Foot What Happens

I dropped something on top of my foot should i go to the doctor?

I dropped a big and heavy shampoo bottle right on the mushy bump diagonal to my ankle on the top of my foot last night. I didn't feel anything pop or nothing it just fell tingly and warm and like i had dropped a shampoo bottle on it. i made a joke like i think i just broke my foot. Before i could look at it it had swollen to about the size of a golf ball. It turned so blue i thought i popped a vein it was very hard and very pain full. I couldn't even put weight on it. I was going to go to the hospital right away because i just new something was wrong. My mother took a look at it and said just put ice on it. So i did. Again very pain full for about 2 hours took some advil and it didn't really hurt the rest of the night. The swelling went from a big golf ball to like a half of a baseball more spread out and the blue turned to like a light purple. This morning i got up and it felt fine. can walk on it doesn't really hurt.its still swollen and bruised. Does anyone know what i could have done and what i should do. i dint have insurance and im not made of money so i dint need any hospital or dr. bills unless i have to and def dint want to pay emergency cost. Please Help!

I dropped a heavy object on my foot- what now?

Blow off collage and get to a doctor. I did the same thing ( different object ) about 3 years ago and ignored it. I thought it was just bruised and it would get better on it's own. Now I'm on full disabilty, every step I take is in severe pain. My left leg is permently swollen from the knee down and there is a boil on my ancle that never heals and allways ozzeses fluid. The doctors can't figure out whats wrong with it and might have to take it below the knee. You can allways start collage another year but you need your feet forever, Take care of them because once the go........your done !!!

Did I hurt the vein on top of my foot when I dropped my laptop?

You are clumsy!!! lol. Sorry. Keep your foot up and put an ice pack on the swelling. This will help to minimise the swelling and bruising.

As there is only a little swelling you have almost certainly not damaged the vein but you will have bruising, due to damaged capillaries. Don't worry, nothing serious is going to happen to you. It may be uncomfortable for a few days, though.

I dropped something really hard on my foot and now my toe looks like this. Should I just leave it to heal or go to the doctor?

Am a nurse. I worked years in the urgent care. We have seen many of this.Depending on how hard the object (and how heavy it is), the bone in your toe may not have broken, or cracked. But what is happening is that you’ve hematoma, which is basically a bruise. Normally it’s not a big deal, but you’re bleeding under the toe nail-that is causing the pain.Eventually your toe nail may fall off (but it will sooner or later grow back). To relieve the “pressure” under the toe nail, a doctor will use a paperclip (I am not kidding about this), and quickly poke a hole in it. You’re asking how in the world? He’d light it with a lighter first (until it glows red from the heat). This is not something you should do yourself as it is like trying to give yourself a shot, or draw blood from one’s own arm.At the urgent care that I worked, we use this http://www.liveactionsafety.com/...They will certainly x-ray it to see if the bone of the toe is broken. But guess what? You won’t get a cast or put into one. They will “buddy tape” it. You can use a scotch tape and tape it to the next toe. This will stabilize it.Do not wear regular shoes until you’re healed. Normally you’d be wearing an “ortho” shoe (it’s ugly as hell) on that foot. But really, a good sandel will do. Regular shoe (dress shoe, tennis shoe) will be too tight (to put on and off).Keep the foot elevated and if this is ‘fresh’ injury, ice it. It will help with swelling. If it’s a few days, heat will help with the bruise. For pain - tylenol / advil will do.We had a patient who dropped a bowling ball on his big toe when he was home (no shoes on). His toe kinda exploded. He needed surgery to repair it.Best wishes.

My Blood Pressure Has Dropped To 107/43?

All your symptoms fit low BP. Faintness and actual fainting spells are further symptoms of low BP.

As your BP is well below 90/60 it is probably low BP and you may need to see a doctor. Your systolic BP at 107 is actually excellent but your diastolic BP at 43 could perhaps be regarded as dangerously low as it is well below 60. You will probably need some treatment or medication.

I accidentally dropped a cinder block on my foot about waist high.?

I am not giving medical advise but I guess I am because I asked my dad the same question and he is a doctor so this is what he said in a condensed version. If you can apply pressure to your foot and walk it is not broken. Check 1

Check 2 Most likely it is sprained. But th question is what type of sprain a inversion ankle sprain where the pain is located outside of the food. 90% of people my dad says have this. The other type is Eversion Sprain and they are pain from their innerlegiments. That means you would feel pain innerside of ankle.

Okay so It seems like this is a very serious type of sprain. Is their bleeding insdie the foot or do you see popped veins? Yes NO

If Yes go to hospital ASAP

No keep on reading.

Which sprain is yours most like:

Grade I Ankle Sprain:
Grade I ankle sprains cause stretching of the ligament. The symptoms tend to be limited to pain and swelling. Most patients can walk without crutches, but may not be able to jog or jump.

•Grade II Ankle Sprain:
A grade II ankle sprain is more severe partial tearing of the ligament. There is usually more significant swelling and bruising caused by bleeding under the skin. Patients usually have pain with walking, but can take a few steps.

•Grade III Ankle Sprain:
Grade III ankle sprains are complete tears of the ligaments. The ankle is usually quite painful, and walking can be difficult. Patients may complain of instability, or a giving-way sensation in the ankle joint.

So my dad says you should go to the hospital regardless of the sprain just to get an x-ray. However, if you have a grade 1 sprain my dad says take 400-800 Advil, Ice-pack, an foot brace.

Now if you can barely walk, go to the hospital my dad says. My dad says most likely it is fine. But assuming you have insurance they give you all of the stuff you need, if you get lucky maybe even some pain medication.

What happens if you accidentally get bleach on your skin?

Depends on how much and the concentration.Ordinary household bleach is sodium hypochlorite. The brand name product ‘Chlorox’ is nominally 6% sodium hypochlorite and is relatively benign unless you leave it on a large area of your skin for a while (what’s a ‘while?’ - minutes, in my opinion) or take a bath in the stuff (ugh - and expensive).Sodium hypochlorite breaks down in the presence of many organic compounds and releases free chlorine ions - these are what do the ‘dirty work’ and not something you want in/on your body in large quantities or for a long time.Newer formulations include a gelling agent and are thicker, making them stick to skin more easily.Healthy skin, despite its seeming thinness and tendency to damage from sharp objects is actually pretty tough. So, as suggested by Wei Shen, lots of water, some mild soap (no abrasives such as ‘Lava’) and a bit of lotion help but time and healthy, unbroken skin are best.Bleach in a cut/abrasion is not good - the deeper the cut or the larger the area of abraded skin will result in more choride ions absorbed into your system. Seek medical help if you spill bleach, especially the gel type, on an abrasion or deep cut.Personally, I hate the smell of the stuff and want to get it off my skin ASAP. Washing up and time do the job in most cases. As a last comment, DO NOT use full strength bleach in a spray bottle set to ‘mist’ - it will get into your lungs - not something you can wash. Many people dilute bleach and spray counters, kitchen cabinets, whatever, with the stuff. That’s a bad idea, in my opinion. You are better off with a rag/paper towel and some gloves. Use the stuff directly on surfaces and don’t rely on a spray to get it where it belongs.wb
