Do early 20s people act more young and immature these days (long, please read)?
who knows, kids defiantly act really pretentious nowadays though.
Why are people my age so immature?
Some people aren't as open to the outside world as you may be. Others may not know what it is like to be mature. I know people say it gets better with age, and I hope that's true. Many times in my life, I've wished that I could have a way of being in an adult's body, so that others would take me seriously. Unfortunately, I think fourteen year olds are immature because they have no way of knowing what mature is. I wish that helped more than I think it did. I'd also like to add that there are other fourteen year olds who think more maturely out there in the world, and if you look hard enough, you'll find them. I know you didn't want any fourteen year olds answering this question, but I'm thirteen, and I hope this helped to some degree. :)
Why do I feel so mature for my age? Is this a normal feeling?
I used to feel that way.My dad would often remark that I was an 80-year old in a 13 year olds body.I spent a lot of my time when everyone was asleep asking and reading questions in the Senior Citizens , Philosophy, and Psychology sections on YA.I became pretty popular, pretty fast on there.I've enjoyed conversations with older people since I was little. 90% of the people I've dated have also had huge age differences, simply because I found conversations flowed better, and felt more understood. And the 10%, were people that I thought were extremely mature for their age too.Now that I'm older, and in the process of growing up and getting older, I realised that there were actually a lot of areas in myself that lacked maturity - almost childlike. So I've actively been working on them, and continue to do so.I don't think total maturity is ever truly possible…I think it's more of a process than an end goal.What I'm trying to say, is that perhaps your problem isn't one of a difference in maturity (because believe me, there is immaturity in everyone, especially young people, and there is striking maturity in even immature people -it varies with the situation).I think what you're really suffering from, is a lack of people that have similar interests, or ethics and values. Or a lack of people that embody the characteristics and traits that you're looking for.Perhaps you need to branch out and try to connect with different people, or take the initiative to start conversations that matter to you about things that interest you and then actively listen to the ideas, opinions, and thoughts of others. There isn't a single person that won't impress you with their maturity in at least one area…with a little nudging. Most people don't reveal that side of themselves because they don't want to be 'weird', or 'judged' (especially when young).After all, older people learn valuable lessons in maturity from children all the time. ;)
Why am i so immature?
What you describe is a classic ADHD problem. Most people with ADHD are very immature for their age. It is quite normal to be 18 and have the mentality of a 7 year old in many ways., It is a part of your ADHD. It gets frustrating because other parts of you are not 7 and not satisfied with your being this way. It is also very normal to have older and younger friends but none your age if you have ADHD. You will develop and mature but it will take a lot longer than in most people your age.

Can I have imput from those who are in my situation and those who aren't either.I think that as long as you two are on the same level(I am on his level) that you can have a relationship. My parents say that its okay because they know that I am mature. Should age really matter? Why cant two people just care for each other without the legal confusion? If two people like each other and care for each other then why should it matter legally? I can see maybe like 16 and 30 but a few few years difference is no big deal to me. Age shouldn't matter so what do you all think? I will take all the answers I can get. I really need help with this. I just want opinions. I already have mines: Age doesn' t matter and Im going to do me. I have safe sex with him and my parents know but It doesn't hurt me emotionally.I'm still the same person. So what do you all think. Be honest with me.
