I Feel So Overwhelmed By Stress

Feeling stressed out and overwhelmed :/?

I'm a senior I'm highshool, but I'm taking all my classes at a community college. So, I'm getting credits for both highschool and for college at the same time. I'm taking 3 college classes and then 3 more are at home. I also play club basketball with practices 2 nights a week and tournaments every weekend. Anyway, I'm feeling kinda stressed out and overwhelmed. I'm not sure why though. I feel like I'm so busy and for some reason, I feel like I can't catch up, but it's not like I'm behind. My college biology class and psychology class are going well and I have A's in them so far. I'm having a harder time with my history class. I have a B. In order to get credits for both highschool and college, I need to get a C or better in all classes. I'm feeling a little pressured in needing to get a C or better. I have a paper coming up that I'll get started on, too, so I'm not behind.

What do I do? I hate this feeling. :/ I don't know why I'm feeling this way either. Like I said, I'm not behind. I just need to work hard with history. Any input? Or advice? I hate this random stress I get.

Thank you.

Do you ever feel so stressed out and overwhelmed that you just want to die or go into a coma like state to get away from everything for a short period like a day or a week just to feel the pleasant feeling of nothing?

Fitst, I want to say I’m sorry you are feeling this poorly. I do know what you are talking about. I have stated that same thing before. I told my therapist that I was not suicidal, and that I most certainly did not want to kill myself, but I wanted to die. I wanted to sleep and not wake up, or like you said, a coma. I didn’t necessarily want it to be permanent, I just wanted what I was currently feeling to stop. So however long that death or sleep or coma had to be for that to happen, even if it could only be forever, then that’s what I wanted. I can’t tell you how to fix this. One thing I did do was check into a full-time outpatient treatment program for 3 months. For 90 work days, 5 days a week, 6 or 7 hours a day, I was in therapy. And my biggest take away there was to just live one day at a time. To not even think about all the other days and what I had to do and when, but what I needed to do that day. Three years later, I still do this when I start feeling stressed or overwhelmed, or when I know circumstances could lead to me feeling that way.May I suggest you talk to a professional? Most insurance will cover this and your regular doctor can probably refer you to someone. Please, don’t talk this through with your friends on social media. They don’t know how to help and could say the wrong things that won’t help and may even unintentionally hurt you more. If you’re a teen, talk to a trusted adult about what you’re feeling so they can get you help.I do hope and pray things will get better for you soon.Jinnie

I'm so overwhelmed by stress, what can I do?

Chill :) By chill, I don't mean getting rid of all the stressful activities and turning sedentary.I find that in situations like this, making a list always helps. Really, write down all the things you have to do, or feel you have to do. Now scrutinise that list; some things, like GPA and studying, and student council are in your control. Some things, like the fact that your peers seem prepared, might be contributing to the stress but are effectively things are not in your control. Just let it go, and focus on yourself, and what YOU can do. The greatest lesson I've learnt that stressing about things which are out of your control, is completely useless. Instead, channeling all that wasted energy into the things you can control is much more rewarding. While this advice might sound cliché, I find that I always need to remind myself of it every once in a while.Extending from that, a practical approach alleviating stress is to plan your day. Plan your time in 2-3hour blocks, and write it down. Don't make your plan too ambitious (because then you'll just get tired and give up on it), but make it challenging enough so you feel that you are accomplishing something every day. You already seem to have so much going, and remember that it's not really a list of activities the colleges are looking for. Rather it's initiative, and what you've learnt from your activities, and how well you reflect on them. So if you do feel like you have to get rid of some activities, maybe it is for the better. Then you can really focus on a few very important ones, and get really good at them. And at the end of the day, no matter how trite it sounds, very few things are make-or-break scenarios. Think of the worst case scenario (not getting such a good GPA, etc.), and realise that while it may not be ideal, it's not the end of the world. You'll be fine, and happy, no matter what happens. I hope that helped!

I'm young, but why do I feel so overwhelmed?

You're just stressed. I've found some herbal remedies and vitamins can help (just google natural stress relief herbs etc)

College isn't a waste of time but you need to pick a major that you actually like that will make you money. Here's a tip, any major that is easy, pays crap. Education/psychology/art/political science/ sociology/ communications/ journalism / marketing are BAD things to major in. All my friends that received degrees in those majors had to go back to school and choose something completely different.

Science/Engineering and math majors are the only 4 year degrees that pay well. (unless you go into nursing).

PS: don't neglect your health in college. Once you settle down with a degree and a job and you look around for a husband, looks are important. If you want an educated, professional husband, you can't be overweight.

Business degrees are good but here's some more http://www.becomecareer.com/highest-payi...
Anything with liberal arts degrees start paying well after a PHD or masters though.

How do I stop feeling overwhelmed and stressed easily?

In the most case, stress comes out from the demands placed on you such as relationships, school, works, that exceed your capacity to satisfy them.Sometimes, a little bit of stress can be beneficial, producing a small boost to get your tasks done, especially for the ones that are related to your goals. However serious stress can lead to some severe health consequences as: anxiety, depression, high blood pressure altering the cardiovascular, immune and nervous system.Hopefully there are many healthy and positive ways to manage stress and reduce it. It depends of each person. Some choose to handle their stress by pursing active activities such: drawing, playing music, dancing, while other find their relief on passive activities like walking, meditation, yoga. So, here are 5 simple tips to manage stress:1.Take a break from the stressorAt the first time, it may seem too hard to get away from stressors like a growing bill, a big project that you must achieve, or a lot of demands from your circle. But, when you step back, and you give yourself a permission to take a break, you let yourself to do something else that will help you to have a new outlook, so, you feel less overwhelmed, and chances are high to take some good decisions.2.ExerciseExercise benefits not only our body but also our mind.Sticking to a routine of 30 minutes’ exercise session on the midst of a stressful time can give you a huge relief that will help you to clarify your mind, and boost your energy.3.SmileLaughing and smiling are a powerful cure to release stress. When people are stressed, they hold a lot of stress into their faces. So, when your smile even without any raison, you relieve those tensions, and you fell more energetic and happy.4.MeditateMediation can be also a great way to relax your mind and retrieve all stress pressure.Mindfulness reinforces positive emotions such: forgiveness, compassion, cheerfulness love… In turn those emotions make you more solid to face any external pressure.5.Get social supportWhen you share your concerns with a friend, or family member, it helps to reduce and retrieve stress. But, make sure that you choose carefully the person whom you want talk with. It’s essential. To get a supportive feedback, the person whom you want to talk must be someone you trust, and you feel he can understand you.In the opposite side, if the person doesn’t match the qualities mentioned above, sharing your concerns and your thoughts, will not going to retrieve stress.

Very Overwhelmed and Stressed Out Over Job! Please Help!!?

I have just started my first job as a cashier at a fast food restaurant. I am already feeling overwhelmed after my first day. It seems like so much to do and in just a few hours of training I felt like they just expected me to know it all immediately. I'm having difficulty operating the register quickly enough and understanding what people are ordering through the drive though. On top of that I have not been trained very well on how to make drinks so I stumble a bit over that as well. And between all doing all of these things while trying to juggle both the front register and the drive through (and cleaning the dining room and the dishes and handling money) I feel very overwhelmed. I get really bad anxiety attacks (thankfully I keep myself together until I'm in private) so I'm crying and very nervous for my day tomorrow. I don't want to quit because I really need this job (for at least like, two months) so I can get recommendations for a college I want to attend in the fall. I could really use some advice.

Is it normal to be a bit slow and hit the wrong keys so much on the register, even after a day (4 hours) of training? And is it alright that I haven't really gotten a hold of preparing drinks yet and juggling the window? I'm just really stressed out and overwhelmed and I could really use some advice, especially from people who have been in this situation or something similar.

I am feeling overwhelmed with WORK!!!!?

First off that thought process will kill you. Calm down and start telling yourself wow this is a lot but I am going to do it. I can do it. Then look at what you have to do decide whether or not you can cut back on something or completely removes something from your list entirely. Now take the list and rearrange it so the most important thing is the first thing you have to do. Find time through out the day to sit down and relax for a second, maybe some deep breathing, even enjoying a snack you haven't had in a long time so you don't feel so deprived. Now take your list and tackle all of the items on it one at a time making sure that in between you are getting enough rest and eating more healthy since it reduces stress ( blueberries, whole grains, fish) they are better for you so you may also not feel so much pressure to work out ( but I wouldn't take it off completely bcus it will help you release endorphines and make you feel better). Once you get through it veg out like no other because you deserve it ( it might be nice to have the light at the end of the tunnel.
