I Fell 4 Weeks Ago Had A Bruise On My Upper Arm. Noticed 2 Weeks Ago The Bruise Had Turned Into A

My child came home and had bruises on her upper arms..........?

I'm wicked sorry this is happening to you. The school could have called you first about the bruises to see if you knew about it.Children can sometimes bruise easily, esp when they are playing. kids can be clutsy too, they bump into things and fall a lot. Does your child have siblings? they could have been fighting (like most bros and sis do).I wouldn't worry too much, if you didn't do anything to cause the bruises, when child protective services does the investigation i'm sure they won't find a problem. They will talk to your child, everything will be o.k!!!It's gotta be embarrassing and frustrating to be dealing with this esp. the way the school is reacting!!! Good luck. Some people just bruise very easily, like me ,and I never remember how they got there. Good luck

Why would a bruise appear 2 days later?

Actually that is quite normal. You see, the deeper the injury the longer it can take for a bruise to rise to the surface.

A bruise, also called a contusion, is an injury to biological tissue[1] in which the capillaries are damaged, allowing blood to seep into the surrounding tissue. It should not be confused with ecchymosis, though the terms are related.

A bruise is usually caused by blunt impact. Bruises often induce pain but are not normally dangerous. Sometimes bruises can be serious, leading to other more life threatening forms of hematoma, or can be associated with serious injuries, including fractures and internal bleeding. The likelihood of bruising, and severity of it, increases as one ages, because elderly human skin becomes thinner and less elastic. Minor bruises may be easily recognized, in people with light skin color, by their characteristic blue or purple appearance (idiomatically described as "black and blue") in the days following the injury.

My daughter has unexplained bruises on her arm?

Okay so a month back she was leaving the house for school when i noticed a bruise on her arm, when i asked where she got it she said she just hit it on a wall as she walked past. (She is 15). When that one was fading she started getting one on her cheek, i didnt ask her about this one, she came to me and said she fell over in the bathroom and hit her head on the sink but to me that is almost impossible to do with the positioning of our bathroom. about three days after that another turned up on her other arm and when i asked she said she had just fallen over. Today i noticed another and i didnt dare ask her because i think i'm making her upset. Do you think she is telling the truth or is something else happening?

Why is my bruise turning from blue to red? Should I be worried?

It shouldn't turn red. That means it could've been rebruised, causing blood to rush to the area. This is blood leaking again to the area. You should see a doctor.Usually from blue, it would turn greenish. This is the first stage and first indication that the bruise is starting to heal. The red blood cells as they are broken down release hemoglobin. This is broken down and converted into biliverdin which changes the bruise colour to be greenish around the edges. It would then shift to yellowish. The stage of the bruise is caused by the presence of bilirubin under the skin. It is the final colour of the bruise before it disappears. The last color The bruise will eventually fade away. The blood product will be processed and dispersed as you move your muscles and the lymphatic system drains away the blood. It will be a mixture of pink and brown and yellow.http://itpandme.com/the-life-cyc...

Help! my newborn is sucking on her forearms/ leaving little bruises - need advice from exp. bfing mommy's?

my 1 month old has done this once before (about a week ago)...she has a really fussy bad night, she goes from crying uncontrollably to wanting to nurse ALL night long, last time after about 3 or 4 hours of non stop nursing, i would let her cry a little - while trying to get her to take a binky and noticed she would suck on her arm (after spitting out the binky)...

now (tonight) she is doing it again and she actually left 2 little tiny bruises and 1 noticable bruise on her arm...

:(

she is not hungry, she has been eating pretty straight through since about 8:30 tonight...i produce plenty of milk, she is gaining weight just fine. she won't take a bink...she gets so upset she gets all congested and sounds like she is having a hard time breathing...but its just from crying.

i don't mind feeding on demand when she needs or wants it, but i pay for it the next day, cuz she is demanding more milk tonight than she will need tomorrow and i will have to feed her 3 times before my breasts stop being engorged.

its a mess...is this normal? i never went through this with my son.

Can I still go swimming with bruised toenail?

Hi all,

I just bruised my toenail recently. It started out turning all black n blue and today after a cardio step class i came home n noticed bleeding around the perimeter of the toenail.

It has stopped bleeding and I'm wondering wat should I do abt it? Should I put iodine on it? it is necessary to visit the doctor? Anything i should do in the meantime or look out for?

Wondering also if i could still go swimming these few days? How long should I wait til I can get back into cardio class? :(

Thank muchly in advance!

Swollen bruised ankle from walking?

That kind of thing can happen when you walk. Are you sure that you don't turn your foot inwards while you walk? Did you end up rolling it at some point and not realize it. What i would suggest over the counter orthotics for your shoes that provide good arch support. That might help. Also, after walking you should ice it and elevate it and take some ibuprofen if you can. This will help with the pain and swelling. As for the bruising, that will be something that you will have to deal with. If these don't work or it becomes a problem (more painful, swelling never goes down) or new symptoms develop (knee pain, hip pain, ankle pain, joint pain and swelling in all your joints), I would go to the doctor. He or she may refer you to a rheumatologist or to an orthopedic surgeon, he or she may simply give you exercises to do at home. It depends on your insurance coverage and your symptoms. I would try everything I mentioneed here before going to the doc, as they will tell you to try these things anyway. Doing these things and having them fail will show that there is a problem that needs to be solved. Hope this helps!

Can a bad bruise leave a scar?

Last December I slipped and fell down a flight of stairs, and got a really deep, large bruise on my left butt cheek (sorry, I can't think of any other way to describe it!). The bruise took over a month to fade away. A couple weeks ago I noticed a hard lump where the bruise was, and I was wondering if it could be scar tissue, or something more serious. I'm worried about it, but at the same time I'm not too thrilled about going to the doctor and saying "hey, could you check out this lump on my butt?!"
Has something similar happened to anyone else?
