I Fell A Few Months Ago And Never Went To The Doctor To Get It Checked Out. Now It

Should I get my ankle checked out?

A few months ago, I had a nasty fall in gym class and I twisted my ankle. Initially, when I got up from the floor, it felt fine, and I went back to playing with my friends, but by the time I got off of the bus, I was limping back home. That night I had a chorus performance and had to wear heels. They helped a little with the pain, but by the end of the night, my foot was so swollen, I had to be carried to the car. I spent the next three days at home soaking my foot in ice water. The problem here is that I never did go to the doctor to see if there was any muscle damage. The initial pain was almost equivalent to the time where I broke my arm. I could have sworn it was fractured somehow. When I went back to school, I wore a brace my dad bought me from the drug store. Now, I'm better and getting around, but now I notice that my ankle bends awkwardly when I walk. And my mom says that I drag my ankle when I walk. I never really felt comfortable about not going to see a doctor about it.
Do you think I still should just to be safe?

A dish fell on my toenail about one-two months ago and my toe nail is purple and green, could it be gangrene?

go see a doc

A few months ago I fell and punched myself in the rib while playing soccer. It took months to recover had issues breathing but I never got it checked out. Now I have no pain but I feel like my rib slips out of place then pops back in. Is this normal?

When you say, “punched myself in the rib” I assume you fell on it? You need to see a doctor as soon as you can. If you detached a rib, and that is what it sounds like, it could puncture any of your organs with life-threatening results. Why on earth would you not get this checked out? Particularly since your breathing was affected.

Why does my eye socket still hurt (and itch) four months after I fell on it when nothing was broken?

“Why does my eye socket still hurt (and itch) four months after I fell on it when nothing was broken?”I agree with the other answers. You really need to see a doctor. You did not write if you saw a physician after you fell.Without an x-ray/exam it is not possible to be certain nothing was broken. It is possible to have fractures even though nothing appears to be broken by just looking at it.And even if nothing was broken you could have soft tissue injuries/problems. This could basically be anything that is not bone.It (injuries/problems) could be even due to swelling that happened after/from the fall and became noticeable later on.Even if you went to see a doctor right away, some problems can take a while to develop and do not present (can be seen/diagnosed) right away.So basically, whether you have seen a doctor and still have problems or you never saw one in the first place, you should really go see one. Vision is not something to be messed with.I am not sure where you are located. If it is in the US and there is a difficulty accessing medical care due to cost (which unfortunately would not be unusual ) there are some sliding scale/sometimes free clinics.Their services and ability to treat different things differ since they mostly have to rely on donations and volunteers but you could at least get examined by a medical provider. Here are a couple sites for finding free and or low cost/sliding scale clinics.Free Medical Clinics, Free Dental Clinics, Free Medical Help All over USAFree Clinics and Community Health CentersThere is also the nation wide U.S. phone number 211. It’s completely free. You can call, give them you zip code/location and tell them what you are looking for/need. They will try to find it, and give you the information. They do all kinds, including clinics, social services….They also have a website: Call 2-1-1best of luck

I slipped and fell down and now my lower back hurts. What do I do now?

It depends on where exactly you are feeling the pain as to how to treat it.Firstly you should go to a professional physiotherapist or doctor to get a scan to properly diagnose what it is.I am not a physiotherapist and can’t give advice but can tell you how I have fixed my own lower back issues through physiotherapy and a lot self treatment. Also, is the pain radiating down one of your legs? Or up into your lower back area?If it is down one of the legs, it is possible you have some compression in one of the the lower lumbar discs. To help alleviate this, you can decompress it by putting your lower back in traction - easiest way I could do this was to let my legs hang while in a dip station (see pic):It’s the best pic I could find. You don’t need to raise the legs or work your abs, just breathe, relax and let them hang for 20–30 seconds at a time. This will take a lot of pressure off the spine. You can also lay on the ground and have a friend lift and pull your legs or think of your own variation. If the pain is radiating upwards, it is likely an issue with your gluteus minimus or gluteus medius. To help this, you need to stretch and massage it to release it. See pics:If you google or type ‘glute stretch and massage’ into youtube you will find a wealth of info on how to do it and will explain better than I could :)That is just a start. You still should go to have it professionally diagnosed but these exercises will help alleviate the pain.I hope this helps.

Should I go have my breast check I fell on my left brest and it hurts ?

It never hurts anything to just have anything checked out. But most likely its just sore. You have an organ in there, the one that produces milk and it can get damaged if hit hard enough or fallen on. Im no doctor but i would say if its not crippling you and it just hurts or is tender. Take a pain killer for now and if it dont get a little better by morning. Go get checked. But keep in mind its probably going to take a few days to heal.

How common is it for doctors to be physically attracted to their patients?

I suppose the answer to your question would depend on the doctor whom you’re asking. For me, I can count on one hand the number of patients I’ve been physically attracted to. That’s not a lot given that I’ve seen thousands of patients in my career. That’s not to say I haven’t had my share of attractive patients. I have had patients whom I might be attracted to if it weren’t in a healthcare setting (like if I saw them on the street for the first time). But when I’m at work, I subconsciously turn that off. I’m virtually never attracted to my patients.I have heard of doctors who do become attracted to patients. One of the answers on here says that doctors dating former patients is “Absolutely not ok.” I would object to that. Many of us work in smaller towns where we know a lot of the patients in our community outside of work (e.g., you go to church together, they’re the bartender at the nearby restaurant, etc.). It’s inevitable that we’re going to associate with our patients outside of work. Are we to forego any kind of friendly relationship with a patient? No. And if in the circumstance there is a mutual romantic attraction to a patient, the best thing to do is to transfer care so that you are no longer that patient’s doctor. It’s pretty simple. You just have to go about it ethically and professionally. It’s not unethical to date a former patient. It’s just unethical to date a patient while you are their doctor. I’ve never been in this situation, but I can understand and sympathize with someone who is.Hope that answers your question,Paul

When I was a child, I fell down on gravel--pebbles under my skin?

I am no expert, but if you do leave them in they might get infected again, or they may cause a blockage or increase pressure in your blood stream, raising your blood pressure, but if they have been in there for a few years and haven't caused any damage, and you don't want to get them out, I don't think they will cause much damage. Again, I am no expert.

I got elbowed into the chest?

During a night out a guy was pushed into me elbow first into my chest.

I think both of the guys involved fell onto me as I was knocked to the ground.

It was quite sore at the time and the next day. Painful when going to lie down, or getting up.

This happened last friday night. Its now Monday and can still feel it.

Do I need to get it checked out or how long should I wait to do so?
