Do Goldfish get bruises? How? Why? What do I do?
I have a goldfish and he is getting black coloring near his face and it looks like a bruise. I don t know what to do about it. I have never owned a goldfish before. I got him in a white elephant gift exchange... I m trying to give him a good life and care for him to my best ability, but I just noticed his discoloration and do not know what it is from or what I can do about it? He seems to be acting his normal self... But he was weird when I got him. and is still being a weirdo.

It is called sero (from serum) sanguinous fluid. It is what your body sends to an injured area to form a scab. It has things like white blood cells to fight infection and thrombin and fibrin to form clots and a scab. It is very normal.
Does a bruise heal faster when left open or when under bandaging?
Hey thanks! All advices were helpful and I did go for dressing after leaving it open for less than an hour or so. Thanks writersblock for the very helpful advice. I did buy the bandaging stuff and yea, it is economically better and also more comfortable. Thanks! And thanks to Sumax too for the new advice. I fell off of a horse on a week ago, and I hurt my back...bad...Help?
It has been almost a week since I had a bad fall off of a horse. The third day, I noticed I had developed severe back pain in my lower back, just to the left of the vertebrae. It definitely hurts to push there. I went to urgent care, and that doc says it is a muscle or ligament sprain or strain and should take 10 days to heal. It is killing me, and I am only comfortable laying or standing. I had to miss work today because of this! What can I do? He gave me Lortabs...that is all...and told me to take Advil too & use a heating pad. If I turn a certain way or lean or try to get up, it feels like someone is stabbing me! I can't sit up for long periods of time without laying back down or standing. There are no fractures in the vertebral column, and it is aligned nice and straight. Do you think I'll be okay? Should I wait it out or go see a spine specialist at the orthopedist? Should I get an MRI....or wait? What else can I do for some pain relief? Should I go back to work tomorrow? I asked this in health too, but I am hoping that someone else under the horse section can relate. Also, my family is telling me that I need to stop riding now, etc. before I injure myself for good (which I may have already done...). :( I have been riding for 18 years! What I really need is to buy my own horse and stop riding young, spooky, or crazy horses.... :( Thank you for your assistance!

My right testicle feels swollen & really have a sharp pain. But what is wrong? had it a few times in 2 years. Not blue or anything just a bit red and swollen kind of hurt. But pain gradually subsides. I have been to the Accident and Emergency before but they said there was noting majorly wrong just said it was a slight trauma that sorted its self out.
