I Get Weird Mood Swings

Weird mood swings. Normal for a teen or no?

My mood swings are aggravating. My moods are as follows:

1. Cleaning mood- I clean everything in sight. I can't sit still. I get irritated easily and cry often. I feel like just hitting people if they get in my way. My thoughts race. I jump from one task to another and never finish anything. This mood has never lasted more than 2 and a half hours.

2. Obsessed mood- All I want to do is learn new things. I become almost obsessed with a new subject I become interested in. My thirst for knowledge in the area I'm newly obsessed with never seems to be quenched. This usually never lasts more than 6 days (and that's a stretch).
I also become obsessed with what I eat/ exercise often. This mood lasts no longer than 2 weeks. I'm also always irritated in this mood.

I have an in between time also. I'm usually always tired or depressed during it. All I do is lay in bed and eat because I feel like I failed in whatever mood I was in last.
I've told my mom about how these moods are ruining my life. She said it sounded like hormones. So now I'm on a birth control pill. It hasn't been 2 months yet, and my moods are as bad as ever. My mom said I have to wait at least 3 months before I'll see the full effect.

Is something wrong or is this really my hormones?

Weird dreams and mood swings?

I've been out of it for almost a whole week now. When I'm dreaming, it seems like reality. And reality seems like a dream. My emotions are out of wack all day and I usually just want the day to end but at the same day don't because I'm afraid of having bad dreams like I have for a whole week. Maybe PMS? But like I said, it's been going on for a whole week. I've also been breaking out a lot, so maybe my hormones are just doing something crazy? What do you think?

I have these weird mood swings where I’m happy and energetic and then I get really sad almost depressed and feel exhausted. Can that be explained? (No one in my fam is bipolar so I don’t think that’s it)

Maybe because your self image or self esteem depends on external things? When this is true, you easily get mood swings. Let’s say you feel good, you worked out and did your homework. You’re practically done for the day and thus you feel satisfied. Now your dad tells you that you’re a lazy f*ck who needs to get a job. This will bring you down, especially when you believe that you are a lazy f*ck. The next day you still think about it and feel in a low, unmotivated mood. You don’t work out, did not find a job and did not do your homework. This acts as a validation for how your dad labeled you (lazy f*ck). Now to break this cycle, you search validation for not being a lazy fuck. Perhabs by friends, or doing things again. Just until the next (self) criticizing hits you. What i am trying to say is, when you believe what others tell you (or sometimes what you tell yourself based on external things or people), you’ll get mood swings. Most people talk negative about others because that is the easiest to spot. Start finding this validation in yourself, don’t become arrogant but believe in yourself.

My girlfriend is having weird mood swings....?

I love my girlfriend...to pieces. She is 17 and I am 19....we have so much fun together and things have been perfect...until she got grounded for something involving summer school work.

She recently got her phone back and we have been talking again, but the past few days she has been normal and happy one moment and then one word texts and upset the next.

I keep asking her whats wrong but she tells me nothing all the time...I dont knwo what causes this but its really hurting my feelings that shes being mean to me it seems but sounds fine when we are on the phone and laughing at texts from her friends.

Whats wrong :(

My girlfriend gets mood swings.?

It's the same thing every day. My girlfriend of 10 months drives me crazy. ONe minute she's over me talking about how she wants to get married and what she'll name our kids, then the next minute she's yelling at me for the smallest thing, sometimes even nothing, or something i have nothing to do with. Then a minute later she's balling her eyes out over what? something so small. And i know it's not every girl. My ex-girlfriend was down to earth and didnt freak out over every little thing and knew how to deal with things. I dont know what do do, i've tried to talk to plenty of times but she puts it all on me and talks about how it's my fault. I love her but she's driving me crazy. My grades are slipping in school. I get bottled up anger. Help me please.

I'm 14, but I don't get any mood swings or cramps while I'm menstruating, am I normal?

You’re extremely lucky. Buuutt there’s also a chance that later in life, you might end up getting cramps and such. I pray you don’t because nOBODY deserves that horrible pain

Why do I have weird mood changes?

Hehehehheh...Ahhh, sweetness...!You are "becoming you"; that is all. It can be a scary, weird, roller-coaster kind of ride, but, sorry to say...it's called "nature". Take it from someone who has been there and remembers it, just do well, be kind. You cannot "fix" it, because it's not "broken". You will emerge from this "stage" with two choices: Forget all about it and become like your parents, principals, teachers, etc., or remember with all your soul how strange and difficult and weird...and wonderful!...it all was. They are not mutually exclusive. There is a "syncretism" that is possible, but oh so rare once those naked little "monkeys" pop out and your world is changed! If you are female, the hormonal changes may be more "evident"; if you are male, they may be more "secretive", but no less major and frightening. If I could give any advice to every 12-13+++ year old in the world it would be these two things: Remind yourself always of this first thing: Anything you share over your phone, Skype, or any other area of the internet, as much as you may want it to be private, WILL BE BROADCAST ALL OVER THE WORLD WITHIN 30 SECONDS.2. You have free will. Go ahead, make your choices. Do what you "want". Fulfill your every desire. Only remember this: Just because you have the freedom to choose, it does not follow that you can choose the consequences of your choices.P.S. There is a God who really, really loves you. He's not Santa Claus, he's not a magician. He wants you to grow up, and grow up well. ;>)

Why do I have mood swings everyday?

It is possible that you could be experiencing what is known as “rapid cycling” bipolar disorder, but you need to see a psychiatrist to find out for sure.Rapid-cycling is a term that describes having four or more mood episodes within a 12-month period. Episodes must last for some minimum number of days in order to be considered distinct episodes. Some people also experience changes in polarity from high to low or vice-versa within a single week, or even within a single day, meaning that the full symptom profile that defines distinct, separate episodes may not be present (for example, the person may not have a decreased need for sleep). Sometimes called "ultra-rapid" cycling, there is debate within psychiatry as to whether this phenomenon is a valid or well-established feature in bipolar disorder. A pattern of rapid cycling can occur at any time in the course of illness, although some researchers believe that it may be more common at later points in the lifetime duration of illness. Women appear more likely than men to have rapid cycling. A rapid-cycling pattern increases risk for severe depression and suicide attempts. Antidepressants may sometimes be associated with triggering or prolonging periods of rapid cycling. However, that theory is controversial and is still being studied. Why do you always have mood swings when you have your menstrual period?

NOT EVERYTIME, NOT EVERY WOMAN SUFFERES FROM MOOD SWING DURING THE TIME OF MENSTRUAL PERIOD…but yes, majority of women suffer from this.REASON:-During menstrual period or before periods there is imbalance of hormones in the body. due to this mood swings, headache, cramps, bloating, cravings, sore breasts and overall tension occurs which create bad impact on our body. This pic shows that what will happen during mood swing ,cramps, headache etc…Why Imbalance of hormones takes place because,REASON:-Basically in the process of menstrual period, there is main role of estrogen which causes these changes in one’s mood. In first stage of menstruation, a women body increases the amount of estrogen that is produced by a dramatic rate. Estrogen actually adds to the good feelings that a woman might experience under normal circumstances. When estrogen is increased so are the endorphins, serotonin and enkephalins. These all occur because the woman’s body prepares for pregnancy during the menstrual cycle, these brain chemicals are increased to accommodate that. When the woman does not conceive these chemicals are quickly reduced and this is the cause of the moods that women experience. Women can go from feeling very good to feeling very bad in a very short period of time prior to her actual period.During the time when estrogen is being produced in a large amount by the body, the lining of the uterus is increased and a woman can suffer many other symptoms associated with the menstrual cycle such as headaches, cramps, bloating, cravings, sore breasts and overall tension. All of these symptoms can contribute to the amount and the intensity of the mood swings during the period.
