i got a touch up in my hair on sunday night....today is monday so tomoro is tuesday...and tomorrow my friends want to go swimming but i want to know what will happen when i go swimming...i don't care if it takes the straightness out for a while...because all of my friends hair is like that after swimming.

i heard that you can put conditioner on before and wet it and stuff...but n e more ideas??...i want to know wat will happen to my hair...srry for misspellings..im not thinking because im rushing :-) trying to get answers as fast as i can

i kno it will probably not be completely straight anymore....ive done it before (but it was a week after the relaxer)....im just wondering if my hair will get damaged of fall out or something
.i didnt get a full perm it was just a touch up....on the roots

I just got my hair permed yesterday, should I go swimming?

Sure you can . When you have chemically treated hair, always wet hair before jumping in so that the chlorine is not absorbed. When you get out preferably use a Malibu shampoo to remove the chlorine and other chemicals. Do Not blow dry, it will loosen a percentage of your curl.
Happy Swimming with no regrets.

The only reason you would NOT wet, wash or swim after a perm is if you are a person who has to style their hair with a brush and blowdryer. If you can let it dry natural without the pulling of a brush or tossing of a blow dryer you are okay.
The OLD SCHOOL rules are not true anymore. You can leave the salon and jump in.

I just got my hair permed yesterday. How long should I wait to workout?

You shouldn’t let a hairstyle get in the way of your health. You can go exercise the day your hair is permed. To preserve your style as best as possible wear a headband to absorb sweat and keep your hair in place. Pin it up if needed. After you’re done use a blow dryer on cool to keep your head and scalp fresh.

I had my hair permed yesterday and i hate it,it looks bad. Can i have it straightened or digitally permed?

I got a perm yesterday and i really hate how it looks. i made a big mistake by not inquiring first. i don;t think i can adjust to the way it looks, i'd really like to change it. can i have it relaxed/rebonded just as soon or maybe get a digital perm to fix the curls. my fear is that it might be bad my hair to have it treated again but i'd really like to change it. i don't want to have the curls cut off because my hair would be chin length then. i need help..

What is the difference between a perm, a relaxer and a touch up?

A perm is permanently curling someones hair using chemicals. A relaxer is chemically straightening someones hair. A touch up is doing just that, when their hair grows out, you touch up the regrowth. To either perm the hair or relax only the regrowth.

How long should someone wait to swim after dyeing hair?

You can swim but these are the consIf you swim in a chlorinated pool, or even just stand in one without dunking your head in, the chlorine will get into your hair. Chlorine is a gas that rises and will cling to your hair. It's impossible to get it completely out of your hair. They do sell products that are for chlorine swimmers but they aren't perfect. If you used bleach on hair with chlorine it will get light in no time at all because chlorine and hair bleach are not a friendly mix. The hair will get very warm, like uncomfortable warm/almost hot and it sometimes smokes. Yes, you read that right. It is so scary and you need to rinse that hair faster than lightening with cool water or the hair will break off!So if you have been in chlorine and you plan on getting highlights, bleaching or a perm it will be a waste of money. You will be so sorry. Bleach could burn the hair off your head and cause chemical burns to your skin. A perm solution will not penetrate the chlorine that's attached/clung to your hair. So no curl will happen or stay long enough to talk about.I've seen blonde little kids that swim all summer long and they are green haired kids with the hair texture of a Barbie Doll. And it's like that until it's all grown out and cut off. I use my crappy scissors because their hair is so ruined it could damage my blades on my good shears. And if they don't cut their hair often enough or short enough.. that Barbie Doll hair doesn't go away. It could be a year or two.So lake or salt water would be a better choice to swim in.

If I just got braids, will my hair loosen if I go swimming?

Um, the person who did your braids should have advised you not to get them wet for a least a week, they need to have a chance to "lock" into your own hair or else they'll slide out... like they're doing now. They are not tight anymore because they are sliding out. You should have worn a swimming cap, as usual. Try to not get them wet again for at least a week, to at least preserve what you have. But they will not look nice and new anymore. It's too late now, You'll probably need to get them redone in about 3 or 4 weeks and next time, don't get them wet for at least a week. I know you were ready for the freedom of being able to get your hair wet but the person really should have advised you on how to take care of them... did you go to african hair braiders?

No, going from relaxed to braids is fine as long as you wait at least two weeks from the time you relaxed it. Otherwise it can start to break off. When you remove the braids wait at least two weeks to relax it again. And say relax, not perm... Perm is a chemical that people with straight hair use to make it curly. There is a difference.

Good luck!
