I Got Asked This Question On A Biology Ws .

How do I do these biology questions?

I got this worksheet today in biology class that I don't understand. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

The cell membrane of red blood cells is permeable to water but not to sodium chloride, Na Cl. Suppose that you have three flasks:
*Flask X contains a solution that is 0.5 percent Na Cl.
*Flask Y contains a solution that is 0.9 percent Na Cl.
*Flask Z contains a solution that is 1.5 percent Na Cl.
To each flask, you add red blood cells, which contain a solution that is 0.9 percent Na Cl.

4. Predict what will happen to the red blood cells in flask X.

5. Predict what will happen to the red blood cells in flask Y.

6. Predict what will happen to the red blood cells in flask Z.

Help biology question..?

Gametogenesis is the production of haploid gametes by diploid multicellular
organisms through the process of meiosis. The production of female gametes
or ova (eggs) is called oogenesis. The production of male gametes or
spermatozoa (sperm) is called spermatogenesis. Oogenesis occurs within the
follicles of the ovaries. The meiosis of oocytes always results in halpoid
cells of unequal size. When a primary oocyte undergoes meiosis, a large
halpoid secondary oocyte and a very small first polar body result. A second
meiotic division produces a large ootid and a very small second polar body.
The first polar body may or may not divide during the second meiotic
division into two additional second polar bodies. All the polar bodies are
non-functional. After meiosis, the ootid quickly differentiates into the
mature egg cell or ovum. The unequal cytokinesis that occurs has the
advantage of providing the ovum with a much greater amount of cytoplasm and
stored food than if an equal division were to occur. Thus, the non-motile
ovum supplies a developing embryo with most of its cytoplasm and food while
the much smaller but highly-motile sperm contributes mainly genetic
material to the embryo.

3 biology questions that i need help on because i got them wrong.... ????

1- The wings of those two animals would be analogous. B/c they both serve the same function; however, they differ evolutionarily or embryologically.

2- I'm not sure what your instructor was looking for here. A vestigial structure is a structure that no longer serves the purpose it evolved for. For example, a bird that has wings but can't fly- that would be a vestigial structure. So, as a biologist, I would first infer that evolution does exist- but more specifically, I would note that this organism has evolved, since the existence of vestigial structures is due to changes in the environment and/or behavior patterns of the organism. And I would note that the organism has a similar characteristic as another species and therefore, may have evolved from that species. (Ie: humans have a coccyx- aka tailbone- that's a vestigial feature, but that structure is present among other primates and one may conclude that other species of primates and humans are related.)

3- B/c the structure may still retain some secondary purpose and evolution doesn't happen over night. If the structure is completely use-less then it would take several generations for it to "disappear," especially if the vestigial structure isn't a problem for survival. You may see a feature that could be damaging to the organism absent the next generation- if it was dependent on its survival.

Need helps with 2 biology questions that i got wrong...........???

I am not 100% confident with my answer but anyway, i try.

1) Describe two pieces of evidence indicating that speciation does not always occur at the same rate.

For e.g. Speciation between a human being and a bacteria. Do they evolve at a same rate? Answer is No, they do not occur at same rate. Bacteria obiously evolve AND reproduce much more faster than human being.

So how rapid can speciation be? Obviously very rapid. That means rapid mutations. Do rapidly speciating groups of creatures have faster, bigger mutations than others? No. Recent evidence suggests that humans (and gorillas and chimpanzees) have very large mutation rates, yet none of those groups has produced spectacularly rapid speciation on the scale of cichlids or fruitflies.

2) Melting of the polar ice caps will raise the level of the oceans, causing some peninsulas to become islands.

This is bad. Firstly, "peninsulas to become islands" means more species extinction, less land (ocean have flood the land), less food (less land for food), thus resulted in less reproduction rate (no land no food), and life chain cycle increases (because less land area).

Secondly, global warming might increase in world temperature level. Again, facing mass extinction again.

How do I study biology for NEET and AIIMS?

Score 360/ 360 in NEET Biology.Follow the schedule given by Crash Course and you can secure a minimum of 300+ marks in NEET Biology.I have laid down all the important aspects outside NCERT + all the content of NCERT with proper illustrations. For example : A few slides of the digestive system lectureMy lectures are designed in such a manner that it saves a lot of time. For instance we can complete a chapter like excretory system in merely 2 hours.Students need to follow a simple drill to score good marks in NEET Biology.Lecture + NCERT Extract ( Will be made available in form of podcast too ) + Practice paper assigned ( 90 questions Daily ) + Minor and Major Test series ( A total of 24 tests held every alternate day. Video solution will be provided for the same which will be a revision booster ).You only need to devote 4.5 hrs daily for biology and this includes your lecture time also.Free Live streaming session will begin from 17th March 2019.We will take a total of 100 registrations. In order to sign up kindly send the following details on Anand.mani1611@gmail.comYour Name, Contact Number and City. The schedule will be notified to you on 1st of March on the given contact number. The entire course is free of cost. The test series is payable for a price of RS 1500.The lectures are still free of cost.

I have some questions i don't quite get on a biology worksheet?help please?(:?

a. Yes, mammals evolved from mammal-like reptiles (therapsids) in the triassic period, and coexisted throughout the mesozoic era with dinosaurs. Early mammals were very small and only evolved into larger more specialised species after the dinosaurs were in decline.

b. Yes, think about it in terms of evolution. Plants evolved flowers in order to encourage insect-driven pollination. If there were no insects, there would be no selective advantage for plants to evolve flowers.

c. Yes, birds evolved from dinosaurs. Some dinosaurs had bird-like hips (Ornithischian dinosaurs) which are evidence of the evolutionary roots of birds.

d. No, no hominins were alive when the dinosaurs were living. The only mammals which lived then were small rodent-like mammals.

How many questions are repeated from previous years in NEET?

dear aspirants nearly 6–7 ques repeat in neet every year , this 6–7 i am talking about same ques with nearly same option . of that , majority will be from inorganic chemistry 3–4 ques from inorganic chemistry and 3 ques from biology . in neet , for biology they have only option ncert , they have to revolve around ncert concept . so, to understand the ques making pattern u need to do prev year ques . THERE are specific trend in which neet frames ques ( this is acc to my observation ) 1- in biology , suppose in 2017 they asked a ques , while solving that paper look at the options also , in 2018 , there must be a ques on that options . 2- in physical chemistry/physics , they look upon mainly on formula , in the last 10 year , they will try to frame ques on each and every formula present on that chapter . 3- for organic chemistry , neet copy ques from jee main. 4- for inorganic chemistry , they copy ques from prev year and try to change the options , or they will copy it from aiims / jipmer exam . AND REMEMBER 1 THING - suppose neet 2017 ask ques from menstrual cycle , then in the next 4–5 year they will try not to frame ques from menstrual cycle ( sometimes it happens ) LAST 3 DAYS STRATEGY FOR NEET 2018 ( HOW TO DEAL WITH THE PAPER IN EXAM HALL )LAST 15–20 DAYS STRATEGY for neet 2018 ( watch the full video , it will benefit you for sure )some of my answer which will help you in prep. Umakant Biswal's answer to How can I reach a score of 550+ in the NEET 2018 in the remaining time? I have finished the biology portion, but have not not yet started physics and chemistry? I am scoring 400 in the test series out of which 280-300 is from biology.Umakant Biswal's answer to Which topics are important for the NEET 2018?HOPE IT CLEARS ALL THE BEST ..

Biology worksheet 3-2 molecules of life?

You ask this as if that was the only worksheet for bio on earth. Goodness.

You can try googling the questions, but I doubt you'll get the answers.
