I Got Bit By A Dog And It

What does it feel like to be bit by a dog?

I have been bitten several times over the years and it HURTS. most of the bites were delivered by large breed dog's, (German Shepherds in particular since I bred and trained this breed for years) and with the exception of one (an aggressive Dalmatian who attacked and bit my chin), the bites were received in play, or through my negligence while training. But, accidental or intentional, they all hurt - and usually for couple of days. Received stitches for 3 of the bites. The rest were superficial.

HELP I GOT BIT BY A DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Okay what you need to do is make sure the dog has had all their shots and if you can't you must see a doctor. It sounds like he just bruised your skin if he cut the skin or it bled apply some rubbing acohol to it and lay a bandage over it until it closes. It should eal up soon and if it becomes infected go to the doctor. Also please don't blame the dog it was probably just bad breeding not fixes or the owner messed it up

My dogs nose got bit?

My dog just got bit by another dog. She has one small tooth mark "hole" on the top of her nose. She hasn't been acting very weird. The vet is closed, and I'm not sure what to do. The dog is a family pet, so I'm sure it's up to date on shots, and so is mine. She keeps lickig her wound, and it's the only one. It's pretty small, but kinda deep. Any help would be great. I'm over seas and there is no vet open today for me to take her, not even an ER. PLEASE HELP, thanks!

I got bitten by a dog, What do i do?

Being bitten by a dog is nothing to take lightly... particularly if the dog was a stray. If it was owned by a person, the likelihood that it will give you rabies is slim to none because responsible pet owners vaccinate their dogs against the disease. If the pet has an owner, get in contact with them if possible and see if they can provide the dog's vaccination record. If the dog has been vaccinated, then you'll be fine as far as rabies is concerned. Bacteria LOVE warm, moist, dark places... all the things a bandage provides. Provided that it's not still bleeding or oozing, leave it open to air as much as possible. Should you go out anywhere, you may want to cover it still, particularly if it is not scabbed over. If it is scabbed over, you should be fine.
And watch for signs of infection... increased redness, pain, swelling and heat and green, yellow, or foul smelling drainage are all reasons to visit the doctor.

Have you ever been bit by a dog? what kind?

Oh yes... I worked part time at a groomers before Xmas and I got bitten ;
3 times by jack russels.
Once by a golden mix
Once by a border collie
2 times by a chihuahua

(Please note! I do not hate any of the breeds that NIPPED me, most did not like getting groomed and one was my fault since I startled him(Golden X)
But the worst I think was when I was on Holiday and I saw a dog sitting on our Friends stairs leading up to her flat.I thought the dog was theres so I went to stroke it, it most probably has never been touched by a Human so it it me on my finger. The dog was a street dog. I had to have a big injection because of all the deceases he might have been carrying.
Ever since That I can't pet a dog on the head without being a bit scared. (of course that too was my fault)

I got bit by a dog, can it cause rabies?

If the dog had rabies, the woman wouldn't be able to walk it. This dog was just unobedient. You said that you freaked. Dogs are predators, they attack if you behave like a victim. Nothing unusual ;) You'll be allright.

Btw, small dogs are especially agressive, because they try to make up for their size ;)

If you are bitten by a dog, can you simply just observe the dog for 10 days, and if he or she is still alive, then it is impossible for you to have contracted rabies. Correct?

I was bitten by a dog and people say the dog should not die. Why does this happen?

I have a scar above my eye from a dog bite. I was 18, it was Christmas, and my father brought one of his hunting dogs in for a visit. As I petted the dog, with my face very close to his, he suddenly snapped. Blood everywhere, a trip to the emergency room, stitches for me.Putting the dog down was never a question. Indeed, it turned out the dog had a hot spot, and I inadvertently touched it. I hurt him, so he snapped. My fault, not his.In the past, it was customary to put down a dog for biting even once under the theory that a single bite would always lead to another, worse bite. Neither circumstance nor provocation was ever taken into account. Thankfully, we have become more discerning, and we realize that only rarely is a biting dog irredeemable. So how came the dog to bite you? Your explanation of what led up to the bite will likely explain why others think the dog who bit you should not be euthanized.
