How much is my 1976 Schwinn Stingray worth?
It is hot pink with banana seat, huffy bar, and all that good stuff. However, it doesn't have the original tires and has a little bit of rust though I shined it as best as I could. The paint is mostly fine, but some parts are chipped. The Stingray logo graphics are visible. I want to sell it ebay, but I don't want to charge to much or not enough. I have seen ones ranging from 5,000 dollars to 250 .Thanks!
Can a stingray bite you with its mouth?
Yes it can bite you. The teeth are like grains on sandpaper so the sensation is odd but not painful. As soon as it tastes you, it will release the bit of your skin it bit. There will not even be a mark. The poisoned barb by its tail is another story entirely. Immerse any puncture from the barb immediately in as hot water as you can stand. The poison is deactivated by heat.

How was your experience eating a stingray?
It depends on the species of stingrays. It also depends on the sizes. In general, they taste good. We cook those up to 10 kg, and they are okay.Sting ray curry, yummy, no sharp bones. Cook like for Fish Head curry, Indian style or Nyonya style. Add brinjal, long beans, lady’s finger, cabbage, etc.Stingray in pickle vegetable, very nice, Nyonya style especially.Baked Stingray, Portuguese style, taste good.Ikan Bakar Stingray, very good.Assam pedas stingray, hot!Stingray cutlets in sweet and sour, the whole 5 kg fish was gone during a potluck dinner.This is how we got rid of the big stingray, I caught. We usually show up with curry chicken, Nyonya style, a bit more curry sauce than the drier Debal Curry Chicken.
Stingrays: How do you catch a stringray?
If you just want to catch smaller ones, say up to 2 1/2 ft across ( "wingspan"), you can catch them using a regular fishing rig, i.e. a pole with a monofilament or braided line, a strong leader and rigged to be fished on the bottom. They will eat shrimp, fiddler crab, or a piece of cut bait on a hook. The ray's mouth is underneath, and they eat by "vacuuming" food up off the bottom. In shallow water, they are also fairly easy to "gig" using a 3 or 4 pronged barbed spear head on the end of a long stick.Having said all that, Sting Rays are among the most docile and beautiful fish, and because they tend to suck the bait up deep into their mouths, they are difficult to get off the hook. For this reason, I don't like to catch them unless they are going to be eaten, because getting the hook out can damage their throat/mouth etc. In other words I don't catch them just for sport like I might most other species which are often caught and released.
What can i use to punch holes in stingray wings to make fake scallops?
I have ate stingray a few times now and find it a little bit hard to clean them by cutting the wings off and skinning them. I was told it is much easier to just punch holes in the wings but i was just wondering what would be the best way to do that. The rays here in Tampa Bay are good with some flounder.
