I Got My Wisdom Teeth Out And I Ate Chicken

Can you eat orange chicken after having wisdom teeth pulled?

You don't want to take a chance of pushing food down into raw tissue. Your dentist should have given you instructions about eating. Even if no dental surgery was involved, there should be some swelling and it would be easy to get food stuck between gum and cheek, etc. Wisdom teeth are deep-rooted. I wouldn't eat anything really "chewy" like chicken for a couple of days - or at least until I could talk to my dentist.

On the other hand, if you're a minor and your mom took you to the dentist, she might have talked to him/her and been given the after-care instructions.

Wisdom teeth removed?

Milkshakes (DON'T US A STRAW!!-your tear the stitches out), ice cream, popsicles, cottage cheese, pudding, yogurt, jello and soups (broth or tomato-not too hot). You can have cranberry sauce too (I hate it!) Cooked yams or sweet potatoes (peeled and boiled, little bit of brown sugar!)

I got my wisdom teeth out on a Wednesday and was eating chicken tenders, pizza, and cheese sticks on Friday---not recommended-but it was new years eve! I think they say 5 days for easier to chew foods (ham, chicken, bread, etc.), and a week or more for really hard things like carrots, hard candy, uncooked broccoli, etc.

I sprained my jaw and couldn't chew for three days and that is what I ate. I was more careful with my jaw than with my wisdom teeth. I had one of the best recoveries after my wisdom teeth. I ate everything I wasn't suppose to and he said it looked amazing at my one week appt. (of course I told him I followed all the rules!)

I did not take the codeine because it made me sick, so I just took motrin (not sure if it was otc or the 300 mg from the doc.) They tell you to use ice too, but I didn't and I didn't get any swelling--most people do swell--especially if they don't ice. Excedrin may be good too--I think that is like the best new medicine! (for me anyway).

Foods to eat after wisdom teeth surgery?

jaw breakers and real thivk hard corn chips......ok, you have oatmeal, scrambled eggs with cheese, tuna, egg salad, grilled cheese, stuffing mix, mashed potatos, throw lots of things into a pot and boil them silly and you will have a great stew, chicken pot pie, mac and cheese, as you can see I like to eat! the list keeps going, you will fins lots of things, and be alright, rinse your mouth every night with warm salt water!

Is it safe to eat soup after I get my wisdom teeth out?

Yeah! Just don't bite the chicken or the noodles or just swallow them. I got my wisdom teeth removed 2 years ago and the dentist told me I can eat anything I would like only if I feel good or able to eat it.

What is the best food to eat after getting your wisdom teeth out?

Eating after wisdom teeth should be dictated by both comfort and nutrition, after having wisdom teeth (or any teeth) extracted.Swelling in the face is common after wisdom teeth are removed, and will cause trismus (difficulty in opening the mouth).  This usually peaks about 3 days after surgery, and can be quite pronounced - some patients can barely fit a finger between their teeth.  Of course, this also makes eating quite difficult and painful.  Soft foods are usually the most comfortable for patients, as they do not require as much mouth opening, and minimize chewing.  Foods with a mushy consistency (eg scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes) are helpful.  Fish dishes, smoothies, and soups are excellent choices because they do not require significant chewing.  Meal replacement drinks (Boost, Ensure) can also be purchased and are good high calorie options. As healing progresses and the swelling goes down, you will find it easier to chew.  The diet can progress to harder and more substantial foods as comfort allows.Foods should not be too hot after surgery.  Many times the local anesthesia from the wisdom tooth surgery has not yet worn off, and burns from hot food in the mouth can occur before feeling any pain.  In addition there is a risk that overly hot foods may cause the blood clots to dissolve, and increase bleeding. It is also important to stay hydrated, and to maintain a diet rich in nutrients.  This is required to give the body enough building blocks and energy to recover from the wisdom tooth surgery.

What can I eat the day after getting my wisdom teeth out?

I had my wisdom teeth out yesterday morning. It has been about 32 hours. I havent been in pain and have been following the dentists orders.

I am extremely hungry and can not stand to eat anymore applesauce, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, or anything 100% mushy. I was considering eating a lunchables pizza set (pita bread + sauce + cheese) - is this ok at this stage in my recovery? What else is ok at this point?

Also, please dont just give me a list of mushy foods. I am educated and informed on what i can eat in regards to the first 24 hours and mushy foods. I am looking for semisolid options and whether or not I can eat a lunchables set. Thank you!
