I Got My Wisdom Teeth Out Today And My Face Is So Puffy Help

Is your face still swollen the day after you get your wisdom teeth out?

Swelling is the body’s normal reaction to surgery and healing. The amount of post op swelling is dependent on the severity of the surgery (there is far more tissue and bone damage when removing an impaction than with removing an erupted tooth), your response to that trauma (some people bruise and swell more than others) and infection, if any.The swelling will usually peaks in 2-3 days. After this time, it should decrease. It can persist for 7-10 days. If your swelling hasn't begun to subside after 4 days or is increasing, contact your dentist.Swelling may be minimized by the immediate use of ice packs. Apply the ice packs to the outside of the face 20 minutes on and then 20 minutes off while awake for the first 24 hours.

Swelling on one side of my face after Wisdom Teeth extraction?

Hello, I just got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday and I noticed that the swelling on one side of my face is much larger than the swelling on the other, is this problematic or normal in my case?

It doesn't hurt anymore or really feel any different, but it's definitely bigger on the left than on the right. Does it sound like an infection, or is it just happenstance that it is more swollen?

Wisdom teeth = swollen face... what do I do!?

This is not unusual. DO not smoke. Keep rinsing with an antiseptic mouthrinse such as Corsodyl and warm salty water to drain any infection. Do not worry about the bleeding unless it is constant steady bleeding. A small amount of blood can look alot worse than it is as the blood stains the saliva. Keep going with the Ibuprofen. YOu're bext taking a day or rtwo off work though.

How can I treat a swollen face after removing wisdom teeth?

Usually swelling takes 4–5 days to resolve. Analgesics prescribed by your doctor would take care of the swelling. My list of post operative instructions to my patients of wisdom tooth surgery areIce Cold drinks for first 24 hours and ice packs on cheek area.Hot and warm food 24 hours after Sugery.Warm saline rinses 3–4 Times a day.Normal brushing and to maintain oral hygiene.Try open your mouth wide.No restrictions on eating talking and to carry on normal activities.Normal activity would help in speedy recovery by the muscle contractions and the edema would dissipate early. You too can follow the same instructions if you like and if your doctor doesn’t mind it.

My face is asymmetrical after WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTION. Lost my dimple, jaw is less broad and cheek is thinner (all on the left-hand side of my face). What are my options?

Wisdom teeth extractions do not alter the shape of your face. They would certainly not result in you losing your dimple. The bone on your mandible is unaffected by by the extractions wisdom teeth are removed from the aveolar bone.Look at the wisdom teeth in this picture, they are green. Even if they are not erupted and have to be surgically removed, the procedure does nothing to the outer layer of bone that defines your jawline. The removal of third molars are not going to influence your dimplesIf you are talking about your chin dimple, that is do to a cleft the bone. Has nothing to do with wisdom teeth. If you are talking about cheek dimples, that is due to a genetic defect in the connective tissue of the zygomatic muscle, which again has nothing to do with third molar surgery.EDIT:Now you've gone and edited your question postulating that cheek fat was cut out by mistake.Again, you are way off base.Occasionally when doing a surgical incision, one may encounter the edge of buccal fat pad.But this is not removed.Your options are to stop postulating and visit an oral surgeon or a plastic surgeon for an assessment.

Swollen cheeks after wisdom teeth removed?

Well the swelling could last maybe a week or two, anything after that maybe a allergic reaction to the medication, but after you get them removed depends on how you did it, either surgical or manually, because surgically you will have a whole were the tooth used to be and nasty stuff will come out tasting awful, but cheeks will be swollen and numb according to the medication to ease the pain, but if you aren't on meds, I would wait they may go down just keep icing them if you aren't already I was swollen for the longest time, I got both taken out surgically! I lived on pudding and liquids for weeks, I could not eat right I lost like almost 30 pounds, but not having the pain in my mouth was better then the hunger pains that I was feeling. But most of the time I was not hungry at all due to the nasty erruptions that occured in my mouth, I had to gargle with salt water several times a day, trust me this too shall pass, it takes a little more work then anything you ever done, I cant eat on that side for like months, and you can't eat chips for like a year, I waited a year and a half because I was so unused to it, this was like 4 years ago and I still can't chew correctly on that side but I am pain free, and the swelling is gone, so anyways sorry for the story, but all I can say is to keep it iced, and if you think something is wrong call your Dentist, it's better to be safe then sorry!!!
