I Had Dysphagia Cant Swallow Food And It Caused Me To Vomit Now My Chest Is Really Sore

What could cause chest pain after vomiting?

Two scenarios:
1. You aspirated (something went down into your lungs) some saliva with some trace of stomach acid resulting in pain in the delicate lung tubes.
2. You vomited so much / severely enough to cause irritation to your oesophagus (gullet/food pipe) that it now hurts.

Both scenarios are not serious, although the first scenario can result in a nasty chest infection if it continues. If you are elderly or are on tablets that suppress your immune system you should be careful. If you are young and are in good health then see how it goes. If you start to develop a cough with a thick greeny/white mucous then you should see your doctor.

It's a difficult call since I can't see you. I've done both before myself and it's not a pleasant pain in your chest but more annoying than serious.

Disclaimer: if you are worried, see a doctor since clinical examination is impossible over the internet.

ESOPHAGEAL CANCER - earliest symptoms? (scared bulimic!)?

before it gets difficult to eat solid foods and such, and before the weight loss.
i've been experiencing (on and off) difficulty swallowing, pain in my chest and throat, the feeling of a cut/obstruction (it's hard to explain) in my throat (this has been going on for a few months), and it is extremely easy for food to come up (I can regurgitate simply by swallowing a certain way)
i'm worried because i've been bulimic for the past 5 years and have thrown up very regularly (usually several times a day), with the exception of periods of 2 weeks-maximum of a month when i've tried recovering.
i'm just really worried because i've read that bulimics or people with GERD are at high risk to develop this, and i don't know what else would be causing the symptoms i've been getting but this.
thanks in advance.
(i'm really scared to go to the doctor, which is why i'm asking here first)

What happens if you accidentally swallow plastic piece?

Depending on the size of the plastic piece you swallowed. If it is pill-size small, it will glide down your throat easily, then you don't have to worry much. In a couple of hours you will pass it out with faeces. But for plastic objects as big as a dental prosthesis or other objects about it size which are common swallowed by accident when eating and not chewing properly, it causes choking, sour throat, painful swallowing, pain in the chest or abdomen, etc. Immediately it occurs, it is best to take 5 - 8 spoon full of any cooking oil to help reduce the friction causing the discomfort you may be experiencing at the time and enable the object to flow freely down your system. You will feel a lot better. Do not attempt to induce vomit as it cause adverse choking and pains in your throat.

Should I see a doctor or go to urgent care for difficulty swallowing and pressure in mid lower chest? It's been bothering me for 3 days and the symptoms are increasing.

Yes - go to a gastroenterologist ASAP. I am NOT a doctor but my husband had the same symptoms along with acid reflux and occasionally food impaction (feeling like food was stuck in his throat, not allowing him to swallow the food and eventually his only relief would come from inducing vomiting). He had an Upper Endoscopy and was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE). It’s considered an inflammatory condition of the esophagus which is believed to be a result of food allergies. It may not be your issue at all, but I would get it checked out because pain in his chest was common also (it was due to his esophagus narrowing from the inflammation).

Why can't I swallow anything, including my own saliva, it has been about 6 hours? This happened many times before normally after eating dry foods and I end up vomiting it out of my throat. Doctors have no idea what it is.

You are complaining of an intermittent dysphagia which results in impeded transport in of liquids, solids, or both from pharynx and symptoms presents at times only.Oropharyngeal dysphagia (obstruction in the most proximal part of esophagus) - This presents as difficulty initiating swallowing, nasal regurgitation, and tracheal aspiration followed by coughing. Mostly due to neurogenic causes like Parkinson’s disease and stroke ect and muscular disease like Myasthenia gravis, cricopharyngeal incoordination.Esophageal dysphagia(obstruction in the esophagus/intramural,tansmural,extramural)-This presents with sensation of food sticking in the chest or throat, change in dietary habits, recurrent pneumonia, symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) including heartburn, belching, sour regurgitation, and water brash. Differential diagnosis are Achalasia, diffuse esophageal spasms, esophageal cancer, peptic stricture, esophageal webs and many more.History and physical examination alone is not adequate for diagnosis. Further testing should be done, for example, trans nasal esophagoscopy, Cervical auscultation, Blood tests: Including thyroid-stimulating hormone, vitamin B-12, and creatine kinase especially in neurogenic dysphagia. Also imaging studies like chest x-ray, video fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT) scanning, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and endoscopic examination. So I guess your symptoms mostly directed towards esophageal dysphagia. Better to do the necessary investigations first.Diagnosis of achalasia, A Sri Lankan study

Sore throat feels like im going to vomit?

You probably have strep if your throat is deep red with white patches, you have a fever that started suddenly and the lymph nodes in your neck are painfully enlarged. If the infection isn't causing major discomfort and doesn't seem to be serious, wait for your doctor to confirm strep throat by taking a throat culture. But antibiotics won't help and may harm if a virus is the culprit. That's likely if you have other cold or flu symptoms such as a stuffy or runny nose or sneezing. While viral infections generally resolve on their own, see your doctor if the soreness lasts more than three days. If you experience extreme fatigue, difficulty opening your mouth or severe difficulty swallowing, seek help immediately; you may have an abscess. And good luck.

Acid Reflux & Difficulty Swallowing.?

All of this sounds like what has been going on with me for numerous years.

I have recently solved the problem with a simple solution. I thought I was allergic to yeast or wheat and stopped it all. My throat would constrict until I was frightened. I also had unbelievable acid reflux..

Through the Internet I have searched to try to solve the problem. My symptoms all come up under Candida. (Google and read about it) But the solution is colon cleansing. Your bowels do not empty fully and get coated and we get sick from the problem. If your bowels do not empty daily, your stomach is staying full too long and the acid from your stomach is backing up into your throat for acid reflux. After that came the allergy and throat constriction problems.

I am drinking a fiber Like Citrusil(from the Pharmacy) in juice every morning and night before bed. I am also taking a stool softener about three or four times a week. Eating dried plums and drinking prune juice will help with this problem also. All of these are natural solutions and should cause no problems at all.

In just the first week my throat problems went away and my acid reflux along with a ton of other allergic symptoms. My digestion is perking along. Thanks to a simple solution.

Please give it a try , It can't hurt and you will feel better. Try to eat as healthy as possible.

Good Luck.
