I Had My Ears Pierced A Few Years Ago But They Closed Over The Earrings. Could I Have Them Re

I got my ears pierced and after 6 weeks took out the earrings, but I can't get them back in, help!?

Ear lobe piercings take 3 months to fully heal and not 6 weeks at any case.

If you've went at a professional piercing studio ( they pierce only with needles ) they'd have inform you better about aftercare and healing time.

There is nothing to do now, but get them re-pierced.

Scar tissue ( the new skin that is naturally created to heal a piercing )needs to form inside to fully heal and piercing and this takes time.
Also piercings start to heal from the outside in, so they might look healed after a while but they are not in the inside, they are still open wounds.

So to do it right, go to a professional piercing to get them redone and keep the earrings in for 3 months without removing them ( not even once ).

Keep cleaning them with sea salt soaks twice a day for the whole healing period, avoid touching and twisting the jewelry or changing it etc.

How long should I wait to repierce my ears after they have closed up?

I have had my ears (lobes) pierced for about 3 years and have constantly worn earrings because from experience, my holes have closed up in about a day. I took my earrings out on New Years Day and a few days ago when I tried to put them back in, they would no longer go in. I irritated them when I tried to force them back in as well. I was wondering how long I have to wait until I can have them re-pierced? Also, I normally get them pierced at a place in the mall with the piercing gun, but I was wondering if getting them done at a real tattoo/piercing parlor would prevent them from closing in the future? Thank you!

My pierced ears keep closing.....?

Everyone's body reacts differently towards piercings. Yours just happens to be one of many that needs to wear jewelry often in order to keep the piercing. If you want to play sports and keep your ears pierced, try some fishing line. It works wonders! Also, wearing a bit of heavier earrings should help a bit when you're able to. That will obviously stretch out your ear a bit more. What you could also do is go to a piercer and they can stretch your ears a bit for you so this doesn't continue to happen. Of course you will need to keep earrings in while they heal.

My ear piercing closed up?

Make sure the ear ring you're using is pointy, like the ones used to pierce it the first time.
I have that problem when I leave the rings out too long, too. I can usually get a ring through it half way from the front then I have to flip the ear lobe over, find where the hole was and push it through from the back. Works every time for me and it isn't very painful.
If you can't find where the hole was on the back side of your ear, then you may have to get it pierced again.
Either way, avoid the alcohol if you can, get Ear Care from the place that pierces it again or anywhere they pierce ears.

Ear Piercings Keep Closing?

well, how long ago did u pierce them. this is something my mother did for me while i was still little. after u pierce your ears, before wearing earings, you need to keep them open by pulling a string through the lobe to keep it open for a while, tie it together and dont take it off until you think its ready enough to keep open. after this, in order to take the string off (advice: leave it on for 2 weekd or so) just snip it. it will probably stay open for ever now. the last time i wore the string was in the 2nd grade, im now in the 7th grade and i dont wear earings every day and they are still open.
hopw this helps.
i know some answer readers are wondering how this works, if you've never worn earings before, u wont know what metals ur alergic to. this strand will keep it from infecting as much as some metals.

Why do my earlobes close up after a few days without earrings even though I've had them pierced for about 15 years?

I actually have this problem as well, although my ears have only been pierced for four years. The problem is that your piercings are being chronically irritated. Ear piercings that have healed normally won’t close up so easily. There could be many reasons behind why your ears didn’t heal properly. You may have a metal allergy that is constantly irritating your ears, or it may just be the type of earring, or how you change your earrings. Even sleeping on your side can irritate them. You have a few options. One is to buy earrings that are completely nickel free. Even most gold and silver earrings will contain some nickel. If you’re really worried about it you could try surgical-grade stainless steel/titanium, or 14–16 karat gold. Costume/cheap earrings are the absolute worst idea, so don’t wear them! The next option is to let your piercings close up completely, then get new piercings with safe metal, and leave them it for at least 6 weeks without changing them. If you disturb them, you’ll probably end up with the same problem as before. The last option is what I’ve been doing; just toughing it out. I keep round backed studs in everyday, cleaning occasionally, in addition to when I change my earrings. I never leave my earrings out for more than a day. I did once, and my hole partially closed up. Ouch.

Is it alright to re-pierce your ears in the same spot if they closed up?

about a year ago i got my ears pierced for the first time and it was fine, i let them heal and started wearing regular earrings when it was ok to....then i just didnt wear any for about 2 days and they began closing up...trying to put an earring back in hurt like helllll and it even bled a little so i just left it alone and didnt bother wearing earrings anymore. now its been about a year and i'd like to get them repierced...i know now that you gotta leave earrings in for a while or theyll close up fastttt. would it be safe to get them done in the exact same spots they had been before? they've closed up but you can still tell they've been pierced. please help me outt...thanks soo mucchh!!!

Can I go a day without wearing earrings? I’ve had a piercing for a month and a half. Will it close up if I don’t wear them?

New piercings have to be kept open. As far as your body is concerned it is a wound, and your flesh will attempt to heal it.Get yourself a tiny pair of gold or sterling posts that you can just leave in 24/7, changing them out whenever you want to wear something more dramatic.
