I Had My Green Card Interview Now After How Much Time Will I Get My Green Card

How long does it take to get green card after interview ?

my husband and I had the marriage green card interview on Nov. 7th. And the officer told us that I will get the card in the mail in 4 weeks.
it has been almost 4 weeks now but we haven't get any mails from the USCIS. i didn't get the approve letter after the intervew. the officer just told us that i will get the green card in 4 weeks. i checked online it says that my case is still pending.
my questions are how long does it take for the uscis send the card after interview and why didn't i get a approve letter after the interview?
thank you very much for helpping

I lost my green card and i have a interview?

No, there's no interview. You just fill out the I-90 form and mail it in, accompanied by a check for $450. Now here's some advice: imagine it would cost $4,500 to replace it. Perhaps then you will not lose it again! I had two Green Cards, and they lived all of their life in a locked firesafe box, inside a locked steel cabinet, inside a locked room of my house. Impossible to lose it there. The only time you need to carry your Green Card is when you are traveling internationally or if you have an appointment at the USCIS, SSA, DMV, etc. Even for work and I-9 purposes, all you need is your driver's license and unrestricted SS card.

I went through that process some years ago now (marriage-based application) but I do recall it was a good while from the time I completed the interview to the time my Green Card arrived.I don’t think there was any particular source of controversy with my application - my wife and I were clearly genuinely married, and had several children together by this point. It was simply that the wheels of the government bureaucracy take some time to turn.Sit tight, and one day not long from now I’m sure your Green Card will appear in the mail, on a day when you weren’t thinking about it.One word of caution - if you have work authorization and/or an EAD card that is expiring in the next 3–4 months, I would take the necessary steps to renew it out of an abundance of caution. At some point along this journey I recall my EAD was expiring but my Green Card still hadn’t materialized. It left me in quite a jam for a period of time.

Matt Pickering has it right. In the best case scenario, the US citizen has filed an I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancé(é) with supporting forms and documents, and the non-citizen has been granted a K-1 Fiancé(é) Visa. They then enter the US with that visa, marry the US citizen within 90 days, and as soon as possible after getting married, the US Citizen files an I-485 Petition for Alien Relative, along with supporting forms and documents. If the processing centers aren’t too backed up, it can take as little as 3 months to receive work and travel authorizations (presuming an I-765 Application for Employment Authorization and an I-131 Application for Travel Document were filed along with the I-485, which is pretty typical), with the Green Card following a month or two later. In my wife’s case, we were delayed quite some time after the wedding, because our (US) wedding took place in Hawaii, where official wedding certificates are processed through a central Vital Statistics office in Honolulu and take forever to become available! I think we had to wait something like 6 weeks after the wedding to request an official copy, which of course was necessary for filing the I-485.

Second Marriage Interview for Green Card?

I agree with the above post about it being a Stokes Interview.

From a post at http://www.familybasedimmigration.com/fo... by mixchel

A Stokes Interview is generally conducted when there is some question about the bonafide nature of the marriage. It is a second AOS interview, it will probably be videotaped and the Service may perform a certain number of them as random quality control.

Sheila Murthy wrote this in one of her articles:
Love - Not Sufficient Alone for Getting GC!
Assuming the couple is in the U.S., they will have to appear before the INS for a joint interview, sometimes called the "Stokes interview". The INS will question them together regarding the marriage and the documents offered in support of the marriage. The INS Examiner will judge their demeanor, the way they interact together and other relevant factors. In cases where the INS has misgivings, the couple can be interviewed separately for extended periods. In these separate interviews, the couples are asked details of their daily lives and backgrounds. Their answers are later compared. The questioning goes beyond things that could be memorized prior to the interview. The couple is given a chance to respond in writing to explain discrepancies and provide further documentation, if after the interview the INS determines that the case is not appropriate for approval.

The couple must also demonstrate that all prior marriages were validly terminated. If the beneficiary previously attempted to gain immigration benefits through a marriage, the INS will have to be satisfied that there was no fraud in the earlier marriage. If there was fraud involved in an earlier marriage there is a permanent bar against gaining benefits though a later marriage.

note: this article was written in 2002, hence the references to "INS", now USCIS.

I already had my interview with immigration for my green card, how much do i have to wait?

i had my interview on November 20 2007 they asked my parent for more files of any other marriages in other country for my mother and family background.she never married any other than my stepfather, the one who we getting us the green card.my stepfather got a second degree felony and he is a resident, also me and my mother have waited more than a year and we have working permit while the green card is in file.

How long after a green card interview can I expect to receive the actaul green card?

It took my husband about 6 months. I think. I comes in the mail. It even could take 3 months, but I would give it 6 months just to be on the safe side.

If you had your interview and the INS stamped your passport then you pretty much have been approved.

If you are an American Citizen he will only have to wait 3 years to to apply for his Citizenship. Must apply though about 6 months before so he can get in and get tested. Test is just to know the American History.

Actually it is not my personal question. Generally under present circumstances and USA government rule position , if you married American , it takes one year (apprxmtly) to obtain the green card. Any how as per the real condition, the answer for this question is pending with the government because we don't know that how much time takes to get green card as per prescribed rules that are existing. It is different that the time taken to get GC from country to country i.e. if you married with American you will get with in one year and if it is with UK, Australia, Canada and Soudhi the time you can espect early comparatively with India. Actually the time bounded, we could not able to tell. It is depend upon by the US government. But one thing is sure if you married other than Indian, there is scope to get early but correct time we could not declared.

The truth is, it all comes down to processing time which can vary considerably. The main thing you can do to “speed up” the process is to make sure that you’ve done everything properly on your end.Common reasons for a green card denial:Failure to meet deadlinesImproperly filling out necessary paperworkFailure to attend interviewFailure to provide additional documentationViolated immigration lawsHealth risks (not a likely issue if you already have a visa)Economic restrictions (limited green cards for individuals who require government assistance)The reality is, the process can take several years to complete, but you definitely don’t want to let yourself become a roadblock. To avoid this, you should seek the assistance of an experienced immigration attorney.LawTrades can help.
