I Had Took Science Pmc In 11th And I Want To Take Commerce In 12th.

Can I change from commerce to science?

Hello.
I'm a grade 10 commerce student (IGCSE curriculum). I chose to study commerce only because of my friends' constant persuasion, I want to change from commerce to science, for that i probably will have to go to a CBSE curriculum school next year because they start streams after grade 11. Is it possible for me to change to science from commerce without repeating a year?. I'm ready to even sit and study what i have missed out this year on my vacation. :'(
Since childhood i had a very distinct curiosity and love for science and now i deeply regret for not taking science that i have even cried once thinking about it because my dad always wanted me to be biologist or a cosmologist or at least a doctor. I was also very good in bio and physics last year.
I am considering to change not because commerce is tough or anything. Its just not my type and its boring.
P.s. Please give a positive answer or else tell me something that can motivate me to continue with commerce.
Thank you very much.

Which is easier Science or Commerce in class 11th and 12th?

Of course commerce. All those people in other answers saying that both are same are over generalizing it with more of philosophical way rather than reality. Like “nothing is easy or difficult, it is upto your interest”. All this is bullshit.Let me explain you everything in detail.Commerce is mostly generalised. I mean everything is fixed. There are many theoretical subjects. In science, you have practical application of everything. You need to have vast knowledge of concepts in order to solve physics numericals.Chemistry is pretty tough. Give any student 10 mins and give them any choice of commerce topic and give them any topic in physics and chemistry. I bet the person would not even understand what is wrote in physics/chemistry but will understand the topic of commerce easily. In commerce you don't have derivation like physics. Each chapter has minimum 10 derivation. The syllabus has 20 chapters per year. You will have to learn 200 derivations independently. It is not an easy task.Commerce doesn't have 100’s of chemical reactions which are independent of each other. Organic chemistry is damn tough. Same with inorganic. Plus physical chemistry is full with lengthy calculations. What about practicals?Science has practicals of every subject. Physics, Chemistry, Maths Biology and vocational subjects like CS, IT, EM etc. Maintaining the journals requires lots of time. You don't have much practicals in commerce.Entrance exam:Even a commerce student will agree that entrance exams in science are much more difficult. JEE and NEET are the toughest entrance in the world if not in the country. Plus you have whole 2 years of syllabus in the exam. It is damn vast. The syllabus is absolutely nuts. There is no doubt that commerce is very easy compare to science. Many people will say that this answer is wrong. This type of people are trying to defend their field, nothing else and over generalising.Science is a great field same with commerce. But the fact is not hidden that commerce is easy compare to science. Science field requires more effort but if you love what you do, no need to worry about it. You will succeed for sure. Don't hesitate to take science field, I am not frightening you all, but I am telling you that it requires a bit more effort. You can do it if you work hard.Best of luck.

Which has more hard maths commerce or science?

In India, For classes 11 and 12, Maths syllabus is common for Science and Arts streams and it is slightly different for commerce stream. eg., you will have topics like discounts, rebates, profit and loss etc. which are missing from the science and arts syllabi. In senior college, Maths is at a higher level in the science stream than the arts stream.  Ultimately, your future goals should help you decide. If you wish to pursue engineering, physics, pure mathematics and statistics, acturial science or economics at senior college, than the higher maths in science/arts will help. If your goal is to go into CA, finance, CFA, MBA etc. or if you want to go into a field unrelated to maths (say media or designing) after 12th, then maths nin the commerce stream should suffice. But whatever you want to do in the future, it's best to continue with maths till 12th std level because it opens up a lot of options.Till 12th standard you have read same text books for both ,so there is no difference in science and commerce mathematics. After Xll , a science student can get two or more mathematics courses in a year , at least in first year each Institute give a mathematics course along with other subject. On the other hand , a commerce student rarely need to solve differential equation higher than order one i.e. linear differential equation. In micro economics you have to understand relation between cost and quantity demanded ,like stuff. so can easily be interpreted from  characteristic curves . Accountancy required a got grasp at statics, that is not a problem at all. So I think mathematics is equally important to a science and a commerce student ,but more analytical skills are required for a science mathematics...

What options do Commerce students have In NIFT. Details please.?

Yes, you'll have to wait an entire year if you want to get into NIFT because admissions in NIFT is based on the student's performance in its entrance exams and NIFT written entrance exam for July 2011 session was on 20th feb. You have missed it.

About options for commerce students in NIFT: There are 2 types of UG courses offered, B.Des & B.FTech.

For B.Des, it doesn't matter what subjects you have studied in 11th & 12th. Admissions are done on the basis of written entrance exam and situation test. The eligibility to apply for the entrance exam is passed marks in 12th and you should not have reached the upper age limit (which is 23 years). Following types of BDes are offered at NIFT:

B.Des. (Fashion Design)
B.Des. (Leather Design)
B.Des. (Accessory Design)
B.Des. (Textile Design)
B.Des. (Knitwear Design)
B.Des. (Fashion Communication)

For B.FTech (Apparel Production), one should have taken PCM in 11th & 12th. So, this option is not for commerce students.

If you are going to apply for NIFT next year, then, remember that the application forms of NIFT entrance exams are usually available from third week of November to last week of December or first week of January and the entrance exam is usually conducted in second or third week of February.

Hope I helped...Good Luck :)

If you are not good in studies and you have taken science in 11th class, what will you do after 12th if you have interest in computer science?

If you really are interested in computer science, then obviously the field of CSE is what you are looking at.“Not good in studies” is something you tell yourself when you don’t get what you want. I suggest you start preparing for entrance exams from now, since your finding it a bit difficult to cope up with your subjects.Applying to a good college and for the branch of CSE requires a high score on the JEE mains. Even if you don’t get it, you can still pursue coding and learning computer science related subjects, as it will help you in your basic understanding of subjects that further relate to topics like Machine Learning or AI.Just try your level best to score the maximum that you can on the JEE. Irrespective of which engineering branch you get, you can still pursue computer science as a side. It will definitely help you in the long run.:)

If I want to become bank manager then which subject I should take after 10th?

It doesn't matter which stream you are gonna choose to become a bank employee. The banking exams questions pattern has been designed in such a way that they would check our hold on maths, reasoning, GK and English. I would recommend you to go for science if you are going take up IBPS exam because as long as you have edge over the concepts of maths, you don't face much difficulty while taking up the exam. Hold on English is also necessary. So, make sure that you improve that while persuing degree. There would also be calls for the other posts from banks which do not require you to pass the exam that they conduct but should hold concerned degree or diploma may be in banking and finance. All the bestThank you..

I had failed 12th standard science stream. Can I reappear for boards exam by taking commerce instead of science?

Changing stream is equivalent to repeating 2 years , since you have failed then definitely you would be having compartment exam in july. pass in it and appear for CBSE improvement exam where you can improve your marks. ----------------------------------------------------------------------Or you have another option instead of studying again for 2 years you can appear for NIOS exam - equivalent to CBSE (every college accepts it). Here you can choose whichever stream/subjects you want.
