I Have A 2 Year Contract - Can I Buy The Same Phone To Replacw My Current One

Does buying a new sim card renew your contract? (Verizon)?

I'm purchasing a droid bionic 4g phone off of eBay with no service to replace my old droid 2 3G phone. The catch or at least I see it as one is the bionic doesn't come with a sim card. Questions:
1. Will I be able to purchase a new 4g sim card, no questions asked and not renew my current contract?
2. Can I use my old 3G sim card in the droid bionic and still use the 4g capabilities?
Thanks in advance!

What happens if you get a phone on contract and you lose it?

Depends on the contract.  If your contract specifies you have to return the phone at the end of your contact, well you'll be forced to pay out-right for the phone, typically a pro-rated rate rather than full cost. If your contract says once the term is over the phone is yours, well you'll have to continue paying the agreed upon monthly fees until the contract comes to an end.  An alternative would be to pay the Early Termination Fees, which would then end the contract.  If your contract is over and you're now only paying monthly usage fees, well then end the month-to-month "contract" and go from there. If you want to keep the contract, AND the contract doesn't specify you have to return the phone at the end of the contract, you have a few options. Some carries have a refurbished section.  Look to purchase a new phone there and then have them replace your lost phone with your new phone. You can buy a replacement phone (new or used) and call your carrier and have them replace your existing (lost) phone with your new phone. Take note, you're buying out-right, ie without a contract, so you'll get no discounts and no pro-rated deals.  So you may be best to look for something used or on sale.

I received a new SIM card with a replacement phone thru Asurion. Should I send in my old SIM card with the damaged phone or do I keep it?

Typically, unless otherwise specified you should always keep your SIM card, and usually if your phone has a removable battery you keep that as well. The main reason is just so you don't need to transfer your account to the new SIM everytime you get a new phone.Even if you're switching to a phone with a different sized Sim you generally have to need to send the old one back mainly because the service provider has no use for your used SIM, and believe it or not, a majority of returns are just amassed into lots then sold off, which means your old sim card with potentially personal information could very well end up in the highest bidder's possession. The reason for the new SIM is mostly because they generally just pack replacements and new phones with a SIM card just because the cost is so little and it makes it alot easier to pack every phone with one rather than have a human individually read each invoice and put one in the packages of people who've lost their phone or have a damaged SIM, or have people tie up customer service lines requesting a new one because their lost phone's replacement didn't have one.

I don't like to replace my smart phone every year, what current generation smart phone will last me for the next 5-7 years?

I don't like to replace my smart phone every year,If you’ve been replacing your smartphone every year, you’ve been doing something seriously wrong. Most people replace them every 2–3 years and iPhone users every 3–4 years.what current generation smart phone will last me for the next 5-7 years?5–7 years is going to be a stretch. There are some problems right off the bat. For example, no battery is going to last that long and you’ll need to be prepared to replace the battery at least twice or probably every two years. Are you going to be prepared to drop $50-$100 on a new battery when your phone is 4 or 6 years old?Another consideration is software support. You’re going to want a flagship model, which means you’ll need to drop between $750-$1000 USD for now (cheaper phones won’t last that long) and also want to stay away from the majority of Android phones because they simply are not reliably updated. Are you going to be wanting to use the current Android OS for the next 5–7 years, with almost no security updates? So that takes Samsung and basically all Android phone makers out of the running simply on that alone. Google Pixel has promised support for 3 years[1] so you can at least expect to get 3 years of current Android updates if you go with the Pixel. Apple on the other hand has just extended software support for the iPhone to 6 years, up from their average of 5 years previously. In this area, they simply have no rivals. If you want to have anywhere close to current support, the iPhone is your only option. Getting a current generation, 2018 model will get you as close to your desire as you want. You’ll be able to get 6 years out of it no problem and it will continue to function, just not with the current OS, for probably a few years after that. If you want a product that will have good support and longevity, simply no one can rival Apple, period. However, if you want to go with Android for preferences, Pixel is basically the only Android phone that you can halfway count on support for, at least for 3 years. You’re not going to get anywhere near 5–7 years support though.Basically, your only option is Apple. No one else comes close to offering that kind of support.Footnotes[1] Google guarantees three years of Android software updates for the Pixel 2

What Does Without Contract Mean When Getting A Phone On Ebay?

It means that by buying the phone, you understand that the phone does not come with a contract. You will have to go to its carrier and get one. What you are buying is simply the phone device with no service. Hope I helped :)

I recently bought a bike from Walmart with a 2 year replacement plan. It keeps breaking. Am I able to go back and trade it in for a new one?

This is a long answer but will explain what to do and why your store won't help:

Did you read the terms of the repair/replacement plan? I have this sneaking suspicion that you didn't... but I did when Walmart started pushing them for bicycles. Don't feel insulted or embarrassed since MOST people don't do this important thing.

You need to contact the service plan provider, not Walmart. They will then make a decision whether to cover the problem. However, there is another issue within this one, and that is you will likely have to have the problem verified by a bike shop who will charge you money to do it, and this is not refundable.

Soooo, in this case you have a couple of options.

First, you can READ THE REPLACEMENT PLAN TERMS and follow them;

Second, you can wheel the bike back into Walmart, nicely ask for the manager, and tell them you want to return the bike because it is defective, If they refuse, politely ask them to IMMEDIATELY (while you are there) call the district manager, explain your problem to them in the presence of the manager and request a refund. They will USUALLY, at this point, refund your money, or

Third, go to a bike shop, have the bike repaired at your expense and ride it until it breaks again. The cost to do couple of repairs like this will exceed the original cost of the bike, so once you are tired of paying out-of-pocket for constant service that exceeds the original price of the bike consider buying a bike from a bike shop.

My shop does do warranty service of discount store bikes, strictly within the warranty terms, for a flat fee of $29 and then we provide free minor adjustments for the life of the bike as well. NO factory warranty includes labor charges. I can tell you that the large majority of discount store bike failures are not covered because the bike was either assembled poorly or was not used the way the bike was designed... by the way... it isn't the stores responsibility to insure the bike was assembled correctly- it is the owners.

Finally, you could sell the bike at a yard sale for $5 or so or just set it out for the recyclers.

My phone broke but my contract isn't over?

So my phone broke and I was going to get an iPhone. But my contract isn't over. It ends in July. Would that mean I would have to wait until July for a phone at all? I mean, why go to the store and the people give me a free, new one to replace my broken one and make NO MONEY when I can go and buy a totally new one that would make them more money, I mean yeah??? Thanks :)

How often do you get a new smartphone? How much do you typically spend?

First, I'd like to redirect your attention toAigis Nalian's answer to How many cell phones have you had?I've been buying my own phones since 2007 (that's when I started working, and getting a salary), and now that I look back, that's a lot of phones!!It's been a year and a week since I bought my current phone a Moto G5S Plus, and I feel no need to go out and buy another. There's always the temptation to, but I have around 3 phones lying around which have completely conked off, with no hope for repair including an iPhone 5 and two Samsung phones, and I'll have to get rid of them if I get another one. I'm too lazy, sentimental and attached to them to go about that. There are obvious monetary problems involved with spending close to a month's salary on an iPhone X, & I don't see myself needing any extra functionality at that price range. The max I'm willing to spend is ₹20,000/- (277 $) on a phone, and that too if I get a discounted rate, easy EMIs on a credit card, and flagship features, for a “premier” brand that's not Apple. I've had my fill of iOS for the near future.Leaves me with Sony, HTC and Motorola. Which have been 3 of my last 4 phones.A good camera, enough memory and the ability to download/stream stuff is functionality enough. I don't need a professional quality camera, or 128 GB memory. 64 GB will do just fine.I'd rather spend that money on a trip somewhere, which is what I'm doing this year.Next year I'll run out of such excuses and buy a new phone…

Over that past 2 years or so. how many cell phones, iphones, other cell phones have you gone through?

just the one. I've had a cell phone account for about 10 years and have only had 3 phones (1st for 5 years, 2nd for 4 years, current phone for a little over a year).

unfortunately, I've found that once the original battery dies, the replacement batteries never last as long and it's usually cheaper to get a new phone than it is to buy a replacement battery. I only get what I need and I go with the phone that is being offered for free.
