I Have A 4gb Ram Mac That Has Two 2gb Ram Cards If I Put A 4gb Of Ram In Will I Get 8gb

How much will it cost me if I increase 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM?

to increase from 4 gigs to 8 gigs, you need additional 4 gb*1 card or 2 gb*2 cardsIn the question you haven’t anything mentioned about Laptop RAM or Desktop Ram and which configuration of RAM (DDR1, DDR2, DDR3, DDR4)ddr2 costs around 1Kddr3 costs around 2kddr4 costs around 3.5K

I have 4GB RAM in my computer. Can I add another RAM of 8GB in the second slot? Will it perform smoothly?

Yes it will perform very smoothly. You’ll see difference in every bit of thingsComputer boot timeprogram start upplaying gamesetc,.But, you have to be careful. You have to buy a ram which has similarmemory typememory speedmodule widthmodule voltageInstalling two different memory sizes really dosent matter! Dont listen to others who say that you should install 4gb in one slot and another 4gb slot 2 (or) you have to install it as a single 8gb module.SIZE DIFFERENCES DOSE’NT MATTERBefore installing an additional 2gb ram by computer boot time was 30–40 sec but now

I have 2GB RAM in my computer. Can I add another RAM of 8GB in the second slot? Will it perform smoothly?

Modern motherboards are usually configured to take advantage of two identical RAM modules on their motherboards, and run in dual channel configuration. So, ideally, you should probably get another 2GB RAM module with the same frequency as your current RAM.However, in real world applications, there is no evidence of any substantial increase in performance. Most results have showed ~1–2% of performance difference, which is hardly anything. Most importantly, check your motherboard’s compatibility first! What modules does it take? A motherboard with DDR2 slots will not fit any other types of RAM sticks. Also, the maximum RAM frequency supported by your system also matters. Also, motherboards have a cap on the amount of RAM they can take. So make sure to check that, or your purchase is going to be in vain and your computer isn’t going to start. If your motherboard’s memory capacity caps at 4 Gigabytes, go for another identical RAM stick. If your motherboard’s memory capacity caps at 8 Gigabytes, buy an 8GB memory stick or two 4GB memory sticks, whichever is cheaper. Usually, it’s the single stick. And ditch/sell off your old 2GB stick. If your motherboard’s memory capacity caps at anything above 8 Gigabytes, feel free to add an 8GB memory stick to your system. You can eventually replace the 2GB stick if your computer is still usable then.Note that 8GB is quite sufficient for general PC users, and you can happily open several tabs in Chrome or Firefox without a hitch. Even for most games today, 8GB of RAM is sufficient.

What ram will fit alienware m15x r2 URGENT!?

I can't think of any game currently on the market that requires more than 4GB of RAM. It's nice to have the extra, especially if you're running other apps in the background, but it's really overkill at this point.

However, to answer your question, you'll need to replace the 2x2GB SODIMMs that are already in the m15x with 2x4GB SODIMMS (DDR3, either 1067MHz or 1333MHz).

Which would be better to use, two 4GB RAM or one 8GB RAM?

You should go with 2x4GB sticks in most cases instead of a single 8GB stick, as you will be able to take advantage of both memory channels to get the full bandwidth of your RAM. If it's for a general purpose pc, you are fine with one 8GB stick, and you may run into less compatibility issues of you buy off brand RAM. Having two 4GB stick is still preferable over one 8GB as down the road if one stick were to fail (very rare) you would still be able to use your computer in the meantime until you can replace a dead stick. Again, very rare outside of overclocking, but RAM can fail in other ways. Cheap power supply or crappy motherboard might zap your memory with too high of voltage, but in those cases both sticks would be at risk.

Can a 2GB and 4GB DDR-3 RAM be installed in the same computer/laptop? Will it work?

Yes it will. Hoping it is of the same manufacturer and same speed with timings(if they differ in speed, the mobo should auto set the speeds and volts accordingly else set it manually). As far as mixing size is concerned, the memory will work in what is called a "Flex Mode" - 2GB out of the 4GB and the present 2GB module which will run in Dual channel mode, while the remainder of the 4GB module (which is the other half of 4GB) will run in single channel mode. My laptop uses 2+4 setup. Same ram kits are always preferred.

MacBook pro Ram Upgrade 8GB or 10GB?

i have a 2010 mid macBook pro 13'
it as 2 x 2gb Rams
i need to upgrade ram

option 1 - should i buy 2x 4gb ram and throw existing ram away ? - total 8gb

How much RAM can you put in a HP G72 laptop?

I figured it was 8GB. I understand that the actual RAM will fit into the laptop no matter if it's 8GB or 16GB. But if I get 8GB of RAM to put in it, will it work or no? I know some are only expandable to a certain size. If you go any higher it wont work.

Slow computer; CPU or RAM?

I have a Macbook Pro from 2011.
The CPU is a 2.3 GHz i5 and it has 4GB of RAM. Lately it has been very slow, and I was going to upgrade the RAM, but I'm wondering if the problem could possibly be the CPU(which I can't change since it's built-in).

The RAM is mostly at around between 3.7GB - 3.9GB usage, and Virtual Memory is usually around 4.8GB. The CPU is only at around 10% total usage, which makes me think that the RAM is the problem here.
