I Have A Black Screen With A Mouse I Can Move But Clt Alt Del Does Not Work

Ctrl Alt Del doesn't work?

have you tried loading it in safe mode?

i havnt a clue what your trying to bypass with the task manager, but i usually do it through safe mode. F8 on startup, safe mode. log into the administrator account (if it's passworded your out of luck, reinstall windows in this case) and then go to control panel, users and reset it/delete users and passwords from there.

some operating systems are very difficult to bypass, and since it's from a buisness, your going to have a hard time bypassing anything.

Edit_

if you have a USB mouse/keyboard. try enableing it in the Bios. you cant access the safe mode menu with a USB keyboard if USB devices/USB mouse /USB keyboard are not enabled in the bios, you may even have trouble accessing it with that keyboard, if you have a p/s2 keyboard, you will have to plug that in and should be able to access the features.

Youtube Full Screen 'ESC' doesn't work!?!?

i'm amazed you managed to ask this question while you're stuck in youtube full screen mode

My laptop turns on but the screen is black. What do I do to fix it?

Other answers have jumped to a hardware fault. Perhaps not incorrectly, sure. But I'd first make sure we're not dealing with a software issue, or any other "have you tried turning it off and back on again?" sort of things.First, and foremost, does your laptop have a "Display Off" button? I have a Sony Vaio which has one of these. It's a flush bezel button near the clamshell hinge. I have absolutely no fucking clue why it's there. But it is. The only thing I can think of is it's a "privacy" button...for when you can't quite hit the (x) close button on the browser window when your spouse walks in on you ogling (.)'s.Since you didn't post a picture I will assume that you mean the screen is entirely black. No faint glow, no nothing? In other words, it doesn't look even remotely like this [note the blinking cursor]:Have you plugged anything new into your laptop recently? A new USB device? A new external drive? Do you have a docking station? If you have a docking station, does it behave differently if on or off of it?Have you verified that your battery is charged, and that even if not, your power supply is providing proper charging to the battery when it's plugged in? My laptop has a little lightning-bolt LED that indicates the power supply is properly plugged in. Sometimes those stupid connectors can become loose -- or worse, crimped [kids knocking the thing about, etc.] -- so that they don't make a proper connection. I can't tell you how many times I've sat down with my laptop that had been "plugged in" for hours only to hit the power button, see it appear to go through its start-up groans, only to have it fizzle-out and not work shortly after.Do you have a recovery disc for the OS you have installed? What happens if you turn the power on with that in the laptop?Do you have a USB memory stick? If so, there are a bunch of different things to try here Boot and run Linux from a USB flash memory stick, even booting DOS from it.

My computer shows a black screen and a loading cursor after startup. What is causing it and how do I fix it?

Let it be like that for 5 minutes, the computer will start up and if it does then the problem is Windows 10 automatic driver update. It happened to me due to which I had to Factory reset my PC. Windows 10 automatically installed Graphics updates which gave me error like this one.Follow the following guide to know if Windows 10 installed any driver update (in case it starts up) and block them:How to Uninstall and Block Updates and Drivers on Windows 10

Shattered screen on laptop?

Try to use System Restore to bring it back to a previously working state:

UPDATED:
I've seen this prank before, but never heard of it being self installed, which means it was a virus or Trojan Horse with this as its payload.

If it is a screensaver then moving your mouse our using the keyboard should take it away from it, but the payload could of disabled both those and set the screensaver to auto run from start up (unheard of, but possible). Just in case, check both connections for the mouse and keyboard.

Another possibility is that it's not a screensaver, but the desktop picture with your taskbar auto hidden and the desktop icons gone. You should be able to right click somewhere and change it back.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to get rid of the malware (virus).

On your working computer download Adaware (http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2007/30... ) and Spybot – Search and Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl... ). Save to a USB flash drive or CD.

Boot up the infected laptop in safe mode (http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml ) and run both scans and delete. If you can boot up in safe mode with networking, do that first and get the updates for both programs, then run the scan. Delete what you find.

In then end, you may have to download HijackThis (http://www.download.com/Trend-Micro-HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10227353.html ) in the same manner as above, run it in safe mode and email me the log and I can see what I can find to help.
