I Have A Boil Under My Arm And I Want To Know Why They Hurt So Much.

Does lancing a boil hurt?

Lancing a boil can hurt if no anesthetic is used. But it really just hurts for a moment, and it allows the boil to heal. The infection itself usually hurts more when you touch it. The blade is very sharp so they hardly have to use any pressure and the cut is very smooth. When the lancing is about to happen, look away, taking a long, deep inhaling breath.

When the fluid comes out, it can look either gross or fascinating, depending on your personality. SO if you're easily grossed out, don't look till it's cleaned up.

Huge zit or boil under the armpit?

Im a 15 year old girl.
Ok, so I have a big zit boil under the armpit (hence the question). I know its either a zit or boil because Its has had a head grow on it twice but refuses to pop and hurts like hell. I shave and I DO TAKE SHOWERS LIKE TWO OR THREE TIMES A DAY. I am a very clean person so I dont know how I got it.

Anyways does anyone know how to help with the pain or something?

NO SAYING, EWWW, OR TAKE A SHOWER, OR YOU CANT GET ZITS UNDER YOUR ARMPITS. Because yes you damn can.

Thank you to people who take this seriously. :)

I have a giant boil under my armpit and it hurts. What should I do?

Apply a warm compress for 5-10 minutes at a time and make an appointment to see your doctor immediately. Generally, boils like this can be due to an infection in the sweat glands or the lymph nodes (tiny little nodes deep in your body that help fight infections) of the armpit and may need to be surgically drained or removed. There are other causes, but with the information here, I can't speculate. You may need to be put on a course of antibiotics as well. Plus the doctor will be able to prescribe the appropriate pain medication for the situation. So get to a doctor and get examined ASAP. That's what I would do... :-)I hope this helps, take care.

What should I do if my armpit hurts after a flu shot?

TL;DR: I’m not a doctor. If it’s only been a few days after the vaccination and you can control the pain with aspirin or ibuprofen you’re probably fine. If it lasts longer, go see your doctor, just to be sure.I am not a physician so please take my assessment of the situation with caution until someone with an MD as verified it. I’d like to think that I know why you might be feeling discomfort in your armpits, however. There are lymph nodes all over your body, you’ll usually not notice them when your healthy but when your body is fighting an infection they can swell up and become noticeable. You might have noticed some swelling below your lower jaw when you have a cold. That is because your immune system is becoming activated, cells divide and differentiate to fight an infection, and because the site of the infection, your nose and throat, is close to those lymph nodes. There are lymph nodes in your arm pit as well, which are very close to the injection site. The vaccine is meant to prime an immune response so it makes sense that the draining lymph nodes swell up, as your immune system goes to work. Your arm presses against the lymph nodes as they hang down against your chest, so it would make sense that you could feel some pain after the vaccination. This is seemingly not very uncommon, together with redness and swelling at the injection site, even feeling a bit like having caught a cold. All this happens because the flu vaccine does its job, which is to prime your immune response. If your symptoms last longer than a few days or you’re developing an allergic response, go see your doctor immediately. I suspect you’ll be fine though.Do let us know in the comments when you got the shot and if you have any other symptoms. Get well soon!

How to get rid of a Boil under my armpit PLEASE HELP!?!?!?!?

Mom was right, but theres a much better way. Her idea, the heat, was right on, but you need to actually have a "warm compress" applied, as often as possible. This will bring the boil to "a head" which is icky, but basically boils are HUGE pimples, and you need to get all that puss to the top in order to deal with it/drain it/make it go away. Remember also, this is considered an "infection" in your body, so youre body is working to get rid of it as well, from the inside out (in fact, puss is dead white blood cells that surround an infection, in order to chip away at it, heal it, and then they die off, and you get puss - which youll find in almost ANY infection/cut/etc). In the name of healing from the inside out, you could def. benefit from an antibiotic and any GP would be happy to prescribe one to you, as well as monitor your progress in case it needs to be professionally and clinically drained (lanced, drained, stuffed with sterile gauze, repeated a few times as necessary, and eventually it will heal from the inside out). The problems you may face are these - number one, boils are extremely painful and tender, once you've had one in a place, you are always susceptible to getting another one in that same place, and lastly, if you are able to "drain" it yourself (which is seriously painful, and disgusting to boot - but at least no one else has to see it, so there is ONE advantage...), it could close up on the outside before actually completing its healing, thus it will just fill back up again - and youll be right back where you started...only...youll be feeling already a lil "beat up" from the first go at it.

Good Luck Hun - boils suck, and it seems like some people are just predisposed to them. My sister in law is one of them, she gets one in her armpit or groin area at least 3 times a year - and Im telling ya, these things are NO JOKE, they will look like golf balls under her skin. And the pain, as she tells it, is unbelievable. Im sorry!!!

I have boils under my arms, and in between my thighs?

Here are some home remedies that will work
<> These are likely caused bcos of Heat or infection when you DONT clean those parts so - bath daily
<> keep that area dry- obese ppl have a LOT of these . Use talc powder - you can get it a a dollar store ( bad quality cheap one ) , walmart or a local ethnic asian store ( Indian stores have them )
<> Get a NEOSPORIN OINTMENT or ANY other similar ANTI bacterial antibiotic LOCALLY applicable.
- contents with Neosporin, Roxithromycin, Erythromycin , Framcityin ( spelling maybe off a bit ) or Clindamycin
<> KEEP DRY
<>NEVER EVER PUNCTURE THEM - they will get infected - you will have a PUS OOZING out of those areas.
Keep cool- they will go .
BATH DAILY + DRY AREA + LOCAL ANTIOBIOTIC
most are staphylococcus infections

Small lump under armpit. hurts.?

It might be an abscess. Thanks to rampant antibiotic use, we now have a nasty strain of antibiotic resistant bacteria called MRSA which can live in the nasal passages and is causing recurring abscesses in many, many people.

What happens is, the bacteria infects a fat gland in your armpit and as the normal immune system process attacks the infection, you end up with a small capsule of dead bacteria and white blood cells, etc.

If it gets bigger and a little more painful, you can either have it cut open and drained (painful - I've had it done twice), or you can wait it out. The thing is, and my doctor never told me this: if your body is harboring the bacteria that causes this, you will most likely get infected again at some point.

Doctors will not prescribe an antibiotic for this kind of infection because they know it won't help. Any that will are wholly irresponsible.

I actually have an abscess, my 4th, in my armpit right now which I'm taking herbs for. I also researched how to "decolonize" myself of the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria that is causing the abscesses which I'll be doing soon.

Has anyone gotten a lump under thier armpit or know what Im talking about? please help?

So I've been tracking the duration of this lumps stay under my right armpit it has been here for a month and it hurts (very sore). The bump is internal in my armpit and you cannot see it at the surface when you push on it it hurts and feels like a ball of muscle or something. This HAS happened before but went away within a week or so.. but this time it decided to stay. I'm kind of freaked out by it because it won't go away I plan on going to the doctor soon because I read if it doesn't leave within a month you should get it checked out. But I would like to know if any of you have had this or know what I'm talking about and what did it end up being? I can't find many answers.

Can I be put under for lancing a boil?

They can't put you to sleep for this, but thats OK because you can handle it, I promise! They will numb the area up really well first with a spray and then with lidocaine.  They don't really use a needle to lance it, they just use a small tool.  You don't have to look and it shouldn't hurt at all once your numb.  Try not to stress out or worry too much, it sounds scary but it's very quick and easy.  Just don't look and it will be over before you know it!!
