I Have A Element Tv And I Only Have One Chanel

My full hd 1080P element tv is stuck on 480i, how do i change it?

Your TV has a 1080p display screen and it does not change. What changes is your input signal. When you see a little message on screen saying "480i" (or anything else), it's telling you the resolution of whatever you have connected to the TV. In this case, it's most likely a standard-def TV channel.

If you *are* using a cable or satellite receiver, you need to get into its menu and set its output resolution to 1080i (which is the maximum for TV channels). Also, it needs to be an HD receiver, if it isn't already.

You only get true 1080p from a Blu-ray player or from certain game consoles.

My channels are still flickering with an antenna?

A HDTV wants so much signal from an antenna. If it gets it you get a good picture, marginal signal -freeze up's, Low signal-NO picture.
You are in the marginal range, you need a better antenna.

You need a multi-element higher gain antenna. Check the gain on the antenna you now have and and buy one with a higher gain.

Make sure you get a UHF antenna if all the channels are above 13 or a VHF antenna if you only have channels 2 to 13 or a UHF/UHF antenna if you have channels above and below 13.

Got an Element TV, and I can't hook it up to my Xbox?

What you can do is pick yourself up a all purpose remote look up your tv's make/model and program it for your tv.Then you should be able to access all the different tv functions etc.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way RCA makes some not bad all purpose remotes, try to stay away from the dollar store remotes their buttons act up etc but one of those might work for the time being. If you give me the tv model number I'll try to find you a manual for it or look on the manufactures site bec usually they have free downloads. Also ebay and other sites may have a original remote for that tv.

TV can't find any channels?

I purchased a 24 inch Element ELEFJ243 LED TV about 3 months ago. It worked fine with regular cable but my university just switched to HD programming and now my TV cannot find any channels. I've tried auto-scanning multiple times, restoring the TV to default, auto-scanning in another persons room and I can't get it to find any channels. I don't know what else to attempt to get this to work.

How do I fix a TV that keeps changing channels by itself?

Exorcism.

How do I stop my tv from speaking spanish on certain channels?

"Speaking Spanish", I assume you mean audio. I am also assuming the set is analog because you said it was 5 or 6 years old.

You probably have SAP or AUTO SAP turned on. SAP is Second Audio Program and is used for second languages (like Spanish) or discreptive audio for the sight impared. If SAP is turned on, the set will use the second audio program when present. Lifetime and TNT are probably sending SAP and the other channels are not.

The setting should be on the menus. Make sure SAP is turned off so you listen to the main audio channel.

I hope this helps. Please return and select a Best Answer from all of those submitted.

Does my tv need an antenna (ten points)?

Indeed you do need an antenna. Let me give you a couple tips that should help...

The less gadgets on the antenna, the better. One gadget to pass over is an amplified antenna. If you need a stronger antenna - go with some form of outdoor antenna vs. an amplified one. There are small outdoor antennas (see below).

The digital signals are typically UHF, and as such, the "rabbit ears" aren't as important as the "loop" shaped antenna that comes with the antennas. I've had excellent luck with the cheapest antennas (and left the extendable antennas off), however I am near the TV towers enough that I am lucky. If you need to use the "whip" antennas, don't automatcally pull them all the way up. Try just a foot high. The lower the channel, the higher the antenna... and most areas use the higher channels of 14 and up.

Some antennas do have a mysterious knob on them. Don't laugh - that knob does make a slight difference! It's function is to select various combinations of the loop antenna and the two "rabbit ears". Actually does make a difference when you need to run those antennas up to get a decent signal.

When possible, place the antenna near a window. That will make a world of difference.

If you are in a weak signal area, there are some antennas that go outside the window (and have a thin cable to allow closure) that work well. If you are in the suburbs, place the antenna toward the city.

Lastly, don't pay any attention to the "HIGH DEFINITION" or "DIGITAL TV" hype - a plain old antenna will work.

Is it possible to use a smartphone to control my non-smart television?

Perhaps a little too late but yes now you can. Not just your TV but also your DTH Set Top Box and in a much smarter way. To do that, you need to have a device that sends IR commands to your TV or Set Top Box (or other IR based devices).Option 1 (ONLY for Android smartphones WITH IR blaster) : Download Peel app for Android. You can not only control your TV and other devices, you can also view what shows and movies are coming on your Set Top Box and change channels without touching your remote. This option not only drains your battery within a matter of minutes, but is also not the most seamless experience you could expect. You have to point your phone exactly towards the device just like a remote. With remote it makes sense - physical buttons let you feel the press and give you a feedback while you look at the TV. With a mobile, you can either look at the TV and end up tapping wrongly on the screen because of lack of feedback, or you can look at the screen, which goes contrary to user behavior. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should. You’ll absolutely hate the experience.Option 2 (For ALL Android Smartphones and iPhone) : You will need to have a device that can act as an IR bridge that takes remote commands from your mobile over Bluetooth (BLE) or WiFi and converts them into IR signals for your TV/DTH. One such option in the market is a device called Bubble Uno we have built at Bubble Technologies. Buy Bubble Uno from Amazon and start controlling your TV and DTH from your mobile. If you are a regular TV watcher, then you will find it particularly useful that you don’t have to use your remote to navigate through all the categories and channels using the remote. Just a few swipes on your app and you can browse through all the TV shows and movies coming now, coming later. You can read synopsis of the shows, see it’s ratings and just change channel directly from your mobile with one tap.If you love watching TV and feel that in 21st century, remotes do not do justice to content lovers, and surely there must be a better way, you should know that yes there is a better way. You can check out the demo here.

Why does my tv say 480p with my cable box when my tv is 1080p and i have an hd cable box?

The resolution is set by the video, the TV is reporting what it is getting.

Your TV is capable of displaying 1080p, however that's not what the cable box is supplying on HDMI1. Check with your cable company to see if there is a menu selection to change the output resolution on the HDMI port.
