I Have A Engine How Much Is It To Put It In

Can I put a V6 engine into a 4-cylinder car?

If the car was originally delivered with both types of engines, it might not even be very hard. There are some special considerations though. The first generation of Saab 9–5 was delivered with three choices of engine (I’m leaving out the diesel engines, they shouldn’t be in cars anyway), a 2.0t I4, a 2.3t I4, and a 3.0t V6. The 3.0t was only delivered with an automatic transmission, while the smaller engines were delivered with both types. Converting a 9–5 2.0 manual to a 3.0 automatic is probably going to be more work than converting a 2.0 automatic to 3.0 automatic. Then, on the other hand, you might achieve your goals in much easier ways than complete engine swaps, depending on what those goals are. As original, the 2.0t has 150 hp and 240 Nm, while the 3.0t has 200 hp and 310 Nm. If the goal is to increase power and torque, a simple software upgrade to the 2.0t will give you 210 hp and 320 Nm, meaning you get more power and torque than the 3.0t, while retaining the better fuel economy of the 2.0t. Of course, the 3.0t could also be software upgraded, but it is a very strange engine that is very hard to get much extra power from, so you’ll probably increase the power only from 200 to 220 hp. If you want more power than a simple software upgrade will give the 2.0t, changing to a bigger turbo and more open exhaust can make that little engine yield much more power than the weird 3.0t could ever hope for. Strangely, the 2.3t was sold completely original in a version with 260 hp and 350 Nm, noticeably more than the original 3.0t, so the Saab 9–5 was faster with the strongest type of original 4-cylinder engine than it was with the V6.However, if your goal is smoothness rather than outright power, the V6 would probably win every time.

How much does it cost to put a new engine in my car...?

Anywhere from $1200 to $1600 for a used one to $4000 for a Jasper. That car probably has a lot of stuff ready to replace. It's a little old to start pouring that kind of money into it. You could get a 2003 for less than you'll spend trying to get that thing in shape.

How much will it cost to put a 454 big block engine in a 81 chevy c10?

As you can buy a big block from next to nothing is ome junkyards to $4000 from performance rebuilders on up to $13,000 from GM as a new engine and on up to whatever you can spend you will have to decide on that yourself. As for installation, the engine will fit using your stock mounts and everything else in your truck except for the exhaust system. You can spend mostly whatever you want on an exhaust system but I would say $450 for a quality set of headers and $800 for a quality stainless exhaust. So about $1250 there. Of course there are numerous things that could be upgraded if you have the money or if you don't you can use what you now have with some personal modification. The front suspension of a truck will be o.k. if it is in good shape but of course you could invest in some heavier duty components at whatever cost you can afford. Some choices will affect others. For instance, should you be able to afford and choose to install a completely aluminum big block then the need for heavier front springs will be obviated. But for a ball park wild guess using what are probable funding norms the cost should be around $800 if you do not include the engine cost.

How much does a new boat engine cost?

You really need to tell us what kind of engine is in there now, as there are many different possibilities.

What you would want is a "new" factory rebuilt engine, not a totally brand new engine. These are completely rebuilt, and are basically a new engine at a lower cost, and come with a warranty. For a car-type engine, such as a GM 350, you're looking at about $2,500 for the engine, plus the cost to intall it, and have the old one taken out, $800-$1000, roughly. I think you mean inboard engine, when you said inline, although there are inline engines, but not too common in boats.
Make sure if you do this that you are gettin a Marine engine, not a standard car or truck engine. They are built to higher standards to keep up with the stress they are put under, and other parts, like power steering, alternator, water pump, all need to be marine too to last longer.

How much horsepower will a 1350cc engine put out?

TORQUE is a measurement of the engine's ability to do work.

HORSEPOWER is the rate at which that engine can do that work.

So let's compare that 1600cc Harley and the R1 Sportbike.

The 2007 R1 makes about 160HP and delivers 75 ft/lb of torque.

A stock 80cu/in HD engine makes about 60HP and delivers about 75 ft/lb of torque.

See? Both engines are capable of delivering a similar amount of torque, so the Harley engine, at 60HP, still delivers a lot of power, it just can't do it for as long as the R1 engine can.

Sportbike engines have to rev up high to start really delivering a lot of their power, whereas the Cruiser engines can deliver their best power while still revving quite slowly. For example, at 5000RPM, the cruiser engine will be giving you it's all, 60HP. But at that same 5000RPM, the sportbike engine is only delivering - 60HP. The reason the cruiser engine never delivers the kind of HP the sportbike does, is because it can't rev as high. That almost makes a "power cruiser" (a BIG TORQUE engine) more difficult for a beginner than a sport bike. A big cruiser can give you almost ALL of it's power at 2500RPM with an accidental twitch of the throttle, but you deliberately have to rev the sport engine to like, 8000RPM and above to turn it into a rocketship.

Why are sportbikes so darn fast, if the torque is the same? Know how hard your Harley can pull in first gear? REALLY hard, right? As soon as you shift into second and third, etc, the bike can't pull as hard because of the higher gearing, though, right? Well, because the R1 engine revs to like 13,000RPM or something, it gets to pull that hard all the way up to 160KMH before it has to change out of the super-low first gear! (Yup, 100MPH in FIRST gear.) That's why sportbikes are so fast.

Here's a very informative website for you and if you scroll down, you will find a 3 part chart (beginner/interm/advanced bikes) with cc vs horsepower. I would suggest that you read through most of the article because it explains this subject

Which is worse for the engine, putting diesel in a "petrol car" or petrol in a "diesel car"?

Its definitely a lot worse for the diesel engine. First of all, you can't fill a petrol car with diesel by mistake. Diesel nozzles are bigger than the filler neck on petrol cars. Also, there is a plate under the neck to prevent any intrusion but the small petrol nozzle, which was designed to prevent drivers from putting leaded(big nozzle too) petrol in the first place. If you happen to do that somehow, you wont damage the  engine even if you try to start it. Diesel is heavier than the gasoline, and much more "oily". It needs pressure to be ignited and does not evaporate as gasoline do. What happens after putting diesel on a tank is, diesel sank and injectors feed the engine a load of diesel. When you try to ignite the engine, spark plugs won't be able to fire the diesel and the engine won't start. To fix the issue, draining the tank and filling it again with gasoline ,cleaning the injectors and finally cranking the engine to throw up the unwanted diesel would suffice. Some may want to change the fuel filter to be on the safe side but it is not a must. The other way around, putting petrol on a diesel engine, is much more complicated. A diesel car can be filled with petrol rather easily, as the filler neck allows all nozzle kinds smaller than the diesel nozzle inside (which is basically every nozzle available). Modern diesel engines operate at very high pressures and within very fine tolerances. Also the fuel act as a lubricant for the engine and the injection system. When petrol meets the diesel engine, it acts as a thinner, causing the fuel to lose its lubrication properties and cause the engine and fuel pump to wear down through friction. If it comes this far, whole fuel system needs to be flushed and if there are any damaged components, they need to be changed. (Probably a few)If things go a little far, by trying to start the engine (may start) and try to drive; additional damage may happen by pre detonation. As petrol is much more volatile than the diesel, and diesel needs high pressure to be combusted, with so much pressure and air, petrol prematurely combusted and forcing pistons to rise and go back down out of their order. This kind of force may prove disastrous for many internal components in the engine block. If you happen to fill your car the wrong fuel by any chance, Do not turn on the ignition key - many modern cars circulate the fuel into the fuel system as soon as the battery turned on.
