I Have A Fever Trouble Swallowing And My Nodes Hurt

Swollen Lymph Nodes and Throat hurts to swallow.?

It's probably a virus, especially given the sore throat. Have someone look into your throat with a flashlight. If there are no white spots and it's just red, you probably do NOT have Strep. If you have a fever, and it's mild, then you mostl likely have the common cold.

So, drink lots of fluids, take some vitamin C & Echinacea and rest. If it doesn't clear up in a week, OR if your fever suddenly "spikes" (rises quickly), THEN see your doctor because it might be Strep., or something worse.

If you ever get swollen lympth nodes with no OTHER symptoms, it could be serious, so yes, see your doctor.

My throat is severely swollen and my ears hurt, I have trouble swallowing and breathing. What is this?

You need to see a doctor ASAP. It sounds like your glands are extremely swollen. This can result from anything from strep throat to an ear infection, to a tooth abscess. It's gotten to the point now where it's not even distinguishable to you where it started. I recently lost a friend to of all things, a tooth abscess. I've gone through this too, but got help in time (barely), but he didn't. He was 30. Please tell your parents that it's time to see a doctor. Even if I'm wrong, it's so much better to be safe than sorry.

What causes pain in the left side of the neck when swallowing?

Many things can be responsible. If the pain on swallowing started suddenly, it usually is a swollen lymph node due to a common cold virus. On the other hand, strep throat and other more serious “sore throats” can be lurking. Other much less common causes can be a soft tissue abscess, periodontal infection, or just about any infection involving the oral cavity. Of course, a throat cancer or a lymphoma may be responsible. Do you have any other symptoms, like fever, stiff neck, fatigue, lack of appetite, difficulty swallowing solid food?My best advice is to see if either other symptoms appear in a few days, or if it doesn’t clear, consult your provider.

Fever, ringing ears, swollen glands, and sore throat?

Okay, you should not go on whatever people here say (including myself,) you should see your doctor. However, if he and all other doctors are truly unavailable, I can tell you what I would do:

101-102 is not a high fever by any means, it generally indicates the presence of an infection.
A sore throat is usually caused by some sort of irritation or problem in the throat.
Inflamed lymph nodes only increases the diagnosis of infection as your lymphatic system is trying to rid the infected particles from your body.
Ringing in your ears could mean that the infection has spread from your throat into your ears (there is a tube that connects the two directly)
Having blood mixed with mucus is not uncommon as violent coughing or sneezing is hard on your windpipe and can cause them to bleed slightly. (keep in mind that blood appearing almost black in colour could indicate a more serious problem in the lungs)

If you have a healthy body and are able to continue eating small amounts of food high in vitamins and other necessary nutrients then your body should be able to fight off a common cold (as it seems to be.) However, if you are in a worsening situation, or are not able to eat well, or have had this problem ongoing for an extended period of time (say, more than 4 days) then there is a possibility that you could have a resistant strain of a common virus, or another of a huge list of infections that you might not be able to fight on your own.

As mentioned above, don't listen to me, I am not a doctor (yet)

(edit) now seeing your additional details of having had pneumonia before I would have to change my diagnosis a bit, After having had pneumonia your lungs are normally left in a weakened state (especially for the next few years) and having a upper-airway (throat) infection could easily spread to your bronchi (if it already hasn't) and then to your lungs. I would suggest seeing a doctor about this regardless of how you feel, as it is a good idea to let them do a small (5 min) checkup on you just to make sure that if you are getting pneumonia again, they can catch it early.

Forth day I have strep throat, fever gone-am on penicillin-can't swallow any food, what can help relief pain?

The infection with strep bacteria causes symptoms within 1-3 days. You may develop a red throat with white patches. The tonsils are red and enlarged. There may be specks of pus present on the tonsils, or there may be a grey or white covering on the tonsils. With strep throat, people may also have trouble swallowing and may have tender, swollen lymph glands on the sides of the neck.

Common signs and symptoms of penicillin allergy include:

Rash
Hives
Itchy eyes
Swollen lips, tongue or face (angioedema)
Tell your doctor if you notice any of the signs or symptoms of penicillin allergy. He or she can determine if you're having an allergic reaction and may prescribe an alternative medication

Why do my neck lymph nodes hurt so bad for no reason even when I don’t swallow and it feels like someone is pressing their finger against my trachea?

Many details are needed to get anything like an intelligent answer. How long has this gone on? What other nodes, what other symptoms do you have? Do you have fever? You need to so see a doctor, there is no other way to evaluate this problem. It could be nothing but a cold, it could be cancer, it could be HIV . . . There are dozens of life threatening disasters (depending on where you live) or it could be nothing.

What causes a swollen lymph node in the neck?

Swollen lymph nodes can be caused by:Viruses: Including herpes, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), a common cold, adenovirus measles, chickenpox, and infectious mononucleosis (mono).Bacteria: Including staphylococcus, streptococcus, cat scratch disease, syphilis, chlamydia, tuberculosis, and other sexually transmitted diseases.Fungal diseases: Including histoplasmosis and coccidioidomycosis.Parasites: Parasites linked with swollen lymph nodes include leishmaniasis and toxoplasmosis.Inflammatory causes: Inflammatory causes of swollen lymph nodes include lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and sensitivity to certain medications.Cancer: Cancers linked with swollen lymph nodes include lung cancer, lymphomas and leukemia.Lymphoma and leukemia: Chronic or acute lymphocytic leukemia derives from cancerous cells in the bone marrow. Lymphomas, on the other hand, will develop in the lymph nodes or other lymphatic tissue within the body. Both cancer types will cause swollen lymph nodes, including nodes in the neck. That being said, the swelling with lymphoma and leukemia is often painless. These types of nodes can also be classified as hard and firm rather than a consistency that is normal and rubbery.Tonsillitis: Tonsillitis, or tonsil inflammation, is another infection that leads to swollen lymph nodes in the neck. This is due to the tonsils being a key part of the immune system. Various bacteria and viruses can cause tonsillitis, which include Streptococcus pyogenes, herpes simplex virus, Epstein-Barr virus, cytomegalovirus, and adenovirus. Other common symptoms of tonsillitis include enlarged tonsils, a raspy voice, a fever, painful swallowing, and foul-smelling breath.Throat infection: A throat infection, or pharyngitis, is another cause of swollen lymph nodes in the neck. Mildly tender or painless swollen lymph nodes are common with viral pharyngitis. Most bacterial throat infections are often due to a type of pharyngitis called strep throat—caused by group A Streptococcus bacteria. Symptoms typical of a strep throat include swollen and tender lymph nodes in the neck, a sore throat, difficulty swallowing, appetite loss, headache, chills, and a fever. Other causes of swollen lymph nodes in the neck include transplant graft rejections, sarcoidosis, and genetic lipid storage diseases. For more details about treat and causes, see the article Treatment of the swollen lymph nodes in the neck
