I Have A Filling In My Front Teeth

How can I fix a gap in my two front teeth?

Hi ,Before I suggest you the available treatment options, let me explain to you why the gaps exist in the first place as they would have immense impact on the outcome of your treatment.Gaps between teeth could be becauseRetained Deciduous (milk) teethSmall sized teethHigh labial attachment (tissue between teeth )Thumb SuckingTongue thrustingNow, depending on the cause, the treatments options would vary/change.Small gap - Anterior composite fillings - Cheap and easy to do. Don't last too long as there is lack of retention.Medium sized gap -Braces - Options of Metal, Ceramic or the most expensive Clear braces. Long standing treatment but if done well, the results are outstanding and long term.Crowns - Caps put on teeth to mimic adjacent teeth. Affordable and works well too. Needs replacement after couple of years.Veneers - Work well and are expensive. Unlike crowns, they do to cover the whole tooth, just the labial (front) portions. Mimic natural teeth in looks however need constant care and replacement if they come off. Celebs mostly opt for these.Large sized gap - Orthodontic treatment (Braces)In case the gap is because of labial attachment, it requires a small procedure to remove the gum attachment. This needs to be done even before starting the braces as it is a major factor for relapse.Hope this helps. Keep smiling though !!!

Can I get my teeth whitened if I have fillings?

Yes you can, but just keep in mind that white fillings or crowns never change color with the bleach. If you have white fillings on your front teeth, they wont change. So when the whitening is done, they are going to stand out. But the fillings can then be replaced by your dentist in a color to math the newly whitened teeth— and shazam! You natch!Talk to your dental hygienist about your options. Oh- and if you want to try it out inexpensively, get the white strips from the store. They DO work, just not as well and its a fairly cheap way to decide if you want to go all the way with it. You may find that they are plenty, and that you dont need an expensive in-office whitening procedure. If you decide to try that, and you suddenly see a dramatic change you dont like, you can easily just stop. The whiteming isn't permanent, and it will eventually go back to the color it was.Have fun!

Can veneers be put on front teeth if they have fillings in them?

Yes, but if the fillings are very large the best restorations for you may be crowns, it would be for the dentist to decide. All porcelain crowns are almost as attractive as vaneers.

Filling in between two front teeth fell out????

Ugh, I just went to the dentist YESTERDAY, and had a filling (composite I believe...they matched the color and put a light to my filling to dry it I guess??). The filling was in the back of my two front teeth (between them). I did not need any anaesthetic for the filling.

Ok...so he had to drill the filling down a bit because it felt really big and bulky to me, not natural at all. I kept trying to tell him that it almost felt like it was going to fall out...I could feel the edges with my tongue. He and the hygenist assured me that it would NOT fall out.

Yea well now, less than 48 hours later, I believe part of it (if not all of it) has fallen out. I can now feel and see a small dent in the back of my two front teeth (between them).

sigh

When I go back, are they going to have to drill again for decay or since I just had that done, will they just put in more filling material?

Since I didnt need any anaesthetic before for the original filling...then I shouldnt need it now, right? I really dont want a shot in my hard palate...He told me that my cavity was really really small.

It just irritates me that it fell out, and they wouldnt listen. Does this normally happen with fillings between the two front teeth? I have a few other filling (the silver ones) in the back molars, and never have had any problems with those.

I have a small gap between my front two teeth. Can it be filled/closed? How much does it cost in India and how much time does it usually take?

Spacing between teeth is called a diastema.Mostly seen between the central incisors, when it is termed midline diastema:Treatment options are:1. Orthodontic treatment: using removable and fixed appliances.2. Composite resin restoration.Pics courtesy google.comCheers..

I had gap in front teeth and filled it with dental cement. Can the filling be removed to put braces?

If the gap was present and the filling was done only to fill that gap and not that there were any caries, then yes you can go for orthodontic treatment. The gap is called midline diastema. But you must know that relapse/ recurrence of it is very common. So decide accordingly.

Cavity between front teeth, will a filling be visible? Does it depend on how good the dentist is? I'm scared!?

my sister has fillings in her front teeth

the first time she got them done, the colour was different and it looked like she had tartar on her teeth. This was at a public health dentist

Then she got them changed and the dentist matched the filling with her teeth colour and now it's not noticeable.

And you may pay extra for a better dentist but it will be worth it

Teeth filling and cleaning, but the dentist only cleaned my front tooth, is this how usually is done?

I went to the clinic for cleaning, and filling for one tooth, but the dentist only cleaned my front teeth while I still have plaques on my other teeth. Is this how usually is done? Before I went inside and sat, I told the frontliner I need to get my teeth cleaned and for filling..

Will teeth whitening strips work on white fillings in front teeth?

The whitening strips DO NOT work on white fillings. The components of the fillings are different from those of the natural tooth. If you want to have whiter teeth you should go to a proffesionist , and anyway if you'll decide to make them whiter the doctor will have to substitute the fillings in order to match your teeth's new color. WHITENING STRIPS ARE INEFFECTIVE ON FILLINGS, as any other whitening method. Good luck

Why does my filling feel rough?

Is it a temporary filling? Temps do feel rough because they are made out of different materials than final fillings.

Your tongue has the tendency to magnify things in your mouth, making them seem much worse than they are. Could be you just haven't gotten used to it yet.
