How can I play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 without an internet connection?

Hi everyone, for my birthday recently, my friends bought me the new Call of Duty game, Modern Warfare 2.
I have a bit of a dilemma, as I have two computers.
My personal computer is set up for games, and is able to play this new game, but my computer that is connected to the internet is not.
I have my own unique key code, but have not tried to install the game yet, as apparently you need to run Steam to install and play the game.

I was wondering if there was a way to activate the game once (I could connect the computer to the internet temporarily) then play offline?
Does Steam offer this option, or am I going to have to return the game / upgrade my online system?

Call of duty waw / 5 connection interrupted pc?

This happens when other players with high pings 150+ are in the same game with you. The more high pingers the slower everyone's connection gets. When you are in the game ask the Admin to kick the high pings.

However, it may be a local problem. Try shutting down your router/modem for a minute and bring it back up. You can also disable your antivirus or exclude the folder you installed your game in from scanning.

If this helps please vote for my answer.

Why do so many Call of Duty players not understand lag, and how do online games work? It is more prevalent in this gaming community than any other? Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Call of Duty is made up of casuals. Some understand lag and lag compensation, but the problem is, the majority of the casuals don’t understand latency. It’s also important to understand that hacking, glitching, lagswitching are still as prevalent today than ever. Why did I bring this up? Because all of this mars a lot of the lag issues. So, you end up thinking that either the servers suck, the distance between you and these players are making lag a big problem, or the other person is lagswitching. You have a good cable connection in order to play the games, yet it lags. Moreover…Activision claims that the current Call of Duty servers for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and WWII are dedicated servers - but lag still exists - mostly because it’s not really dedicated server(s). It’s just a marketing speech on the part of Activision. Players get mad, frustrated, and downright infuriated. People think “You’d think a multi-billion-dollar corporation like Activision would have better servers!” What they don’t realise or understand is that the franchise is so big, they have to order servers ahead of time. And to keep costs down, they rent servers that have low specs. So, someone lagswitching in the server is not helping matters. They do it because they want to win. (Players see that person as a loser. True before, true today.)Other players are puzzled by these issues that it becomes increasingly confusing to tell which is which. Activision needs better servers in order to have better latency or better connections. But they won’t get better servers, because they spend so much money on marketing, that they need to cut back somewhere - this being servers. What they don’t realize, though, is that every time a new game releases, and you’re hosting cheap server - that builds up the perception of the game for everyone else.

Why is Guitar Hero: World Tour for PC so laggy?

I bought GH:WT for PC today, and I have the system requirements, so why would the game be so laggy? While I'm in the menu, it works smooth, or in the practice mode, everything's ok. But when I start a Quickplay or a Career it lags and delays and freaks me out.

Here is a little something about my system:

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4CPU 3.20 GHz; 1GB of RAM; GeForce 7900

Is a GeForce 9800 GT graphics card sufficient for playing CoD: WaW?

I recently bought Call of Duty: World at War and experienced extreme lag with my 7100 (yes, I know it is an outdated graphics card), so I decided to get an upgrade. I found that the 9800 GT was within a good price range, so I am wondering if it will be sufficient for playing World at War. Thanks in advance.
