I Have A Groin Strain But I Cant Walk And The Doctors Wont Give Me Crutches

How long should soreness last after physical therapy?

I had knee surgery in January. Just began to full weight bear with no crutches last week. I'm in a hinged leg brace. I have been in physical therapy since 2 days after my surgery. My physical therapist cranked on my knee to get flexion back (I'm behind). He also did something my surgeon recommended called proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitatoin I think it was. When he was doing that and bending my knee, I was in so much pain I had to tell him to stop because I felt like I was going to sick. He says it's his job to push me.

I know you are going to have increased pain after therapy (no pain no gain), but how long should it last? How do you know if you did too much?

Thanks!

Knee and croutches?

Alright so when I was playing hockey, my knee hit the ice where the padding feel down on. Well my knee hurt sooo bad and I couldn't skate anymore after I tried 2 more shifts. Well I went back to the locker room and changed and left. So I couldn't walk on it at all, so we brought cruthces up from downstairs so I could walk. Well I go to school and people think I am faking. on Monday people thought I didn't do aything to it. on Tuesday I couldn't go to school, Wendsday, and Thursday we had a snow day, and today my knee still hurt but I could walk on it, people were like, "O, what happen to your leg... your faking their was nothing wrong with it in the first place" Uh YAEH RIGHT well I showed alot of people the bruise it left. so I went to the doctor and my doctor said that i popped a major blood vessal and caused my leg to stiffen up, and avoiding to walk on it, was the best. Why were people saying this to me? WHY

What will help a torn hamstring?

Try the RICE method.
The R stands for rest, make sure you rest your leg and get plenty of fluids, try not to walk around on it to much, if you must use a crutch.
The I stands for Ice. Make sure you press Ice, or some sports relief that will freeze the injury, onto the injured area.
The C stands for compression, this means placing pressure on the injured area, wrapping it in a bandage will work.
The E stands for elevation, lifting the injury in the air so no pressure is put on it for at least 10 minutes at a time, if not longer.
I hope this helps and that you feel better soon. We learnt this method at school in Applied Science and it's one that many physiotherapists and paramedics use, to get the person back to good health asap.

How long will it take to walk normal after femur surgery?

As early as same day or as late as neverIt depends on the extent of the injury and the type of Surgery. If it's a simple fracture, a nail can be inserted and then the patient can start walking after recovering from anaesthesia but compound fractures can be tricky and may need patience. I've seen a patient who had bilateral femoral fracture, had surgery and started walking about 3days after surgery. Of course if we consider “walking normally” that's something else. That greatly depends on other factors like courage, pain, other injuries etc

Torn lebrum in the hip. Tell me what you can.?

Lots of people have explained what a labral tear is, so let me tell you about my and my husbands experience with actually having and dealing with the tear.

My husband had a labral tear and had surgery last year. The surgery didn't take long at all. They went in through 2 little slits in the hip and cut off the loose cartilage (they often related the tear to like a hangnail in the hip socket). He went home the say day as surgery. My husband used crutches to get around the first day, but by the 2nd day he was walking on his own. He said he didn't have any pain, just some mild discomfort.

I was also just diagnosed with a labral tear and cartilage fraying as well and I get a sharp pain and a catching sensation when I climb into bed or into the car. I need to schedule my surgery yet, and I really need to as it can cause problems if not treated.

The only way they can know if you have the tear is to inject a magnetic dye into your hip socket and do an MRI. Both of our labral tears showed up clear as day on the images.

I wish you luck, and if you do need to have surgery to treat this, it is very minor with little pain. Take care.

28 weeks pregnant and it hurts to get up or walk ?

It could be SPD. You can suffer from this during pregnancy. I did.
It is a pelvic disorder - it may be knows as PGP now (Pelvic Girdle Pain)
Read up about it, or take a look at this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphysis_p...

I suffered from it, and the only thing they can do is ease the pain a little by giving you some pain killers that you can take whilst pregnant. If you think now is bad my friend, wait until you are 35 weeks pregnant and so on. (Sorry, but just preparing you).

I was on crutches. It may not be this though. You do need to go and get it checked out. And they may send you to see a physiotherapist.
It is caused when your pelvis opens a little more than expected during pregnancy (this is common if you are overweight, lazy or extremely flexible). It causes swelling around your groin.

Make sure you do not open your legs any more than you need to (natural standing stance). When getting in and out of a car, move your legs at the same time. Get yourself a nursing pillow that can fit between your legs when you sleep. This will help you.

I found that when I was doing things it didnt hurt and when I stopped it hurt like mad, but I soon realised that it only hurt when I stopped because everything i was just doing caught up on me.
Trust me, you have to take it easy. Do not over do things like I did. It caused my baby to get stuck when giving birth as my pelvis was too swollen.

I hope this helps.

I've been waiting at the ER for two hours. How can I be seen quicker?

I've been waiting at the ER for two hours. How can I be seen quicker? You don’t want to be seen quickerIf you’ve been waiting two hours, and are bored and typing this question on your phone, it is unlikely you are a real emergency case. You want to be seen quicker? Stop breathing, have a heart attack, bleed enough to make a pool on the floor, or do something else that shows you need treatment NOW or you’ll die.Or just accept that Triage mean other people need to be seen first, and be thankful you can wait because you’re not that ill.By the way, I have been in fairly much this situation.I wrecked a knee skiing, and after an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon, I was told to take off the support brace, and just walk with the crutches. 20 minutes later, I slipped over on a tiled floor, and landed hard on the damaged knee. The pain then was far worse than either the initial injury, or the post operative pain.An ambulance was called, and I got taken to the ER, where I ended up waiting a fair while. I was in a great deal of pain, but I was conscious, coherent and not in imminent danger, so I was a low priority.I saw many people get triaged ahead of me, all of whom were incoherent, so the medical staff had to assess them now to see if they were OK. The clearly injured person who couldn’t remember their own name as they got wheeled through? Fine. The elderly people with dementia? FineThe Idiots who were so drunk they were a danger to themselves at 11am on a Tuesday morning? If I could have got up, I’d have slapped them silly- they had both police and paramedics with them, and the the staff had clearly seen this so often it was totally routine. Being forced to wait because of these idiots is annoying, but being able to wait is a good sign.

32 weeks pregnant, horrible pubic pain...?

It sounds to me like your muscles and ligaments are stretching and relaxing to accomodate your baby and prepare for the birth. If it gets really painful I would rest until you can see your doctor. I had this with my third, it was due to the pressure on my pelvis - she was a big baby! Some doctors advise rest, some give you a pair of crutches to avoid weightbearing. If it is getting painful to work then I would think about starting your maternity leave if you can. You want to be fit and healthy when your baby comes along so that you can enjoy every last minute of it!

If in doubt though, please call your midwife - she is the expert and that is what she is there for!

Good luck hunny xxxx
