I Have A Huge Blister And I Can

I have HUGE blisters on my shoulders....help?

First of all, skin that has blistered has experienced a second-degree burn (from the sun). It wouldn't be a bad idea to see your doctor. If not, apply something like aloe vera cream or gel to the blisters. Don't pop them, keep your burned shoulders lightly covered with a lightweight blouse, cotton is good since it allows the area to "breathe". Don't be concerned about getting them to heal/shrink faster. It will have to heal on it's own time, and please DON'T let this happen again, it is very damaging for your skin, and a sunburn like this significantly increases your chances of having skin cancer, (melanoma).

I burned myself about 2 days ago. Now I have about a huge blister, should I pop it?

Hi:

DON'T POP IT!

When you get a burn and within a minute or two you have a blister, your body does this for a reason.

So you burned your self and your body has made a blister. Well as gross as blisters can be, blisters are actually good things to happen and here is why:

You burn yourself and blister, the whole reason your body blisters is to protect the underlying layers of skin from possible burning again, but more importantly those underlying layers of skin will now be the outer layers of skin and the skin on the inside doesn't even compare to the durability of the skin we have on the outside. Now it's time to be the outer skin, but it's not so tough. but has to be SOON.

Your skin blisters up because suddenly your body has called for fluids and enzymes to come to the burnt area to

Protect the new skin as it is still very sensitive.

Keep it moist as to be able to flush out any bacteria that gets trapped there so it will not cause infection

And also to help toughen up that new skin that needs to now be on the outside and tough.

The fluid also helps to cool down the burn

By popping your blister, you have now taken away your body's natural healing ability and that area now hurts like heck, is extremely susceptible to an infection, the skin inside is just going to be tossed into the outside world and stings because the natural healing path has been destroyed. There is also now no natural fluid to help to cool down the area of the burn. The here is the gross part..after all the damage above has been done, now to add insult to injust to this blistered area we as a natural reaction end up picking away at the dead blister covering sking which in turn gives a higher chance of infection.

DON'T POP IT

Band Aid products bandages has come out with the cooles "Blister Band Aids" I forget the actual name. They ar a hydroheal bandage. you put it on after cleaning and drying and the band aid basically does what your body is doing but also preventing you from picking at it and eventually popping it. It stays on for days in the shower and all. I have used them and I think they are just wonderful!

It's worth a try anyway.

I hope your blister heals soon.

Be safe and be well

I have a huge blister on my foot, and it burst and now there is a huge hole and i can see my inner muscles?

Don't worry, what you're seeing is not your inner muscle :) It is just lower layers of skin.
The best thing you can do for it is keep it clean and keep it dry. Try getting some clean sterile gauze, the thin pad kinds, and taping it onto your foot with medical tape. Seal every side so as to not let any dirt, or especially sand get in, at all.
This means you can't be dipping your foot in the water, Sorry :(

UNLESS, as soon as you get out of the water you remove the bandages, clean it up with clean distilled water (and a mild antibacterial soap mixed with water), saline, or an anti-septic wipe. Dry it off very well, throw some more neosporin on it, a thin layer, and apply new bandages just like before.

If you throw a little first aid kit together with some wipes, water, sterile gauze, neosprorin, and tape into your purse then you'll be ready to take care of it at the beach. Just take 5 min to check it out every now and then if you want it to heal up quick..!

Have fun! Soak up some rays for me! (Still cold here in northern BC Canada! Booo!)

I have a huge blister and I can't walk on it!!?

My new school shoes gave me blisters, and one is the size of a Penny, and the piece of skin came off. I can bearly walk without limping and it kills just to put my foot flat. What can I do? :(

My sunburn blister is HUGE should i pop it or will it go down on its own.?

Instructions

1
Prevention is the best remedy. Always protect your skin when you will be out in the sun for long periods of time. Put on SPF lotion regularly, including each time you get out of the water, even it is waterproof, better to be safe than sorry. Wear a hat and shades whenever possible. Yes, a tan looks great but everytime you burn you are increasing your risk for having skin problems and not looking your best when you get older. Use sunless tanners to get that tanned look you desire.

2
Wear loose cotton clothing on sunburn blisters. Don't put bandages on them because they need air to breath and heal. Keep them uncovered as much as possible.

3
To soothe the pain of sunburn blisters take a luke warm bath. Add one of the following: 2-3 cups Apple Cider Vinegar, 5-8 tea bags, 1 cup baking soda or 1-2 cups Oatmeal. You can also add in several drops of lavendar oil with any of these options. All have been shown to be excellant home remedies for sunburn blisters by relieving the sting and pain. After your bath, apply one of the topical remedies.

4
Using cotton balls, gently apply Apple Cider Vinegar to the blisters as long as they are not broken. You can also put some in an empty spray bottle and just spray it on. Put on as often as needed for pain, to keep the sunburn blisters clean and to promote healing.

5
Another home remedy for sunburn blisters is honey. Simply apply honey to the blisters with your fingers and leave on as long as possible. To keep the honey from sticking to your fingers too much, spray a little cooking oil on them. The honey can be rinsed off with water.

6
Lavendar Oil is a wonderful home remedy for sunburn blisters because it helps to repair and heal tissue. It smells awesome too! Gently apply the Lavendar Oil directly to the blisters as needed.

7
For moisturization and infection fighting apply Virgin Coconut Oil. This is an amazing oil. It absorbs quickly and works wonders on sunburn blisters. It could even keep you from peeling. It has been shown to be a very effective home remedy for sunburn blisters

How can I get rid of a big blister on my foot?

Have someone (preferably a medical professional) pierce the blister with a needle, apply an antiseptic, then wrap a bandage around it. You should be fine, but it would be smart to find a new pair of shoes.

I have had a large burn blister for the past 3 days. Should I burst it to heal it quicker?

I'm not a physician.Ideally, No.So let's define "large" as 2-3cm and the location as the forearm or outer aspect of the hand a cooking oil type burn. Or on the foot from an improperly fitting shoe worn too long under exertion. Bursting it will not alter the rate at which skin repair takes place. The serous fluid of the blister cushions the raw healing skin and protects it from infection and from drying out as it grows properly back. It's a sterile wet dressing for your wound and you didn't even have to pay for it. The longer it stays intact the longer the wound has to heal before exposure to potential infection.Best.
