I Have A Little Bit Of A Fashion Dilemna Help

Long torso, short legs dilemna?

You don't look that bad, and it looks like you're wearing flip-flops in that photo.

Layering your shirts is good, especially if the under layered shirt (the ones that's longer) is the same or similar color as your pants. For example a black shirt with a green, shorter shirt over that with black pants...the black will be continuing so it'll help to balance things out. If you wear skirts you can go for highwaisted skirts and a regular length blouse and tuck it in. You're slim so you can pull this off real well, and it's a very classic look. If you've seen in any USWeekly magazines over the past couple months a lot of celebs have been doing that. Black highwaisted skirt with a white blouse tucked in.

You can also try pinstripe pants to help lengthen your legs. And you don't need to wear heels. Some sneakers and boots have a 1-2" sole...they practically are heels. I have a pair of sneakers (Vans) with about a 1" sole...they add height to me.

(Btw...was that pic taken in CT at the Pachaug State Forest? It looks really similar...)

What are some examples of ethical dilemmas?

I find that most ethical dilemmas boil down to boundaries: what is acceptable in the relationship.Touch, for example, many find all forms of touch to be unethical. Other counselors may be okay with just a hug. Still, others may be okay with holding as a reparative experience.Gifts, as another example. Some therapists will not accept gifts in any form. Others will accept gifts under a certain price range (their is a price named in the code of ethics, but I can't remember exactly what it is and which code it's from). Some will only accept gifts that are personally crafted and thus monetary value is more of a question mark (art, crocheted blankets, etc.).Outside contact is another one of those blurry ethical areas. Technically speaking outside contact is not forbidden by the code of ethics. In fact, the code suggests that it is acceptable when client and therapist are in different locations. However, when it comes to text and email this becomes a very personal choice because in the states HIPPA also enters the equation. Text and email aren't confidential unless special precautions are taken, so most counselors don't allow for this unless it is for scheduling and business purposes. Those who do allow more, I find, tend to find this less than sustainable unless they're in group practice and doing DBT (which calls for coaching).Dual relationships goes along well with outside contact. Apparently some therapists fear that allowing outside contact is a slippery slope that will lead to a dual relationship. Some dual relationships can't be avoided as another answerer has stated. In small communities where there may only be one counselor, it may be more unethical to deny the person your services.I think in all cases, it just boils down to, what's in the best interest of the client. What will cause them the least harm and do the most good? And being sure that the counselors own stuff doesn't get in the way of honestly answering that question.

Help! I wanna buy Nike Women's running shorts for myself in a sports store but i feel embarassed about it. ?

Help me out please! I'll choose a best answers n u can earn points.

Ok first of all i'm a guy.

U see, a few days ago, i was browsing this sports store in my town. It's quite a big store, has many well known brands like Nike, Adidas, Mizuno, Teva etc. It sells sports wear, sports shoes, sneakers, flip flops, swimwear, t-shirts, boardshorts, sports equipment etc.

I was browsing for some running shorts. Those short kind, kinda like 1/4 length, with slit at both sides. Dri-fit material. Something like what marathoners would wear.

I went over to look at Nike Men's section n i see many knee length shorts n the running shorts they have are in grey, navy n black kind of colors. Rather drab looking kind of colors, like what i already had.

So i went over to the Nike Women's section n saw some really nice looking short running shorts. Something like this. http://i35.tinypic.com/35lyxra.jpg

The color combinations are quite bright, nice n attractive, unlike those in the men's section.

So i thought it look kinda cool, i felt like buying. But wait a minute, this is the women's section! Besides, the shorts are tagged Nike Women.

I guess i need to try on for size before buying, as i want a perfect fit. And i think not all sizes are displayed there so i probably need to call for the sales assistant's assitance.

But i feel kinda embarrassed, like what would the SA think of me if i were to try on female clothing. Would he/she think i m gay, or a crossdresser, or a weirdo?

So i probably felt nervous n i also didn't wanna hang out in the female clothing section too long. (i was alone by the way).

I then left but now i have compulsions to go back there n buy but i feel kinda awkward about it...

So what should i do?

Thanks for helping me sort out this dilemna

What are some key pieces of clothing I definitely must have in my wardrobe?

I definitely “second” a lot of advice from these responses, but I think it can be a simpler endeavor than what some people are saying! I am a big fan of having a sturdy set of “basics” and then peppering in fun, current pieces in the accessories. A few tips:Pick a color scheme— the other answers have this right! Choose shades you feel best in, and that includes neutrals (some people love camel or white, some people feel best in black. Listen to yourself!).Choose high-quality materials, no matter what you’re buying. A cheap sweater will show its true nature really quick. There are a lot of affordable options out there now that are very transparent about what’s in their clothes— Everlane comes to mind. And at Uniqlo, you can buy a great cashmere sweater that you’ll love wearing, and it’ll be truly timeless. Invest in sturdy pieces, you won’t have to break the bank to do so.Have fun with accessories. My shop HEALER sells a lot of bold statement pieces because that’s what I love to wear— a great necklace will make the difference between an office outfit and a friday night outfit, even if the clothing itself is exactly the same. Same deal with shoes. A great pair of shoes or a bag will totally change the look.FIT IS KEY. I can’t stress this enough, partly because it’s the trap I always fall into— I buy things online final sale and the fit is…just okay. I know it’s annoying to return items or go try-on in stores, but if you know you’re not the kind of person who is going to go to a tailor, it’s essential. A $2000 suit is going to still look cheap and tacky if it doesn’t fit right. Remember that.Be honest with yourself about your life. It’s easy to get sucked into buying what celebrities or it-girls are wearing and then realize there is absolutely NOWHERE in your life that is appropriate to wear that piece. I love cozy wool sweaters but I now live in a tropical climate. I had to adjust. But in the process, I learned more about what I enjoy wearing in my own life.Best of luck!

What should my social studies project be on, the bombing of Hiroshima, or the prohibition of alcohol?

Please help! I am in a dilemna. I do not know what I should do my social studies project on. I'm interested in the bombing of Hiroshima--it seems like a pretty cool topic. However, I only have 2 weeks to complete it, and would it be too hard to do the bombing of Hiroshima? If so, I would choose the prohibition of alchohol which is only mildly interesting. I would like to know your opinion...the bombing of Hiroshima, or the prohibition of alchohol?
