I Have A Question About Weights Help

Help with Stats question?

Hard body :

Arithmetic mean :
Xbar = ΣX / N = 296 / 17 = 17.4
Standard deviation :
s = √ [Σ(X - Xbar)^2 / N] = √ [96.12 / 17] = 2.38
Variance :
s^2 = 5.66
Degrees of freedom = 17 - 1 = 16
--------------------
Soft body :

Xbar = 88 / 6 = 14.7
s = √ [113.34 / 6] = 4.35
s^2 = 18.92
Degrees of freedom = 6 - 1 = 5
--------------------
Using the F distribution :
F = (larger variance) / (smaller variance)
= 18.92 / 5.66 = 3.34 (with v1 = 5 and v2 = 16)

This is a two-tailed test because the null hypothesis is
that there is no difference between the variances.
With a 5% probability limit, each tail area = 0.025.
Looking up a table of the F distribution for v1 = 5
and v2 = 16, the value given for 0.025 is 3.50.
The observed value of 3.34 is less than 3.50, so it
lies between the 5% probability limits.
Thus, the null hypothesis is accepted, so the claim
that there is a difference in the variances of the weights
of the two types CANNOT be substantiated, at the
0.05 level of confidence.
(My apologies to statistical experts if that is incorrect)

SURF BOARD HEIGHT WEIGHT QUESTIONS PLEASE HELP!!?

Many decades ago I started surfing on a short board. I surfed every day I could. I got pounded, free fell over the falls, would be in the water for hours and lucky to catch a single wave...but I hung in there. I was determined...and had the focus and desire to learn. Eventually I got pretty good...not pro-level...but good enough.

If I had to start over...I would do it differently with what I know. I also teach surfing now..and would never start anyone on a short board.

With that being said...I do know you can learn on a short board. The road is longer and alot more difficult...but it can be done. You have to have a strong desire, determination, spend alot of time in the water, be in decent shape and not be the type of person that gives up easily.

One of the problems with surfing...is balancing how well your board FLOATS you and how RESPONSIVE your board is. Generally the thicker the board is...the less responsive it will be.

Since it sounds like since you're pretty decent on a skim board you are probably used to alot of responsiveness. You tried your friends 8 footer and found it not responsive enough...(when I surfed my first longboard...I found it soooo easy to catch waves...but had a hard time figuring how to turn the darn thing).

Learning on a short board you will not have much float. That means harder to get into waves...which means less waves. If you can live with that...then go ahead.

As a starting point...what Surfammo said on the dimensions seem reasonable...thickness - 2.5 to 3 inches...height - 6'6" to 6'10". But I think talking to your LOCAL SHAPERS in your area would be the BEST ADVICE.

good luck to you...

Weight question :) x?

You are not huge at all! You sound more like borderline anorexic. At your age you need as many vitamins and such as you can get, your body needs nutrition in order to grow strong and healthy. Don't starve yourself! Your hair falling out is a sure sign of vitamin deficiency- your body is very unhealthy!
When you eat very small amounts, if you increase your food intake your body will store food and fat, waiting for you to starve it again. you gain much more weight by restricting yourself so much than you would if you just ate heaps of small meals all throughout the day. You should consider this.

Does yoga help with weight loss?

Yes It is. I lost 3 Kgs in less than a month. It worked out for me in an effective manner. I even hit 108 per day, and the change is very visible. You can start with minimum 7 rounds per day and gradually increase the count.  I used to pursue running and sometimes gym and sometimes diet. But this time i didnt care about anything, In fact i increased my Carb loading. The change was phenomenal and u can feel it along the day after workout, all the muscles in active state.Before you start any weight loss program, you should know there are about 3,500 calories in 1 pound of fat. S0, you need to reduce your daily calories by 250 to 500 in order to achieve ½ to 1 pound of weight loss per week. What is the most annoying question regarding weight loss?

Annoying Questions About Weight Loss:1.     Medical Emergency Questions.  Holy shit, if you’re bleeding, get on the telephone and call medical emergency straight away!2.     Medically complicated persons asking exercise questions.  If you’re diabetic and want to become the one legged person training for the long jump with a personal and family history of heart disease and are all pharma’ed up with meds that affect your heart rate, you need to consult with your medical team and hire a professional to help you and CHANGE your training goals!  Asking for free advice on the internet is not for you! 3.     Minors/Children asking weight loss questions.  Bad bad bad.4.     People that weigh nothing and want to lose weight (clearly an eating disorder question and OUT OF SCOPE for an internet forum.  See a doctor!).  This is a tough one because some of these askers need help, but some of these askers are literally seeking eating disorders.5.     Super personal unique questions regarding weight loss where the person lists all their intake data.  “I’m 5’6 and weigh 100 pounds and ….”  That’s a session.  If you have questions like this then we are on the clock.6.     Robot food questions or testimonials which is bad enough, but where the end goal is to build their downline. Fad diet mania and all of the canned leading questions to suck everyone in from the person selling the fad diet crap. Question are also usually robot questions:  “Are you a personal trainer?” My inbox is full of this garbage.  They are basically asking “Can I have your client’s contact information?”  Haha, seriously?  Super duper NO to you.  I’ve written on robot food here: 5 Reasons Fad Diets Don’t Work7.     Holiday weight loss expert answers that are instant experts and want your time, i.e. “I’d like to share with you that I’ve been eating this new Tree Bark & Mud Square for all of my meals and have lost 800 pounds, and kept it off for 2 hours.  I’d love to show you all the information.”  My answer:  “No no no, no no, no no.”8.     So called “helping” others.  My needs to lose weight.  I’m sure the person asking is just perfect.  :)------Let me know if I can help.
