I Have A Quick Question On Returning Mail

Why do people say "I just have a quick question"?

There has never been a speed factor in questions! It's just a common and polite way of trying to excuse ourselves from the intrusion of asking the other person! It's nothing more than that. It's not literal.

Quick Physics Question?

there are a couple of ways of solving this. First, we are told the range is 104 m and the launch angle is 45 degrees. From this, we can get the initial speed from the equation:

R=v0^2 sin(2 theta)/g where v0 is initial speed and g is accel due to grav

sin (2x45)=1, so we have

v0^2=gR= 104x9.8=1019.2
v0=31.9m/s

from this, we can find the initial x and y components of speed:

v0x=v0cos45=22.6 /s; we also know that this is the horizontal speed throughout the trip since there are no forces in the horizontal direction to change the horizontal motion

v0y=v0sin45=22.6 m/s (the vertical speed varies because of the vertical force of gravity)

so...if the horizontal speed is always 22.6 m/s, then we know that the ball is 94m away when t=94m/22.6m/s =
4.16 s

now, use the equation of motion in the y(t) direction:

y(t)=y0+v0yt-1/2gt^2
y(4.16)=1.25 m + 22.6m/s x 4.16s - 1/2 (9.8m/s/s)(4.16)^2
y(4.16)=10.4m

so the center of the ball is 1.95 m above the top of the fence

Victim of identity theft (taxes); I have a quick question...?

Long story short victim of tax theft two years in a row. My ex girlfriends father both times. He's done my taxes for me since 2010 (with permission) and everything was fine. Two years ago I asked him, even after we had broken up, because I figured there was still a great amount of mutual respect and love regardless, and my refund was stolen in full. I, of course, cut off communication. Became very vengeful. But eventually realized it was my fault for reaching out, being naive and asking him. So, I didn't file any report or anything. I figured "you got me this one time, silly me, it's done". But... no.

This year I go to file and it says someone has filed for me. Low and behold, someone has already filed. I go through the motions of filing out the theft form. Calling the FTC, credit freezes, ALL of the necessary steps.

I kept calling the IRS throughout the months and got nothing "it's not ready yet; call back October", "we'll send something to you". etc. Anyway, I'm out of town and my roommate says I FINALLY got something in the mail from the IRS.

For people that's aware or have been a victim themselves. Could it be a check? Or paperwork asking for more hoops for me to jump through in order to get my return. Again, this is my first time going through this, so I have no idea what to expect.

Thanks!

When having a professional email conversation, is it proper etiquette to start each email with "Hello" despite already saying it in the starting email?

As previously sated it depends a lot on the level of the discussion and always, the kind of person(ality) your're writing to.This a question we all have when we're dealing with a new interlocutor (internal or external stakeholder). What I use to do is to follow the standard business etiquette and little by little drooping a more informal word and checking if there's a return or openness on the way we interact. Its like testing the water.Like going from "Dear Mr X" to "Good morning Mr X" to "Hello Mr X, hope you're doing well", just as examples. the goodbye part can also be used as a test.Bottom line is to see how's the reaction from the other side, to see if we can move from a formal relation to a more informal. In doubt, one can also wait for signs from the other side to follow their steps. As it seems the other part already said "hello" and that's a kite open and friendly greeting, you can indeed use it one more time (in this case I would dare to say "hello again", otherwise "Hi X".Never ever had any issues following this trend or approachCheers

Return USPS mailbox key to landlord or USPS?

I'm ending my rental contract and I had to get the centralized mailbox key from USPS (not from my landlord). So my question is, should I return it to my landlord or to USPS?

Is there any way to return an unread email to the sender?

You'll have to open it to forward it or respond. I can right click my e-mail in Outlook and forward without opening it but it doesn't appear to be unopened when sent. In other words, the person you are returning the e-mail to would have no way of knowing you never opened it.

Can I return a pair of glasses to LensCrafter by mail if it's within the 30-days guarantee period?

it doesn't have to be returned to the store you bought it from, you can just go the nearest local lenscrafters and they'll take it back as long as it's in the same condition that you got them in (new policy as of a couple months ago cuz in the past they used to accept anything back)...meaning as long as they aren't chewed up by a dog or run over by your car, you can return them at any lenscrafters, the policy is printed on the back of your receipt

if you needed the glasses right away cuz you lost them while on vacation, a plastic hi-index lens with anti-reflective coating (anti-glare) for semi-rimless frames would be a special order and you would not have been able to get it as quick as you might have wanted....they most likely offered polycarbonate cuz it's the best the for semi-rimless to reduce the likelihood of the lens chipping but they couldv'e offered you the "featherwates plus" version of polycarbonate so the thickness would be closer to the hi-index lens....also, the size and shape of the frame would affect the thickness of the lenses-- if it's a high minus rx, the more smaller and rounder the shape, the thinner the edges...it's also thinner if your eyes are more centered to the lenses

just go to the nearest lenscrafters and return it if you don't like it, or if you really like the frames and just want the thinner lenses, just ask for the hi-index 1.67 lenses and pay the difference for the upgrade....it's their policy to either exchange of return within 30 days....you don't need to bring the receipt if you can't find it, it's all in the computer system...their computer network is nationwide

How long does it take H&M to return money to your credit card once I have returned an item(s)?

It can take up to 31 days for the payment to be posed to your account. Seems ridicules since it only takes 2 seconds for the funds to come off. Give it 8-10 days which is normal and then call if it's not posted by then. The longest I ever had to wait for a credit card refund was as quick as 5 days and as long as 18 days.

Is it rude to return a missed phone call via email, text or IM? ?

I feel if they leave a voice mail expressly requesting I return their call, I do so when I can. If I can't, I will text a response saying "I just wanted to let you know I got your message and I'll call you back later." That way they've been acknowledged and know to expect a phone call later. If someone leaves a message without requesting a call back, I don't call them back unless I have a new reason, possibly stemming from their voice mail. If someone can't be bothered to leave me a voice mail, I don't bother returning their call. My family, friends and I are under the impression that if it's important enough, they'll leave a message. The only way a voice mail should be answered immediately is if it's an emergency. Clearly you should make time to return that type of phone call. I think you're being very polite. People have difficulty understanding that you can't answer your cell and make personal calls all day at work.
