I Have A Really Bad Vertical Jump Pic

Basketball: I'm 6 foot tall, 18 years old and 150 lbs. What should I do to be able to dunk in the next year?

As a teenager,  I  was 6 ft tall and 160 lbs and practiced dunking all the time (at least trying to)  but no matter how much I tried I couldn't do it. I worked at it almost every day. I was also a soccer player and had very strong legs, but  the best I could do was get my hands slightly above the rim. I sort of semi dunked a few times, but I could never get myself high enough to do a true dunk.  Sometimes  your body simply doesn't cooperate no matter how hard you try. Keep trying, but if it isn't working out then concentrate on your outside shot and your ball handling skills. Dunking is a powerful statement in basketball, but having a good three point shot and good passing and ball handling skills are far more important in today's game. Players who can dunk are a dime a dozen. Players who can handle the ball well, pass well and shoot well are golden. In the end screw the dunking if it doesn't come and work on the other facets of the game.

What are some ways for always looking nice in pictures?

Some amazing tricks for looking good in pictures are:Assume the lens is your crush and flirt with it.Find your best angle by posing into the mirror.Try to wear bright color clothes if you are clicking in day time. Also, the dark lipstick (for people who wear makeup)Smile naturally don’t fake it.Pinch your cheeks before the picture so it would create a natural glow and blushFor a classic pose - turn your body three quarters of the way toward the camera, with one foot in front of the other and one shoulder closer to the photographer. To give your hair a quick touch of volume, flip it upside down and shake through your strands with your fingers. When you flip it back, you’ll be left with an imperfect and tousled look that will appear textured in photos. In one Wake Forest University study, researchers found that the left side of the human face is generally more appealing to others than the right side.Image source: google

What is a good vertical jump in volleyball for a high school girl?

Please......everyone above is just throwing in some #'s.
Let's get real. Men's average is about 20" and young girls' average is around 13". If you get 16" or above, you are considered very good and if you have around 20", you should be really happy.
Check some fitness related wesites and see for yourself.

To the person below me,
Who asked about vertical jump of a professional athlete?
If you really have 32" vertical, you should be able to spike the ball straight down over MEN'S net and DUNK a tennis ball into 10 feet high basketball rim. I've never seen a girl 5'11" jump so high. See if you can do that and then measure your vertical properly. 32cm(=13") sounds more realistic.

Below are some all time high vertical jump records for University of Nebraska:(women's NCAA volleyball champion in 2006)

Volleyball: Laura Pilakowski 29" 8/9/02
Basketball: Tanya Upthegrove 26.5" 10/13/94
Track & Field: Angee Henry 29.5" 1996

Note that above people are exceptional jumpers in college and school record holders so the average is far below.
I'm not saying women can never jump very high like over 30" but we should be more realistic with the numbers.

duh?

How bad is this thoroughbred's conformation....?

Ok, this is what I see in his conformation.

First of all he has a nice refined head and looks to have a large kind eye. This is very important as horses will smaller eyes tend to be more prone to spooking. He also has a nice clean throatlatch, which will allow him to flex at the poll easier than if he had a thick one.

I like the appearance of his neck, however it does tie in to his chest a tad bit too low. His shoulders also appear to be slightly upright which may relate to a short and choppy stride. I'm not too familar with forearm conformation, but his is pleasing to eye.

He also has a short croup as the point of the croup and point of the hip should be vertical of each other.

The first thing that popped out at me is that he has a slight to moderate roached spin. See above his loins how his spine arches upward moreso then normal. This shortens his stride, and will cause a rough ride. This will make it diffcult for this horse to perform well in any activity that requires collection and it will effect him while jumping.

It could be the photography, but he also appears to be slightly downhill. This would make him prone to riding on the forehand.

The legs are too difficult to judge with the pictures you've given us. I think he's a cute horse, how is he under saddle? I do think he'd start to look better with some more weight on his bones as well as muscled along his topline, shoulders, and hip.

Can I donk? Basketball??

Dunkin requires leg strenght so focus buildin strenght in your legs and you should do fine!!!!!!!

Are squats, calf raises and depth jumps a good combination for increasing one’s vertical jump?

The most effective tool to increase vertical jump, unparalleled with all other exercises combined, is the Olympic Weightlifting. I have personal experience with this. (Motor unit and central nervous system training !)Snatch lift variations such as Power Snatch, (Jump and catch) is a good start with Olympic weightlifting. The problem with Oly-lifting is that it is very technical lift and not easy to learn, therefore most athletes shy away. If you have a basic schooling ( 1 year minimum) with barbell, training with Deadlifts, Squats and Bench, you are very qualified to learn the Snatch and Clean and Jerk. That is where you excel with explosive power and that directly leads to amazing vertical jumps.Squats are fine and will get you started, the Box Jump variations are good assistant exercises. Calf raise? No.Thank youPic: Pyrros Dimas - Wikipedia

Weird Lines all over my Computer Screen??

No virus
the problem can be narrowed down to these

1. Monitor problem(as you said monitor iam assuming its a desktop)
check monitor; Remove VGA cable(blue in color) from the back of CPU/Chassis/box coming from the monitor. Power on the monitor and not the computer/cpu/chassis . If monitor does not show any lines and says that cable not connected or shows some menu as no input then monitor is probably fine. Reattach VGA cable. Power on the computer and press or tap F2/Del key to get in to BIOS settings. Once you have entered Bios check if you see any lines or colors if not monitor is fine.
2. video driver/card problem
Restart computer press/tap F8 key till you reach a screen that says safe mode, safe mode with networking etc on a black screen. Select Safe mode and hit enter. Dont worry if you see everthing is in enlarged form, it just means that your computer is running with your mother board integrated video and not the add on video card itself.
do you see lines now. No , your motherboard is fine, could be a problem with either video card drivers or video card
Reinstall video card driver. Control panel> system> select hardware tab>device manager> select your video card (display adapter) right click on it and install video card rivers.
Make sure if you do not have a video card, you have installed Video drivers for your motherboard from the CD that you got when you bought your computer. Dont tell me that you dint get it , everybody gets its and then they forget about it,
Remove video card Manually from CPU chassis and check if you still receive lines. if no, video card could have gone bad

3. motherboard(integrated video) , very rare
If you see lines in BIOS or F8 screen then probably motherboard has gone bad.

4. no high voltage appliance near monitor(vacuum cleaner, hair blower etc)

You can also check for monitor problems if you have an extra monitor or laptop, just connect VGA/DVI cable to laptop or extra monitor and check.
press Fn+f8 for laptop display
reply if any prob.
