Mcdonalds Orientation?

Orientation means that you are hired. During orientation you will sign papers stating that you are eligible to work in the US and tax forms and other forms (make sure to bring your social security card and a picture id) you will receive your uniform (or you should) and you should also receive an employee handbook. Even though you are going to be working at McDonalds, I would wear a business casual attire like a nice shirt and a nice pair of pants. You may also train on the computer for a little bit, but it depends on the store. You also should get a tour of the property. I worked at McDonalds for 3 and 1/2 years during high school and won McDonalds employee of the year for my state in 2006. If you work during your senior year you also may be eligible for the employee scholarship, $1000 or more. Good Luck! You are going to do well and keep your head up, customers can be rude because they think that you are below them just because you work at McDonalds.

What strikes first time visitors as special or unusual when they arrive in San Diego, CA?

San Diego is the second largest city in California (Los Angeles is largest); however, it has a “laid back” vibe. It feels more like beach town rather than the hustle and bustle of a big city (although traffic is becoming an issue). The weather is near perfect year round with an average temperature of the mid 70’s. The city is centers around 5 main areas. Downtown which includes, the Gas Lamp Quarter, Little Italy and Seaport Village; Mission Bay which an large interior body of water great for waters sport activities; the beach communities of Pacific Beach and Mission Beach which has a long board walk and a wide sandy beach. It has tons of restaurants, bars and clubs (mostly a younger crowd). The crown jewel of the city is the community of La Jolla. This is a posh and ultra wealthy neighborhood (still laid back and not snobby or pretentious). It has a very walkable village with many boutique shops, art galleries and restaurants. It also has an beautiful walking path that sits on a cliff above the shoreline that offers amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and marine wildlife. The mid-city neighboorhoods of Hillcreast and North Park are the new up an coming trendier parts of the city. Think hipster, edgy and counter-culture. It’s is known for great restaurants, whisky bars, independent coffee shops, and a large LGBT community. San Diego is about a 2 hour drive to Los Angeles (without traffic) and 1 hour south of Orange County. The city also has a large military presence and is only 20 minutes away from Tijuana, Mexico.
