I Have A Sort Of Ticklish Feeling In My Throat I Have Had It For About A Month Or So What

Why do I get a tickle in my throat and cough after putting a Qtip in my ear?

It's called Arnold's nerve or alderman's nerve. Rich medieval guys used to pour alcohol into their ears after eating at a feast - this sets off this nerve which is connected to the vagus nerve. The vagus nerve makes you cough and empties your stomach ( so the rich guys can eat more food ! )Please stop putting stuff in your ear, you'll cause wax build up and a ear infection. If they are itchy ( which is the skin growing back after you have scratched it off), get some betnesol drops and use that instead.

Causes of sore throat for two months?

Since the end of October, when we came back from our vacation/holiday, I've had a sore throat which hasn't gone away since. It isn't that sore, only slightly, but it makes my voice sound croaky, which has made my mother think I should go to the doctor. It has gotten more sore, then less sore, then more sore then less sore. I haven't had any other symptoms I don't think, so I was wondering what it could be? By the way, I don't see anything unusual when I look in my mouth at my throat. I'm a teenage girl, and I'm really scared in case my voice is breaking and I'm going to turn into a man. Would that be possible? If not, what could be wrong?

Tickle and cough in throat..?

It could be a coughing-type asthma reaction.
I have cough-type asthma. I cough when I am exposed to certain types of things. - primarily perfumes or scents.
I used to cough when I went to bed - it turns out that I was having a reaction to the laundry detergent smells on the sheets and pillow cases. I also have reactions to soap, lotions, smelly candles, shampoo, drier sheets - anything that says "fragrance" or "perfume" on the ingredients. I also cough when exposed to smoke, and certain types of flowers.

The only way I was able to get it under control was to start using scent-free soaps, shampoos, sunscreens, laundry detergent, drier sheets, lotions and such.

I had to replace my pillows too - because so much scent had permeated them over the years.

Good luck.

I developed this problem in my mid-thirties. My life is much better now that I don't have any scents in my life.

If you have a significant other, they will probably have to switch shampoos and soaps too.

I had my problem diagnosed by going to a pulmonologist and an allergist. My biggest symptom was the going-to-sleep cough. It felt like a weight on the middle of my chest - that made me have to cough. The cough was always dry - and there was a kind of wheezing sound during the cough.

It was misdiagnosed as bronchitis by General Practitioners a couple times before I went to the specialist who was able to figure out what my problem was.

How can I get rid a tickle in my throat and a cough?

You need to check with your doctor. Not all coughs are the same. I saw mine for an annoying dry cough and he told me it was related to food allergies. I was already allergic to cherry soda, so since I drank 1 Pepsi a day, that the was first thing I eliminated. After 4 days the cough subsided. I waited a full week before drinking a Pepsi. The cough immediately returned. It stopped again when I stopped Pepsi again. From what I read about food allergies, food colors are the most common. It was hard to give up sodas, but I do drink one every now and again.Stomach trouble could cause it as one of others suggested. Your doctor would have to check that out. A low magnesium causes a wide range of symptoms. You might try taking a magnesium supplement to see if it helps. Again check with your doctor.

What is actually happening when you get a tickle in your throat and you can't stop coughing?

It’s really annoying to experience a cough that really tickles your throat. This type of ‘furry feeling’ on the throat is caused usually by viruses such as colds. This is known to happen whenever the virus gets transferred to the nose, and ultimately, on the throat due to the passage that connect the two. This also leads to the airways of our body which is why we tend to experience some cough and even have some phlegm, but the phlegm is not as many as what infections can cause.Coughs that have a tickly sensation is known to usually last for a lot of days, and this usually happens right after the infection has been eased. This is usually caused by dusty and smoky places, and there are also instances where this can develop due to very cold temperatures. The dust and smoke particles get stuck on the throat whenever there is still mucus in your throat, and the foreign particles will cause a friction to your throat. Sometimes tickly throat can go back to infections once you keep on coughing a lot, or if you cause friction to your throat. There are some remedies to this other than letting your cough be gone for good. All you need is to drink lots of water so that you can ease the cough, and avoid cold foods so that you won’t get the foreign particles stuck in your throat once you experience this. In that way, for sure you will be able to relieve your cough, as well as that itchy and tickly sensation. Check here for a List of Remedies that help.

How do I clear my throat after smoking weed, as coughing doesn’t help?

Lots of cold water best thing to help before after and during smoking. Hope that helps it’s mostly your throat is just sensitive it will get used to the smoke but you’ll get a funny feeling in the back of it like it’s not clear , it’s just a sensation try to ignore it, won’t take long to go away.EditThat sensation only happens in new smokers so give it a couple of months and you won’t be coughing start of smoking smaller amounts and move your way up to help reduce that irratation.

Tickling sensation in lower right side?

Hello, I've had this very weird sensation at certain times in my life for the past.. 5 years or so. I'm only 15, so this worries me a bit. So the sensation is somewhat of a tickle, which only happens when I do one of several things I've noticed:

1) Try to sleep on my left side.
2) Attempt to put headphones on (for the computer and such. if sound goes into just the right ear I go insane and take the headphones off quickly.). Also, when I used to play the xbox I had a microphone that I absolutely HAD to keep on my left ear. If I put it on my right, I would have this sensation horribly.
3) Lastly, I don't want to say it because it sounds like I'm faking or something, but it generally happens when I think about it. If It doesn't pop into my head, I'm usually fine. But if something happens like a radio is turned on and the sound only goes into my right ear, I'll generally think about me not having the situation and then get the sensation. It's sort of like pain; if you have a wound and you haven't seen it, it doesn't hurt as bad because you're going by just the feeling of pain, not what you've seen.

The tickle is on my lower right side, kind of on my hip more towards my back. It is extremely annoying when it occurs and I'm thinking it might be something Neurological. I'll be going to the Neurologist sometime in the next few months I think, so my problem might be fixed then, but I wanted to ask about it here to see if I could get any other answers.
Thank you.
