Can I have these tattoos in the Air Force?
No. You can't have tattoos on your neck or head. Also, if you are looking at a commission, you should also look at AFROTC at your school. OTS boards are unpredictable and more selective and you could be looking at 2-3 years before your start date even if they did take you (after you paid to have the tats removed). -Daniel
Visible tattoos before joining Air Force...?
Usually AF is too picky and I doubt it. But you can chat with a recruiter and see what he says. http://airforce.com/chat/?or=nav.001
Join Air Force with tattoo behind ear?
I am a female with a small tattoo behind my ear, if I were to cut my hair short it would be covered and therefore I would be in regulation because it would not be visible. Would this count or is it just completely not allowed?
Can i get a tattoo around my wrist before if i'm joining the air force?
I am in the Army and did you know that most people in the military have tattoos, and I am about to get one actually, and I will be getting many for the rest of my life...don't listen to these people who have never set foot on a military base, much less talked to a military individual, most of the business men and women are snobby, and have no lives and don't know who really protects this country. A tattoo shows something of who they are and usually it means something to that person, and if not, they found something they really liked and wanted to keep that close to them forever. Many people are religious and get tattoos to feel closert to God, or people get familiy portraits of fallen loved ones. It's a matter of opinion of what you want. You might need a waiver getting a tattoo, as long as it's not vulger or in bad taste or racist, then you can get into the military and continue getting them, as long as again, they are in good taste, and get certain permission from your chain of command so you can get more opinions on the tattoo, or they might make you remove it via laser surgery. Go get your tattoo and good luck with your new life. Though I warn you...they will give you a hard time sometimes...I went through Basic and they never did though, they were worried about other things than a tattoo that they got before they even knew what they Army was...
Tattoos and piercings in the Canadian Forces ?
You can wear your piercings as long as you're not in uniform, not that you would even want to consider wearing a belly ring during basic anyways. As for the tattoos, as long as they're not offensive or inappropriate or make the CF look bad in any way they're fine.
How do i get a waiver for the air force for a tattoo?
It basically depends on how far up your neck the tat is. I have a tat on the back of my neck which initially was disqualifying but because I scored a 96 on the ASVAB my recruiter worked extra hard to get mine approved. I went through soooo much. I had to meet with like 4 different "head honchos." I had to put on dress blues and everything to see if the tat could be seen. Because it could not be seen in uniform I got approved. Hope that helps a little
Can I still join the Air Force with 3 music notes behind my ears?
The technical answer to your question is no. The Air Force does not give waivers for tattoos above the neck. But if you seriously want to join, there are ways around it. I know a person who had a tat in the same area & when it was noticed by the recruiter, she was told that she would have to have it removed before she could start the process of enlisting. She didn't want to remove it, so she went to another recruiter, didn't mention the tat and hid it with a short haircut. Once she was out of basic she just started to hide it with make-up. If you feel more comfortable talking it over w/ a recruiter, I suggest you do it anonymously.
Can you join the US Marines with a full sleeve tattoo?
Hi, I am planning to join the US Marines. I'm 20 years old, Korean American, 6'6'', physically fit and strong, and I have a full sleeve tattoos on both my arms and I also have a tattoo on the back of my neck. None of the tattoos are not racist, sexist, or offensive in any way. So can I still join the Marines with all my tattoos? I don't want those answers with content copied and pasted from other pages and I just want an easy, simple, straight-up answer like a "yes" or a "no". Thanks.
